The cabin was perfect!! We enjoyed the paddleboats, fishing, and boating. Everything was included with the rental. We roasted smores and had a bonfire every night.
We stayed here for a month in July. Check-in was easy. They have paddle boats, canoes and kayaks available, all in good working condition. We worked while we were there and the Wi-Fi worked great! We definitely would go back again. Beautiful views!
The cute and cozy cabin is furnished with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The holiday weekend provided some good people watching on the channel, ending with very quiet day and evening. Nicely spaced firepits provided privacy in the evening. The landscaping and flower pots added to the feeling of being at home. The lakes and river gave us many kayaking options. Perfect weather added to the wonderful weekend!
What a nice cozy place! Cabin exceptionally clean, everything you needed to cook with was included, easy walk down the small slope to the lake ( my sister and I have some difficulty in walking on uneven terrain) and the scenery was perfect. Our host was so patient with two people that are technology challenged- thank you again.

The cabin is nicely situated with great views of the lake. Perfect for two but would be a little tight for 4. But you are only sleeping indoors. Outdoors is where you want to be here
The cabin was cozy, clean, worked for our short vacation to see friends in St Cloud. We were so thankful for the ..heat available as it was bit chilly one night.as
We enjoyed our stay with our children and grandchildren. The cabins we're very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. The children had plenty to do in the water, swimming, canoeing, kayaking. The owners were very friendly and helpful in providing for our needs.

Awesome! Thanks for staying with us again. Hope to see you in the future!
The cabin & location were exactly what we were looking for as a family. The location is peaceful & beautiful. The cabin was clean & well stocked with supplies for cooking, grilling & even roasting marshmallows. We loved having access to the canoe, kayaks & peddle boats. Already thinking about going back in the future & having family join us.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it so much. Happy to host you again!
A nice stay in a small but comfortable, clean cabin. The guys had a great time fishing and we all enjoyed sitting on the deck, going for walks and playing cards. Our only concern was the way the hot water worked randomly which Paul stated he would have a plumber look at. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Paul!!

Thank you for the review, Sorry the heater was acting up. I will get on it right away. Hope to host you again!!
Enjoyed our small, but comfortable cabin with dock access to a large lake (Clearwater). Owner was great about communication and sharing what amenities were available. Despite rainy weather, Paul made sure we maximized our opportunities at his cabin. I should have brought coffee, but grocery was not far away. Convenient and comfortable. Thanks!

Thanks Dana, wish the weather had been better, glad you made the most of your stay! Hope to see you again soon.
Paul responded quickly. He came down to the dock when we were coming in with the boat and brought us a pad. I’ve passed these cabins on several occasions and always thought about staying here but they were always booked. We didn’t have a chance to use the kayaks because it was too windy the last morning. Nice set up for spending time outdoors.

Good Fishing weekend stay
My family stayed here in mid May for a fishing weekend. The cabin was clean, and nicely presented. We had 5 men....but I think the size of the cabin would be more comfortable for 3 men.....or maybe for more if couples were bunked together in the 2 rooms.
The location was very nice. We could get to both lakes via the channel. The dock was close to the cabin, and was good for our boat.
We really liked the fire pit and being so close to the water. The views were beautiful, especially looking out over grass lake (keeping in mind there is a busy road right there between the cabin and clearwater lake....but that's obvious when booking so didn't surprise or bother us).
The fishing on the lake was good for us in certain areas.....though Clearwater lake is a pretty tough lake to boat on (very very shallow in large areas of the lake, requiring lifting the motor).
Overall, we enjoyed our weekend, and the cabin was a very good place to stay.

Thank you Justin! It was nice meeting you and your family. I am glad you had a successful fishing trip even in the abnormally shallow levels on Clearwater Lake. We did not have much snow up here this winter or rain in the spring either, so the lake is down about 1-1/2 feet from average making some of the shallows less than desirable. Normally these areas are very navigable. Hope to see you guys again sometime!!

The online pictures of the cabins and property are quite accurate and represent what the property looks like when I stayed there. 2 separate bedrooms with comfortable queen beds plus pillows, and a sofa in the front room that folds out into a bed, which we didn’t use. One bathroom with a small shower. You must bring your own towels. Kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, dishes etc., for at least 4 people. Plenty of small rowboats, kayaks and a paddle boat for guests to use in the lake. The fish cleaning shack has the paddles and life vests. Swimming off the dock.
My suggestions for the owner- Please fix the rudder on the paddle boat. It is somewhat hard to steer/control. This is how we found it. Looks like a new bolt and screw would do it. Tankless water heaters are great usually but the one in cabin 22 gives you two options, cold or burning hot with about a 5 second warning in between. Lastly a dust buster would be helpful to vacuum the 6x8 throw rug in the front room. Hard to keep clean if sweeping with just a broom. My Verizon phone doesn’t work well out here but the AT&Ts do just fine. Nothing could be done, so know. I would definitely return!

