Friendly host, clean, peaceful. If you want to be in the mountains this is where you want to go. Close to golfing, whitewater rafting, Great Smoky Railroad train ride and the casino. We had a great time 4 days we we there! We will be staying again! Thank you Michael!!

"An absolute gem of a stay! This cozy cabin is nestled on a gorgeous, secluded property and stocked with everything you need. Michael is an incredible host whose hospitality went above and beyond. Plus, it's easily the most pet-friendly place we've ever stayed. We can't wait to come back!"

This was our 4th stay since 2021 and it was wonderful as always. Everything is clean and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, etc. The sunsets are gorgeous from the porch. Mike and Inola Mae are amazing hosts. Our kids (now 12 and 14) love it and this is where they want to go when we plan a mountain weekend.

We checked in pretty late and had little time to check everything out. However check in was easy and Michael was extremely hospitable and a gracious host. Woke up to a beautiful scenery. Met Michael and iola may his dog. Overall the home was cozy and inviting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everything was tidy and comfy, we had everything we needed in the house. Very easy to get to and close to all the things we wanted to do. My children absolutely LOVED our hosts pup Enola and looked for her every time we pulled up.

We had a wonderful stay. Our host was such a joy to have nearby, and his sweet dog Enola Mae made the experience even better. He helped us out on very short notice and welcomed us like old friends. Truly grateful for the hospitality.

Adorable 2 bedroom cabin in a very quite, private, and serene setting! My son and I took our 3 dogs, and we all loved it, especially the beautiful covered porch with doggie gate. Michael was very helpful in suggesting places to hike with our dogs, and he is most generous in providing supplies like K-cups for the Keurig, popcorn and staple foods like spices and cooking oil, body wash and lots of other toiletries, and charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. The kitchen is small, but stocked with everything you need. Internet and all the TV you could possibly want is provided. I tried to find something closer to Cherokee, but nobody else I found allows more than 2 dogs. After staying in Michael's Alarka cabin, I won't even look at other places unless he's already booked. The beautiful mountain views and the peaceful setting of this cabin are unforgettable.

After hiking the Smokies for many years I discovered the Bryson City / Deep Creek area in 2012 and fell in love with it so much I decided to relocate here. Found my dream home which included a guest house which I have decided to rent out part time. Absolutely love all the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.

Why they chose this property

At 3000 feet elevation this place has beautiful views of the mountains and spectacular sunsets. The central location to rafting, boating, hiking and Bryson City couldn't be better.

What makes this property unique

In less than 20 minutes or less you can get to Nantahala National Forest hiking, Fontana Reservoir boating / fishing, trout fishing in numerous creeks, kayaking / rafting at the Nantahala river, Smoky Mountain National Park hiking / tubing at Deep Creek and lots of fun activities and good food / drinks in Bryson City.
