Absolutely beautiful!! Cant say enough about this magical cottage by the ocean. What a wonderful opportunity to experience the history and charm preserved in this lovely piece of heaven and at the same time having the modern conveniences to make our stay very comfortable! We watched the most gorgeous sunrises while listening to the crashing waves right from our front porch!Nancy and Carolina were very helpful and set us up with food staples to begin our stay! The cottage is in a fairly remote area. There are restaurants and a cafe/grocery store near by but a car is highly recommended if you wish to explore the island! There is so much to see!

Enjoy this moment of time with views of the ocean and the rectangular, hand built vineyard plots that represent generations of individual farmers who stacked these stones one by one without mortar. Revel in the eerie delightful sounds of the Cory’s Shearwaters come home each night to nest in the rocky cliffs. Pico has its own pace and this Adega creates a sense of belonging - no matter how far you’ve traveled - because it’s innately Pico.

Heaven

This place is one of the most wonderful stays we ever had. The surrounding is so beautiful that it left us speechless on arrival. The host is super nice, she waited for us at the flat and greeted us. The house is beautiful, we didn't expect it to be so big. It's very clean and cosy with a wonderful view from a bedroom, you can hear beautiful sounds of ocean and birds. We absolutely loved this place.

FANTASTIC

This house is great. Located mid-island, it is convenient for travel all over the island. Shopping is nearby and some of the best restaurants are easy to reach. We strongly recommend Magma (just about 1 mile from house), Cinco (located in Madalena) and Mar Sushi Terrace (located in Lajes). All of these restaurants are really good, and priced properly. Service is exceptional. We stayed in this house for 14 days and really enjoyed the surroundings and the noise of the ocean crashing into the rocks.

We loved this Adega and were so sad to leave! The house is lovely and well appointed. It is so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the waves from the porch. We really appreciated the washer and dryer! There is a nearby natural pool with bathroom and shower facilities that we had to ourselves. About 1 mile down the road is a little store that manages to stock anything you could want. We went each morning for coffee and pastry that we enjoyed with a view of the ocean. Pico is small enough that this location worked very well for exploring the island.

Lovely cottage surrounded by natural beauty

My husband and I spent a week in this lovely cottage/adega by the sea. Enchanting describes it well. In addition to having all the amenities you would need for a very comfortable stay, full kitchen, etc., it is decorated with many of the artist owner's pieces of their own work which adds a special touch. The location is absolutely beautiful. From the back of the cottage your view is of a stunning cliff and from the front balcony the view is of the ocean. One of our favorite things to do each morning was to have our breakfast on the balcony while staring out at the sea before going on our daily walk. We also very much enjoyed being allowed to help ourselves to the fresh tomatoes and kale growing in the cottage garden. I could go on. Suffice it to say, the amenities were very good; very clean accommodations; and very friendly and helpful hosts. We will be back in the future, but for a longer period of time. Highly recommend.

Delightful cottage near the sea with a beautiful view

Quiet location at the end of a no-through road. Lovely terrace with a gorgeous sea view. Delightfully furnished interior. Lighting inside could be brighter to facilitate reading. Wi-fi connection is slow and intermittent. No washing machine available in the rooms open to guests

Thank you for your kind words and for battening down the hatches of Adega Baia do Canto during hurricane Lorenzo I think the idea of a good reading lamp for those stay in and read days is a great suggestion. Unfortunately, we are a volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic and our internet is less than spectacular!!! But it works very well on clear days and intermittently when overcast. Kind regards, Nancy

A couple of days in paradise

It is a wonderful place in a tranquil setting, one of the loveliest I have ever been to. The house has everything one can need and is very cosy. The perfect starting point for getting to know the island. And above all, Nancy is one of the best hosts I have ever met.

Relaxing in Beauty and Creativity

I absolutely loooved Nancy's remodeled lava rock abode which is nestled above Canto Bay of Pico Island! Her artistic talent flows throughout the home, adding to the beautiful ocean view from the kitchen and outside deck area. The hiking trail behind the home takes you up the cliff overlooking the bay -- so fun and convenient! Nancy's hospitality was greatly appreciated! Would love to come back! Beth (Minneapolis, MN USA)

Prachtig huis

Heel mooi ingericht huis.
