Spacious Country House with Private Pool & Mountain Views

Loma La Parra is situated at the heart of Andalucia's most beautiful areas of mountains and lakes and set in several thousand square meters of private land, between two protected areas of extraordinary natural beauty, El Chorro and El Torcal and just 30 minutes from the famous, spectacular walkway, "el caminito del rey" or Kings Walk. Local activities include, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing, walking, water sports on the lakes, arial sports, sightseeing and shopping and golfing in nearby Antequera. Within easy reach are Malaga, Granada (the Alhambra and snow skiing), Cordoba and Seville, the coast and Gibraltar. Alternatively, just relax, soak up the sun and enjoy your peaceful surroundings; the views, the village life, the house, pool, barbecue and gardens.


Golf: Antequera Golf is 20 kms or half an hour from the villa.
Alhaurin Golf is 30 kms or 40 minutes away.
Both are in the mountains with spectacular scenery.
There are may more courses on the coast one or two hours away.

Coast/Beach
The Costa del Sol's beaches are 30 miles away which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The better areas are Fuengirola and the smaller beaches around Marbella.
A 2 to 3 hour drive will take you to the Atlantic windsurfing beaches around Tarifa.

Skiing: The Province of Granada is home to Andalucia's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, and its local ski resort, Sol y Nieve.
There is an excellent, modern, lift network, good access, skiing to 3000 metres, and vertical descents of 1000 metres. Open from Christmas to the end of April, the resort is 2.5 hours from the house.

The private swimming pool measures 11m x 5m. There is an exceptionally spacious, tiled surround for sunbathing, a pergola shade and spectacular views to the mountains.
The nearby summer kitchen and barbecue with stone table and outside seating for 12 guests is the focal point for your outdoor dining.
There is a separate covered terrace with wooden pillars and beams, and a pine table to seat 10, plus a sofa and two armchairs.

Eating Out.
In the village there are many bars and a few restaurants There are supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor, butchers, bakers, take away pizza and roast chicken and a market every Thursday. There are banks with cash machines. Antequera, less than half an hours drive, is a superb shopping center with many restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

The property was lovely and was just as advertised. Colin was a great host/communicator and a pleasure to work with. We were pleasantly surprised after a wind storm that he was out in the back yard cleaning the pool and sweeping up early so as not to disturb our stay.

Our stay was fantastic! The house is very clean, well equipped and absolutely beautiful! We had everything we needed and there were a lot of areas to get together as a group but also plenty of space for some alone-time. The views were stunning, the pool perfectly clean and there were plenty of sunbeds and places to stay in the shades. Colin was always available for us and helped us when we had questions. We’d definitely recommend to stay here and hope we’ll be able to come back next year. We loved that we were allowed to stay beyond the checkout time which made our departure day a lot more convenient. Our stay at this gem of a house provided us with the perfect holiday!

Amazing villa and fabulous hosts

Property was wonderful; clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Pool and garden were immaculate, even better than the pictures. The location was very peaceful and the views were amazing, Valle de Abdalajis is the closest village where you can find bars, a few shops and a couple of supermarkets; the locals are very friendly and it's only a 5 minute drive from the villa. Colin and Francesca are lovely hosts, they couldnt have helped us more and we would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic villa

A wonderful holiday in this spacious villa in spectacular surroundings. Pool area perfect for family fun with plenty of space for sun beds and inflatables but shaded areas also if needed. Colin and Francesca were perfect hosts, quickly available if needed but never intrusive. Excellent communication throughout the whole process. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Beautiful Country House - Perfect

This stay was really perfect for us. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the garden/pool area is stunning and even better than the website photographs show with mature garden, multiple seating/lounging areas and excellent pool. The mountain/countryside views from the house and garden are wonderful. We loved the surrounding district and local village. Colin and Francesca were absolutely ideal hosts - really friendly and helpful but they were careful not to intrude. It was a really great experience with no negatives.

It was a Top-week

The property is very nice, every bedroom has its own shower/bath. In the house every thing you may need was available Also the BBQ was very good.The environment could not be better and made it easy to fill in our days. I promissed Collin to tell our friends and other people if they look voor a location we will advize to go here. Perhaps we also will go back in teh next years.

What an amazing villa and location!

