Holiday in Acores, live as one of the family, quiet and with a beautiful view

We live on the boarder land from Piedade, Caminho de Cima 33. Above the fisherman - village Calhau. From our natural grown garden, quiet and protected against the wind, you have a beautiful view over the Atlantic Ocean and the neigbour island Sao Jorge. You spend your day in a quiet, rural environment. Here you can plan your trips and let the day end. We offer our guests also a welcome-dinner on the first day, when you spend your vacation here with us in our typical acorian lavastone house.

Service: Warm - hearted welcome on Pico. We are Stephanie and Anton and we live on this wonderful island since 2005. We speak german, englisch and we learn portugues. We are pleased to welcome you here. We can support you planning your leisure - activities. We offer you a shuttle service from airport or harbour in Madalena. The public transport is very limited, so it will be better for you to rent a car. We can help you select and booking. Others: German books and information material are available.

Great holiday home

We were welcomed by Stephie and Toni who live onsite with their pets which our children loved. They cottage was well equipped and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Toni even booked our whale watching trip at a discounted price. Lots of leaflets and information about the area provided and two excellent local restaurants (Faia and Ponta de Ilha) within a short drive. Beautiful views down to the coast from the terrace too.

Location idéale pour 4 personnes dont 2 ados ou enfants, commerces proches, au calme avec une vue superbe. Les propriétaires sont disponibles juste à côté et très accueillants. Parfiat pour découvrir Pico et les Açores.

House in Piedades

The property was clean and well maintained. The owners have made every effort to ensure that you have everything that you need—reading lights on the headboard of the bed, hangers, plenty of dishes for our family. They live next door and are accessible but are respectful of your privacy. The view from the ftont porch is beautiful and the chickens come to visit!

Besser geht es nicht!

Das Haus ist wunderschön in der besten Lage der Insel. Die Vermieter sind super nett, hilfsbereit und haben gute Tipps auf Lager. Wir sind sogar zu einem Grillabend eingeladen worden und auch eine spontan angemeldete Person, die dann auch noch vom Flughafen abegeholt werden musste, war kein Problem. Wenn ich noch jemals nach Pico komme, dann wieder in dieses Haus.

Steffi und Toni sind die tollsten Gastgeber, die ich bisher kennengelernt habe. Das Ferienhaus ist gemütlich und mit allem ausgerüstet, was man brauchen könnte, der Garten: fantastisch! Die Lage perfekt und die Aussicht wunderbar.

Familial atmosphere, nice view, attention to detail

Toni and Steffi have built this space with love, and it shows in the attention to detail. What sets this place really apart from others is the presence of lots of information on Pico island and Piedade (hiking, wild life, flora, trips, shopping). The place is clean, and very complete. Due to the design, with careful airing and closing of curtains the place stays surprisingly cool. Toni and Steffi can offer excellent suggestions and reductions for local trips, such as whale watching and sailing from Lajes. A BBQ with home-made Bratwurst and bread was a very nice experience. The views are great, looking out over Calhau harbor and over to São Jorge Island. One thing to note: the owners have animals, including a quite social dog (Ronja) and cat (Mickey). Ronja loves to be patted and though our kids are not too fond of animals at the end fo the stay they could not wait to be greeted by Ronja. Mickey is clearly used to get food and will be waiting at food times. If you dont take care he will steal food from your plate. Both will enter the house if you leave the door open and unattended. We highly recommend this place, as well as Pico island.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus auf Pico

Wir verbrachten eine super schöne und erholsame Woche auf Pico im Casa Maria, wo es alles gab was wir brauchten. Mit supernetten Vermietern die uns gute Tipps gaben und auch unser Whalewatching für uns organisierten. Wir können dieses Haus nur weiterempfehlen.

