Finding the specific apartment was a but confusing, we definitely walked into two wrong doors before figuring it out. The key was not left on the counter as stated in the check in message, but the homeowner did provide us a location for a spare key to use. The apartment itself was cute and in a good location for what we needed. The apartment itself is pretty bare bones (one pillow on the bed with a pillow case, half a roll of toilet paper, etc). The stay itself was comfortable and nice - we would book this location again.

Nive, easy access to downtown

The place is spacious, missing some basic amenities you would expect though. No microwave, toaster, pots and pans (just one frying pan present). I would suggest the host add some of these things. We made it work and it was fine for what we needed. The place was a little on the dirty side however.

Had to search for a message about check in, apartment was left unlocked "with key on kitchen counter" Upon arrival the apartment was filthy, and COMPLETELY EMPTY with no key in sight in the unit. It is next door to the building pictured. Host took over 24 hours to respond at which time we were in a hotel and refused to refund me, instead saying I would be blocked from leaving a bad review and did not reapond after i said we were unabe to stay due to lack of communication if it was a "wrong unit" Never again.

Didn’t get to stay at all we were locked out the unit and then they tried to say our reservation was not confirmed, not true then they said well we don’t have the unit ready for u we were stranded with kids , in a strange city having to try to find some where else to stay do not rent from this booking ! Beware

Great place!!!

We had a great stay! About a one minute walk to Starbucks and Chipotle, and a few minutes to get to a cute little cafe! About 20 minutes from the Zoo, Casino, and big name stores! Place was clean, felt safe, and spacious! There was an oven and fridge (things I wasn’t sure would be available based on past reviews). It was everything we needed!

The key was not left where the host said it would be in the instructions. We did not stay due to safety and security concerns associated with not having a key. The host did not respond to my messages asking about the key for nearly 24 hours. We did not even stay at the property.

Do not stay here!

I couldn’t get ahold of the host for 5 days and she didn’t respond or help out with anything at all. The unit was extremely hot and not a single blanket for the bed. TV didn’t work. Terrible experience.

I would not stay here. We could not get in contact with the host even though I called numerous times because we had trouble finding parking and the room. Once we found if the door was all the way open and the place was a mess. Eventually after calling more and emailing the host responded via call telling me she didn’t know anyone was staying and she didn’t have the place cleaned. We decided not to stay and she said she would work on getting us a refund. Since then I have tried to get in contact with her and have gotten no response. I would not recommend staying here.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Booked days in advance, no response to questions asked on how to access property. Arrive night of booking with no where to park, and NO way to even enter property! Here we are stranded in a foreign city not able to get into our booking. Squatters seen in the window just to top it off. Still have had 0 response from Vrbo or the owner Brittany. If you are not able to be a good a host then don’t do it. People don’t pay you to have to pay for something else also. You WILL be returning my money. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOST. Scam!

Met my needs!

For me, this property more than met my needs. I’m a doctoral student at Case Western Reserve. The property is close to campus. It is clean. There are eateries in walking distance. I was able to eat, study and sleep and relax on the class after a day of class. Just for awareness - this property is basic with no extra frills. Such as a hair dryer like one reviewer mentioned. Very little cookware, etc So just don’t expect the Waldorf. But for the price it’s perfect for my needs.

It was OK

As we arrived to this amazing location the check in was very easy but the place was not vacuumed and hair were everywhere. Just one frying pan, no pots and microwave to warm up food, no real dishes, not even a water kettle to make a tea or coffee. You would hope that that’s what the apparent would be for. Every hotel room has those basics. The owner did send a cleaning crew but only after we requested. I would come back to the same place but there is much room for improvement for people that travel outside of the country and can’t bring anything with them. Thanks

This was a fantastic stay! Visiting the world reknown Cleveland Clinic during my first stay in Cleveland; the Cleveland Heights area was perfect; five minutes down Cedar Rd and even better, easily navigated on Bus 11. As far as the 1 bedroom, it's a full apartment in rehabilitated older historic building. Great accommodation including large rooms, great spaces to relax, and a clean kitchen and bath. The space is bit minimalist but perfect for my needs. It's easily a great space for both short term and long term stays. Communication via text was clear, always available, and helpful. Access to the apartment was a snap. I don't know why other guests had issues; this was very familiar of a process and easy. Again, the Cleveland Heights area is awesome; great sense of pride, community, and dining options. It's a super platform to visit Cleveland. Bus 11 goes right into downtown, easily connects with the airport Redline, and I was able to visit the RR Hall right from bus 11. Simply perfect I highly recommend this stay. As host for short term rentals myself; I appreciate this apartment for it's location, size, simplicity, ease of access and communication with hosts.