DONT PLAN ON SHOWERING!!
The cabin is cute and mostly clean. Great for a small family! :) beds are AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!!! Soon as we arrived at the cabin there was a note from Paul saying “ When using the shower/hot water turn dial all the way to “hot” it is set that way. Do not use any other water or the “hot” will go cold. New pressure gauge is on order!” And boy he wasn’t kidding!! The water gets sooooooo hot you’ll get a 3rd degree burn from trying to shower!! Haha!! It would have been nice to know this before booking.. but if I would of read the reviews before staying I would have known that this has been an ONGOING problem since 2019 and he’s always promised to have it fixed.. well it’s not fixed to this day LoL And theThe cabins are extremely close together you can walk out your door and see the next cabins bedroom.. so there’s really no privacy.. but I guess it’s a good thing we were not there just to rest and relax.. we came to Annandale for a wedding and to visit family so we didn’t spend much time at the cabin.. all in all it was OK!! It had its good points and bad just like everywhere else!! :))

Pressure tank valve has been replaced and water issue has been fixed. I will assume you did not get 3rd degree burns since I was never contacted about it., so that was a little bit of a reach. I found the temperature setting was moved to max, which was NOT where I set it just to be clear. All should be good now. 17 - 5 star vs 1 - 2 star says all one needs to know.

Great location, small cabin, dangerous deck, teeny bathroom
The location is fantastic---the lake beautiful. Loons day and night. MN beautiful. And we weren't fishing, but it looked like others were doing OK. The kayaks were great, as was the fire pit. The deck is dangerous because it has no railings on it. My granddaughter fell off and got a pretty significant bruise on her forehead. The cabin is OK. Beds are good, kitchen has almost no storage for food, other than refrigerator. We ended up with groceries in one of the bedrooms. It worked OK for us because the weather was beautiful and we spent all of our time out of doors. It would be pretty bad for a rainy day. The bathroom is teeny, tiny without even a hook for towels. The shower would all of sudden turn freezing cold. The owner is rigid and rather difficult. He charged me $140 for an extra guest--- although he claimed under 2 were free, he never offered to refund my money. Then 10 days after we checked out, he charged $75 cleaning fee for a coffee spill and ink marks on a couch---I did not see the "ink marks" while we were at the cabin and could not open the photos he sent via the VRBO website, so I don't know. He also claims gratuity for the cleaners is not expected despite what the sign on the refrigerator says. He promised retaliation in terms of a bad review of me if I wrote this review.

Diana,
I am not sure how to respond to this review. Out of 40 reviews for this unit, 37 of them are 5 stars. I truly believe had I not charged you the small damage/cleaning fee you would have rated it 5 stars as well. Let me say, if your granddaughter got hurt I am sorry for her and hope she is fine, kids under 2 need to be watched carefully. There are no rails on the Patio because it is a patio, not a deck, and is not inherently dangerous as you claim. In 7 years as owner, I have never had anyone else express any concern about it. When I called you on the phone looking for the lost keys, you never mentioned anything about it either. Nothing negative about the cabin or your stay whatsoever. In fact you said you had a wonderful time there and that was it. It took 10 days to add the fees because I spent a few trips back and forth trying different ink removers in hopes to not have to charge you. I sent you pictures of all the damage and how messy the cabin was left by your guests, you admittedly were not there to see it. I indeed sent the pictures to you on VRBO and they are clear as day and easily visible. When you say you cannot see them that is simply a lie, as is the statement that I was threatening you with some sort of retaliation. If that was true I would have given you a 1 star review, but I did not. You were charged $50 for defacing my property with ink over 6 different areas of the couch and one area on the kitchen table, and $25 for the mess we had to clean up and the steam cleaning I needed to do to remove the coffee stained rug, a spill no one even attempted to clean up. The fee was minimal and appropriate considering the damages.
The sign on the refrigerator says tips are appreciated, not expected.
We enjoyed being right on the lake. Watching the loon family was a highlight! Appreciated having access to kayaks, rowboats and a canoe. Place was clean and beds were comfortable!
