I’m from New York City and have been coming up to the Catskills my entire life. The farmhouse and barn Apt underwent full renovations in 2021 and is now the perfect blend of modern luxury and rustic farmhouse.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I bought this property because of its ideal setting on the West Kill river where merges with the Schoharie river to form the most epic swimming hole on earth. West Kill is now home to the burgeoning West Kill brewery, Diamond Notch Falls, dozens of hikes and a plethora fine dining. Our house is also down the road from a fantastic convenience and bar store called Van Dusens. If you’d like to ski, our house is equidistant from Belleayre, Hunter and Windham resorts. The town of Phoenicia is nearby and has a Trailways stop with daily service.
What makes this property unique
Our property is waterfront on a swimmable river/lake and it also has a heated swimming pool. Each sleeping room and the living room/kitchen have air conditioning. In the winter months, the house is also well heated. The property is rural and you will feel a world away from the hustle and bustle. But also a quick drive to many notable eateries, hikes, ski resorts and local attractions.
