About the host

We fell in love with the Finger Lakes because it offers the perfect balance of nature, wellness, creativity, and connection. As an artist and designer, I’ve always been drawn to peaceful spaces that inspire creativity, and this property immediately felt special. Tucked near the woods with private lake access, it’s the kind of place where you can truly slow down, recharge, and reconnect with the people around you.
My husband and I chose this area because it feels both relaxing and alive from the beautiful lake views and quiet mornings on the water to the nearby wineries, hiking trails, and charming small towns full of character. Our family also lives in Western New York, so creating a gathering place where everyone could come together naturally became important to us.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it perfectly captures what we love most about the Finger Lakes peaceful nature, beautiful lake views, privacy, and a slower pace that helps people truly unwind. The area feels tucked away and quiet, yet it’s still close to wineries, hiking trails, charming small towns, and everything that makes the region special.
As an artist and designer, I was especially drawn to the creativity and natural beauty of the area. There’s something inspiring about being surrounded by water, woods, and open skies. My husband and I also loved that it felt family-oriented and welcoming, making it the perfect place to gather with loved ones, cook together, spend time outdoors, and create lasting memories.
We wanted a place that felt restorative and connected to nature — somewhere guests could enjoy kayaking, swimming, relaxing in the hot tub, sitting around the fire pit, or simply enjoying the quiet. The combination of lake life, wellness, outdoor adventure, and nearby wine country made this neighborhood feel truly unique.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is the level of care and thought put into every detail. Before owning this home, we stayed in many VRBOs ourselves, and we always noticed how stressful it could be trying to remember everything to pack — from towels and linens to kitchen essentials, lighters, games, or basic amenities. We wanted to create the kind of place we were always searching for: a home that truly feels fully prepared so guests can simply arrive, relax, and enjoy their time together.
From the number of outlets in convenient places to the fully stocked kitchen, cozy gathering spaces, outdoor amenities, games, towels, linens, and thoughtful extras throughout the home, we’ve tried to think through every small detail to make the stay comfortable and easy. Our goal is for guests to feel like they only need to bring themselves and their food.
The home is designed to comfortably welcome everyone from kids to grandparents. The main floor is easily accessible, making it comfortable for grandparents or anyone wanting to relax indoors while still enjoying beautiful lake views and watching the kids swim, kayak, and jump into the lake outside. At the same time, the property is perfect for groups of friends gathering for birthdays, wine weekends, celebrations, wellness retreats, or family vacations where everyone can spend quality time together while still having space to unwind.
The location also makes the property incredibly special. We’re right in the heart of Seneca Lake wine country, surrounded by some of the best wineries, breweries, hiking trails, and outdoor experiences in the Finger Lakes. Watkins Glen is just nearby, making it easy to explore waterfalls, trails, and scenic adventures during the day before returning to relax by the lake, soak in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit, or enjoy what we believe are some of the most beautiful sunset views on Seneca Lake.