Entspannung pur mit grandioser Aussicht

Im Osten der Insel, ruhig in einem kleinen Ort gelegen, ist diese Unterkunft etwas für alle, die gerne nah an der Natur sind. Wanderwege sind gut erreichbar, der kleine Badegelegenheit für Kinder wunderbar zum Schnorcheln, da das Wasserbecken voller Fische ist. Die Vermieter haben sich humor- und liebevoll um uns alle 4 gekümmert, haben viele Tipps auf Lager und ihr Häuschen, die Casa Maria, mit allem ausgestattet, was man für die Ferien braucht. Wir sehen uns sicher dort wieder!

Die Pfalz auf den Azoren ;-)

Ein sehr gemütliches und gut ausgestattetes Haus auf der ruhigen Insel Pico in absolut ruhiger Lage. Schöner Blick auf das unten liegende Mehr und die Nachbarinsel Sao Jorge, bei gutem Wetter auch Terceira. Highlight sind natürlich auch die wunderbaren Gastgeber. Neben jeder Menge guter Tipps und Ratschläge für Ausflüge, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten erfährt man sehr viel wissenswertes über die Insel, die Bewohner, Fauna und Flora. Und als Krönung gab es einen Grillabend mit selbstgemachter Pfälzer Bratwurst. Die Unterkunft ist unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Casa Maria - Ferienhaus mit superschönen Ausblick

Casa Maria ist ein sehr gepflegtes Ferienhaus mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf Sao Jorge. Wir waren zu zweit und hatten sehr viel Platz. Es war alles da, was man zur Selbstverpflegung braucht. Unsere Vermieter, Steffi und Toni Daun, waren sehr hilfsbereit, haben uns viele gute Tipps gegeben und waren immer da, wenn man sie brauchte. Toni hat uns netterweise um 4 Uhr früh von der Fähre abgeholt, hat uns mit den MtBs ins Hochland gefahren, so dass wir von weiter oben einen tollen Trip machen konnten, und nicht vergessen darf man natürlich den Grillabend mit den leckeren selbstgemachten Pfälzer Bratwürsten. Insgesamt war es superschöner Aufenthalt, zu dem neben der tollen Landschaft auch der Aufenthalt in diesem Haus mit Haushund Ronja beigetragen hat. Wir hatten unsere MtBs dabei und sind viel im Hochland geradelt. In unserem Schlafzimmer hing eine riesengroße topografische Landkarte, die uns bei der Tourenplanung im Hochland sehr geholfen hat, da viele der kleinen Sträßchen in der Freitag&Berndt Karte nicht eingezeichnet oder kaum zu erkennen sind. Piedade war für die MtBtouren auch ein guter Ausgangspunkt sowohl fürs Hochland als auch für Trips entlang der Küste. Insgesamt kann man Casa Maria und Pico für einen Urlaub nur empfehlen.

Absolute Empfehlung, ruhig, sauber, gastfreundlich

Eine absolute Empfehlung für diejenigen, die eine ruhige, saubere Unterkunft suchen mit sehr netten, gastfreundlichen Vermietern. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Eine Auto ist ein Muss, der nächste Bäcker ca. 4 km entfernt. Ansonsten ein super Blick auf Sao Jorge, guter Standort für Ausflüge an der Nord- und Südküste. Das Haus ist bestens eingerichtet und für 4 Personen (ideal Familie mit 2 Kindern) gut geeignet. Das Grillfest von Steffi und Toni ist "legendär", man wird mit "deutschen" Leckereien verwöhnt. Für Kinder besonders schön sind die vielen, sehr zutraulichen, aber nicht "nervenden" Tiere. Zum nächstgelegenen schönen Badestrand (Naturschwimmbecken) muss man mit dem Auto fahren, lohnt sich aber zutiefst.

Entspannen und Abschalten

September/Oktober 2008 sehr nettes Ferienhaus, eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht, sauber und gepflegt, sehr gute Betreuung durch die Vermieter. Absolut ruhige Lage, gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im Ort. Mietwagen ist zu empfehlen, wer Nightlife sucht ist hier falsch! Ideal zum relaxen und abschalten, Natur geniessen, Delphine beobachten, gute Tips vom Vermieter, können wir nur weiterempfehlen