Do yourself a favor and do not stay here

The check-in process is insecure (they leave the door cracked for you and you get keys once you’re inside). It made me feel uneasy. I was also given the wrong address in my check-in email, so I spent a while trying to open a different apartment across the street. the apartment was filthy with dirt and dust, stickiness all over the kitchen, and hair everywhere. There was also a lot of dust and garbage underneath the bed. I found what I could to clean in order to feel as comfortable as I could be. I left the apartment much cleaner than it was when I arrived.The family living above yells a lot and there was a moment where the woman was screaming that she was going to call the police and it sounded like things were being thrown down the stairwell. The apartment also got an eviction notice while I was there. The kitchen does not have a microwave and only one large pot for cooking. Many of the plates and silverware were sticky and not clean. I there was only one bath towel there to use, even though I had two people listed to stay. That towel was full of hair. The host never wrote back to me about getting another towel when I asked on the Vrbo app.You know when you are about to move out of an apartment and you have the absolute bare bones, but having done the nasty cleaning yet? That’s what this apartment felt like all week. I have stayed in MANY places for work, and this was the worst. Did not have time because of my busy work to try to change to a different place.

We arrived and we were locked out- never got to stay Host was not available!! Supposedly we were given wrong address- spoke with vrbo- told us to call back the next day! Meanwhile we were stranded in Cleveland with no where to stay- had to find a place at 7pm!! We called the host over and over with no answer. The unit was already paid for!! Never had this happen before! We were here for serious medical reasons and didn’t need this after spending all day at Cleveland Clinic. Someone better take responsibility- This was an outrageous experience. We have to come back to Cleveland in September and I am really leary of booking through you for an apartment. We had brought food that we had to buy ice for all week cause we didn’t have the frig that the apt had!! I can’t say enough bad things about this whole set up. The fact that the host was unavailable to give us the correct address was unbelievable. So again, we paid and never got into the apartment at all! WE NEVER GOT TO STAY HERE!! Make sure someone sees this review who can hopefully do something about it , that it doesn’t happen to some other people like it did us.

Poor Customer Service

My husband and I did not actually get to stay at this location due to issues we had we the owner. I booked 3 weeks in advance and immediately reached out to ask about an early check in. I was told that it wouldn’t be a problem. A week and a half before my trip, I reached out to the owner again to get the information to check in because I had no received any information. I verified the early check in time and asked for information and was only provided with the address. At no point was I informed that I could not check in early. When I arrived to the location I had to call the owner because I had not received information on where to park. When speaking to the owner she was very cold and uncaring of the predicament of not having the rental available at the agreed upon time and I was informed that the previous renter had asked for a late check out and that was it. I was in the area for a procedure and needed an early check in time to prepare for it. I was upset with the situation so I contacted Vrbo customer support and received a message from the owner that I would be issued a full refund. I am happy and relieved I was offered a refund but then had to scramble to find a hotel in the area with an early check in. I wanted to write this review to share my experience and make others aware in case they are in a similar situation.

Incorrect property description & poor communication

The biggest issue was the communication, she needed to provide check-in and check-out instructions. I had to call her on July 3rd, the day of my arrival to know what to do. She didn’t tell me where the key would be. She informed me after I called her that the door would be unlocked. I was traveling alone, in a new city and arrived at 1 a.m., and the place I was staying was accessible from the street. It was unlocked, not just unlocked, but the door was open. And the fact that the chain safety lock was not working also added to the issue of safety. This is not the safe experience that I was promised with VRBO. WIFI was not given until I called VRBO and they called her. I was supposed to be working this trip and it was a hassle to have to track her down to get an amenity that was listed in the beginning. The place is nice, but a wall unit is not A/C, the only place that is cool is the living room, everywhere else was hot and stuffy, not even opening a window helped. I had to sleep on the couch for my stay. You can say in the description that there is a wall unit, if it had been advertised I would have booked a different property. I’d suggest to the host to do better on communication, if you had just answered my messages I wouldn’t have had to go to VRBO. I wish you the best in your future rentals.

Good, but….

So the check in process involved really great communication with the property owner. The only down side is, it is an old apartment complex. As it is so old there aren’t things we take for granted in daily life. First to mind, easy access to electrical plugs. There is a lack of plugs in this place. So just be prepared and bring an extension cord or some such. Yes it says “AC” with the apartment but fail to mention that it’s a window unit in the living room and none in the bedroom. There was a fan that barely worked for as warm as it was in the apartment. Due to this I slept in the living room and my partner took the bed as us on top of one another would have been incredibly hot. The towels that are provided are clearly old too. They don’t absorb any water fresh out of the shower. They just push it around for the most part. So bring towels from home. There’s also no fan for ventilation in the bathroom. The light fixture is updated so it would be nice to add in there. I wouldn’t stay again during the summer but fall into winter I would. It’s $60 a night and that’s a good deal. I would ask for the TV to be under control to some extent or another. We had to program the remote, nbd but, then couldn’t get the TV to work with it. But again, it’s a nice place. It really is. It’s safe. It’s a good deal. Just needs some additional stuff to be updated a bit better. Thank you.
