About this property
Cozy Cabin For 2-4 steps from the Smoky Mountains National Park
We are Alina & Bubba, the former 5-Star Super Hosts of The Little Gem of Sapphire Valley (ID 1367382), and are proud to offer the New Little Gem, located in Bryson City, NC., for your consideration.
The Firefly Cabin is located on the same 4-acre property as the Little Gem of Bryson (ID 3371444). This quaint, one-bedroom cabin sleeps up to 4-people and is perfect for a small group who want to be close to the Deep Creek Recreation Area at the southern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Please note that the Firefly cabin is a 13’x33’ converted manufactured home, but you'd never know by the looks of it. Pretty much everything inside is brand new.
The cabin is fully outfitted and comes with two Fire TVs that are subscribed to Amazon Prime. In order to vew other platforms, guests will need to login to their own accounts or cast. Please plan accordingly.
Relax on the expansive porch or around the fire ring, all while being entertained by the dancing fireflies. The cabin is located just 150-yards from the Tom Branch entrance to the park. Unlike the original Little Gem, there are no HOA rules, parking lot restrictions, or even neighbors, for that matter. We are now a secluded, restful homestead ready to welcome you to a relaxing stay.
Bryson City, itself, is a mere 6 minutes down the road, as is the Tuckaseegee River, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and the infamous "Road to Nowhere". The city of Cherokee, as well as its Casino, are 10-minutes away. The Newfound Gap Road to Gatlinburg, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Oconaluftee Visitor Center entrance to the National Park is only 11-miles away.
Nearby excitement includes Whitewater Rafting on the Nantahala, Tubing or Fly Fishing on Deep Creek or the Tuckaseegee, and experiencing the Polar Express on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad.
For inquiries regarding The Little Gem's Main House, or the availability of both houses, please send an inquiry stating so.

Cabin was very clean and provided for any of our needs (ie cooking, laundry, relaxing). Hosts provided info on specific requests (horse riding, restaurants, any additional needs). Location and access to primary goal (hiking) oof location was perfect.

Howard and his daughter were delightful to host. It is not often that we can meet our guests but this was one of those lucky times. Howard took full advantage of the Firefly Cabin’s location next to GSMNP and hit the trails at the crack of dawn.
They treated the Firefly with care and left it in immaculate shape. Wonderful guests.
We welcome you back anytime.
Perfect little cabin for our very active trip. We needed a quiet and cozy place to rest each night after hiking, fishing and touring each day. The Little Gem was perfect. It had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner and “bed down” for the night. Evenings were spent relaxing on the porch. Owners were fantastic with communication and answering any questions we had. Highly recommend.

You guys were phenomenal guests. And you used the Firefly Cabin for exactly the right reasons; close to the National Park, hiking trails, great fishing and the quaint little town of Bryson City. Other than the bears and the deer munching on the corn pile outside your windows, you should have been very comfortable during your stay. And thanks for the pictures of your hiking and fishing adventures.
Please come back anytime.
What a cozy, homey stay! We had a great time staying in this beautiful cabin. It is close enough to Bryson City and Cherokee yet far away from the crowds. 1-2 min drive to an entrance of the National Park and can’t forget to mention amazing hosts!!

Everything about this trip was amazing! The scenery, the journey through such a historic town and the atmosphere! Definitely had something to keep us entertained and busy with the area and surrounding towns. We enjoyed this cabin so much. It had everything you could need plus more!! Also we enjoyed meeting our hosts who picked us fresh herbs and berries!! Definitely will be visiting again soon!!!
It was such a wonderful stay. Loved the goats and the wild life. Clean and well keep cabin. Will be a repeat for us.

There’s nothing like a family reunion in the Smokies. From the sounds of it, y’all had a wonderful time at The Little Gem over Thanksgiving.
The goats were a surprise to us, also, but that’s the fun of discovery around the area. You never know what you’re going to see the next time you look out the window or head out the door.
You are most welcome to stay with us in the future. You left the Firefly Cabin in immaculate shape.
When we first drove up we were a little skeptical of the place. It needs some attention on the outside and surround. When we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. It was very neat and clean. The host was great with communication.

