Lovely efficiency apartment. Recent renovations. Quaint, quiet and relaxed town. Very friendly townspeople. Location excellent. Within walking distance of harbor/ river walk, stores and restaurants. Enjoyed having coffee on the front porch swing every morning. Very comfortable bed and pillows. A/C works great. No issues with water pressure! Would love to visit again.
This house is conveniently located near the downtown area of Carrabelle and is walking distance to some shops and restaurants. My wife and I have been coming to Carrabelle for the last 25 years and love the area. We would stay here again.
We had a great time at the property! Everything was clean as promised and there were several cool places, including a food truck, within walking distance. The AC was also nice and cool. If you are wanting a place close to the shoreline of the bay this place cannot be beat, especially for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

The house was not ready when we arrived and the host said they had no knowledge of our reservation. We ended up having to stay
We only needed a place for one night, but we had our grandson who is 3, so we didn't want to stay in a hotel. This listing was perfect for a short trip and could actually do for a longer trip(except for the lack of a kitchen).

Enjoyed my stay. Very charming place. Could've used a microwave but got by without it. Will definitely rent it again.
Overall, this was a great value. The location was great for walking around in Carabelle, with shops and restaurants right out the front door, driving west to Apalachicola and St. George Island, or driving north to Wakulla Springs. We did all of the above! The place was clean, the rooms were spacious, and the host was easy to work with. We felt very safe and content there. A few small tweaks would make the place more comfortable, and I’ve sent those to the host directly.
I stayed in this bungalow for 4 nights. It's very comfortable and well maintained. It really is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. It might be a little too close to a really nice ice-cream shop. I think I somehow ended up there several times. Lol.
The owner was so kind and gracious. We reserved the stay for our father so he could escape Hurricane Milton. We were so grateful for his understanding of our last minute reservation and so accommodating of our pets.
We enjoyed our stay although there was a lot of traffic noise. A tv in the living room would have been better for us. There was a lack of a place to hang clothes. Overall we could recommend this place to stay.
My only complaint is easy to fix. There was no toilet tissue in the bathroom. I bought my own at IGA. But I'm still giving you a 5 Star rating as I'm sure this was probably a one-time oversight with the cleaning crew.
I was very pleased with this rental. I was able to come to town and visit with my sisters and family in Apalachicola for a couple days. The unit, was so cute, and VERY clean. It had a mini fridge, stocked with water, coffee maker, with coffee provided, and some snacks. The bathroom was nice, with nice towels, even a dark cloth for make-up. (us make up wearers appreciate that). It has a window AC unit, that kept me very cool, internet and nice size TV. It was located just a couple blocks from places to eat and the bay. I am so glad that I came across it and will rent again in the future. Thanks Jason, for a wondeful place to stay!

Hi Kevin, the kitchenette was both described and pictured if you had taken the time to look. But you didn’t , that’s on you.
Hey Friends! I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains as a child but have spent most of my life in Florida. As much as I loved the Northern Mountains I just couldn't hibernate for half the year so I made the switch to Florida as soon as I was on my own. I love the outdoors and water sports of all kinds.
Why they chose this property
Carrabelle and Franklin county offer a unique, authentic experience that is rare to find these days. You won't find chain stores or restaurants here. Its why I chose to live and raise my family here .
What makes this property unique
Lucy’s Beach Hideaway is a unique structure that I was attracted to the moment I saw it. Built in the early 1900's it served as a boarding house for women under the name The Beauty Rest Hotel, later on it was owned by the town Pharmacist "Smash" who ended up marrying a beautiful woman "Lucy" who was on the lamb from Atlanta and hiding in quiet little Carrabelle. Fortunately for her, Smash, being the town pharmacist, was well connected and managed to get her charges dropped once she was found out. We love the history of our little Gem!