Just returned from 7 nights staying at this spectacular villa. Everything we could have wanted and more was provided. The location is stunning for those that truly want to get away from it all, fabulous pool and outdoor area. The rooms were perfect for a large group, each with its own bathroom. A car is a must, to enable you to explore the surrounding areas and stick up at the supermarket (a number in the local town, just a 2 minute drive away). Colin and Francesca were wonderful hosts and only a message away if we needed anything. Will definitely be looking to book again, thank you 😊

wonderfully fabulous

colin and francesca the most amazing hosts , nothing was too much trouble . this villa allows everyone there only private air condition bedroom and bathroom , allowing that break out time fir large groups . whilst having lovely communal areas to gather inside and out . everything you need in the kitchen , very clean property , clean linen and towels . large pool , secluded to allow privacy and a bit of children excitement noise , close to town to pop for a shop . best villa by far for our very large family thank you

Wonderful stay!

The property is gorgeous, plenty of room for 5 couples + and the outside area is outstanding. Lovely big pool, plenty of comfortable loungers and a fabulous outdoor kitchen with seating for BBQs or drinks . Air con in the bedrooms was a godsend as we had 40 degree temps, but the breeze and the pool made it bearable! Wasps were a bit of a pain but we got used to ignoring them. Colin and Francesca are just the best hosts..always available but not interfering , solved any issues immediately and were generally lovely people. Nice place and big pool

Everything was nice and clean. Kitchen was big and well equipmented. There was two big fridge and that was big plus for big group. Also there was two washing machines so it help a lot daily routines. There was also nice barbecue place under roof where was good facilities to cook. We liked that place a lot, nothing to complain. Also owner was very nice and friendly and check in and out was smooth and fast. 6/5 star for this place. Only small minus is the road ( last Kilometer) to place but that is not owners fault and not is his hand.

Stunning property - highly recommend

Perfect for our large group of 13 aged 4 - 50 odd. Beautiful setting, clean and well equipped. Having both shower and poolside towels was brilliant and there is a vast range of films on the tv which was great for when the kids needed a break from the heat or a bit of quiet time. Colin was very helpful with both local information and when we had any queries or problems. Local village had two supermarkets which were adequate for our needs. Only downside was those long winding roads to reach the villa, but I guess you don’t get the stunning views and scenery without that!

Our Beautiful Holiday

Our stay in this beautiful villa was all that a holiday should be. The villa is beautiful with very spacious en-suite air conditioned bedrooms, ensuring all had privacy when needed and children could nap in the hot afternoons and adults too. Our hosts Francesca and Colin were marvellous and went out of their way to do all they could to make our holiday enjoyable. Never intrusive, but always at hand when needed. Excellent established villa in the mountain

We had a brilliant stay at Loma La Parra. 10 of us were house in the spacious property. All 5 bedrooms were ensuite and were huge. The living / dining room provided ample space to relax indoors. The kitchen area is also impressive and also has a large table. The best part of the villa is the swimming pool area including the pagoda which provided a welcome shaded area. There's plenty of comfortable beds for everyone. A separate building housed the charcoal bbq and had both electric and water. WiFi was available throughout the property including around the pool. The owners were always available to discuss any issues. Overall an extremely good property which lived up to our expectations.

Perfect for familys and friends

We were 10 adults and children on holiday in this amazing lovely house, far from tourism on the coast. We enjoyed the very well equipped house, the lovely kitchen and especially the terrace and pool. Almost daily the pool was cleaned. The weather was really hot outside but the house remained cool if you remembered to close the doors and windows. The owner could consider a ceiling fan in the bedrooms. The three bedrooms were very spacious and high ceilings, but the fourth room in the tower was low-ceilinged and unfortunately very hot. but all in all I can only recommend the place, and would like to return some other time.

The perfect holiday home

Our family of 8 had an absolutely fantastic break at the property. Ranging from ages 7 - 65, the house met all our needs and was big, spacious and perfectly equipped for us to spend the week in the sun in the most relaxed fashion. Days were spent in the pool or chilling in the spacious living room while evenings were spent cooking fantastic BBQs in the outdoor kitchen; enjoying quality family meals on the veranda; watching the beautiful sunsets dip behind the mountains and all followed up by evening dips in the pool. Two big shops in the Lidl half an hour's drive away (Antequera) saw us through the week. The kitchen and utility space were very well appointed so that we didn't need to purchase any equipment. Colin was on hand all week and it was comforting having the security of support, a simple text away, (particularly given our age ranges). We feel very lucky to have experienced Valle de Abdalajis in such a perfect property and would love to visit again. You will not be disappointed with this property, location or ease of self-catering opportunity.

Fabulous Stay!