One of the things we love about The Little Gem is its deeply forested, remote location. We keep the areas directly surrounding the Farmhouse mowed and the gardens manicured. We do leave the meadow alone, allowing it to be a natural area that regularly attract deer, birds, butterflies, foxes, raccoons, groundhogs and chipmunks.
At this point in the year, the blooms are all but complete and it will be mowed soon enough, preparing it for another million or so native wildflower seeds for the coming Spring and Summer.
But, as for the Kudzu, the invasive weed started encroaching on our property this year and, as you know, it’s unstoppable. But we have a plan ! “Goatscaping !”
After it dies back this winter, a flock of goats will come in and start the feasting process that should irradiate the weed, at least until it jumps the road, again.
But, with the newly graveled driveway, manicured gardens, and clean exteriors, we think our Little Gem is a perfect rural getaway.
Thank you for the pictures that you sent showing the beautiful area and wonderful moments you experienced during your stay.
You are more than welcome to return at any time.
Peace,
Alina & Bubba
The location of Bubba's cabin was absolutely perfect for us. Right next to Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park, we were able to walk to a trailhead and hike to three different waterfalls. It's also just a short drive to the main park entrance/office, so we were able to avoid the crowds by getting up early. Although the cabin shares the property with a larger farmhouse, it feels private and very peaceful. Recommend 100%.

Kari and Andy were perfect guests. They are veteran travelers well versed in short-term rental protocols and etiquette. So happy that they approve of the location so close to trails and attractions in the area.
Highly recommended to any future hosts.
You are welcome back anytime.
This little cabin in the woods is so nice inside and out - the blueberry bush was an especially wonderful bonus! We loved sitting on the porch and enjoying nature, As we ate some of our meals at the cabin, we very much appreciated unexpected amenities like baggies and foil.
Owners Bubba and Alina are terrific hosts and so conscientious about checking in to see if there was anything we needed.
We look forward to staying here again someday - and hope to bring other family members and book the big house on the property.

Scott,
We are so happy that y’all enjoyed the Firefly Cabin. As our second guest, we appreciate the fact that you trusted us as a ‘new’ host, even though we have a long history with Vrbo.
As I said when y’all drove off, anytime you’re ready, let us know. You are more than welcome to come back.
Peace,
Alina & Bubba
Great little cabin for 2. Frequent communication with the property manager, they attempted to mediate any issues we had. Wifi was down, but it was an issue in the area, not just the cabin. Grass was tall but they spoke to me beforehand regarding it and the inability to cut due to the recent heavy rains. It wasnt a big deal at all. Great area close to town but far enough away for peace and quiet. Cabin was updated inside and very nice. They provided everything we needed and extra small things were available. Overall a great stay.

Thank you, Karrie, for your kind words. And thank you for your understanding during your stay. You are welcome back at any time in the future.
Very cute, very clean, very well stocked and equipped, very welcoming, and very peaceful. Truly, a small home away from home. The hosts were very welcoming with their communication and suggestions. They have completely renovated this tiny home into a lively, yet cozy get-a-way. It was perfect for my first experience outside of staying at a hotel. The Firefly was very accommodating with things needed in everyday living, I feel as if we overpacked. The washer and dryer has been hooked up, even tho the description said it was incomplete. They even included pods! The only bump we had….is that we didn’t realize the thermostat was set to heat to our desired temp on a 2.5hour time frame. The cold woke us the first night, and chilled us coming in from our first day adventure. Once we figured out we had to by pass that setting it worked perfectly. The WiFi was a lil slow for the kiddos taste, but I thought it was great considering the location. My only suggestion would be a small privacy fence to separate Lil Gem and The Firefly from the neighbors yard/drive. The neighbors seemed to have a collection of old cars, trucks, ect scattered along the side of the property line. In my opinion, the rubbage wasn’t complementing nor coordinating with the very neatly nested mountainside treasure of Lil Gem and The Firefly. My ‘memory mark’ of this stay would be the sign to the right as you start to drive up the driveway. ❤️
Thank you!!!

We knew your first Short Term Rental experience would surprise you, especially with us. Not all STRs are created equal. We absolutely pride ourselves on peaceful, calm, and clean.
And it is funny that you mention a ‘privacy fence’ between us and the next property as we have planted fast-growing Leyland Cypress trees along the property line. They should alleviate the view of our neighbor’s storage shed in no time at all.
Also, we’re happy that you appreciate the homage to the Cherokee who ancestral land we now steward. It is only fitting that the past is acknowledged and the future is preserved.
You are more then welcome to return at any time.
Peace,
Alina & Bubba