Fabulous, relaxing week with the family (all adults) in a beautiful villa, located in the perfect spot for exploring the area. The villa and it's facilities were perfect, the pool and garden were spotless, and cleaned several times during the week, and the surrounding area and views were spectacular. Amazing walk along the Caminito del Rey (a must see), which is only 30 mins drive away, and lovely days in Ronda (about 1.5 hours), and Antequera (30 mins). The owners were very communicative, both before, and during, our stay, and went to a lot of trouble to make sure everything was perfect. We had an amazing Paella delivered one evening, by Mari & Jose, relatives of the owners, and all the other evenings we took advantage of the BBQ at one side of the garden, then had really relaxing evenings on the patio, with plenty of local wine! The local town is only 5 mins drive away, with all the little local shops and supermarkets that you need, plus several lovely little tapas bars, that were a welcome distraction after doing a bit of shopping! Sadly, we can't comment on any of the local restaurants, as the villa and surroundings were so perfect that we ended up staying in every evening! We would have loved to be staying for a second week, and can't recommend this villa/location highly enough. Many, many thanks to Colin and Francesca for making our stay so perfect!

The ideal place to relax and enjoy the views

Arriving at the villa we were completely bowled over by the location and position and the villa itself was perfect for 9 of us plus a 6 month old. The pool is a great size, with plenty of sun beds and a very pretty shaded area. The views are incredible and look over the mountains and down into the very pretty village with supermarkets and bars. Our hosts, Colin and Francesca, made it very easy to check in and get settled into our holiday. On request, they arranged for a delicious paella feast from a local restaurant and delivered it to us themselves. We did quite a bit of sightseeing as we don’t mind driving but places like Seville, Cordoba and Granada are a good hour and a half to two hours away. Antequera, which is only half an hour away is very pretty with a fabulous castle which is well worth a visit and El Torcal, a lovely rocky walk! We would definitely come back to this area and this villa, if there were enough of us, however……….and I am nitpicking here, there were only 2 pillows per double bed and these were very flat, the knives for cutting were all blunt which made preparation of food difficult and although the BBQ area was great, there was a particular tree which screened off the cooking area from the table and stopped the ‘cook’ from joining in with the chat around the table (some lopping of branches would help). All in all, a fabulous time was had and we’d do it again anytime!

Superb family Holiday

Wow - never had such a fantastic family holiday. My wife and I entertained 3 of 5 of our adult children and their respective partners and 5 of our grandchildren at Colin and Francesca's country house in August 2024. When we were a lot younger we had some wonderful family holidays at both hired accommodation and properties we have owned abroad, but none recently or with so many participants. More recently we have tended to holiday at 5 star hotels abroad and it has just been my wife and myself. Now we are older ( I am 78 and somewhat infirm) and our children have families we all decided to have a "Last Hurrah" with as many of our extended family as possible ( some of our grandchildren are now raising their own children and others are making their own way in the world. Communicating with Colin was simple and he could not have been more helpful and flexible in making the arrangements. The property is large and and the outside area - grounds and pool are superbly maintained by Colin who acts as" pool boy/gardener" My wife and one of our sons and some of the grandchildren never ventured outside of the grounds all week apart from attending a birthday party meal for our 15 year old grandson at a local restaurant so kindly recommended and booked by Colin - so taken were they with the onsite facilities. One point which stops me giving a 5 star rating overall is the internal accommodation which is in need of some updating (mattresses and bathrooms)

Familie goudenjubileum

Prachtige ruime comfortabele casa mayor waar je diverse hoeken hebt om te genieten, zowel binnen als buiten. De buiten keuken met BBQ was een super gezellige hoek. En dan spreken we nog niet over het prachtige zwembad waar de kinderen van hebben genoten. De ligging is ook uniek, rustig en geeft veel wandel mogelijkheden in de omliggende natuurparken! Warm aan te bevelen !

Wir hatten 10 traumhafte Tage in diesem wunderschönen Haus, das keine Wünsche offen ließ.

Die Betreuung durch die Vermieter Colin und Francesca begann schon Tage vor der Anreise mit hilfreichen Tipps/Hinweisen. Das Haus, mit allem ausgestattet, und die gesamte Anlage waren in einem Top-Zustand. Der Pool wurde jeden 2. Tag gereinigt. Bettwäsche, Hand- und Pooltücher nach 5 Tagen gewechselt. Diese Anlage mit diesen Vermietern können wir zu 100 Prozent weiterempfehlen.
