We spent a weekend at this property and it checked all the boxes! It had all the comforts of home while being in a secluded cabin in the woods! The owners were quick to answer any questions we had. We will be coming back again!
If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay in a beautiful cabin, this is your spot. Very easy to find. Close to Anamosa for any quick trips to a store or small town entertainment. The peace and tranquillity was just what we needed. The property was everything the description said. Beautiful area for a campfire. Wildlife. Fun trails to walk. My family had anl experience. And the Host was professional and easy to work with. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!!
We came to Iowa from Ohio for a weekend clinic in Springville. This little cabin in nearby Anamosa was perfect for us! A pair of comfy recliners and throws for morning coffee and an evening movie. The cabin is stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Peaceful wooded setting with a super nice fire pit. We walked around the property and saw lots of deer scrapes! I hope the owner will find the time to build and maintain a walking path around the property because it is beautiful! Anamosa has plenty of dining options and shops and state parks. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick trip to Wapsipinicon State Park to see Horse Thief Cave and Ice Cave. Enter if you dare!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the cabin met most of our expectations. It feels pleasantly secluded while still being easy to find, just a short drive from Anamosa. The cabin has a classic log-cabin feel with modern amenities. The kitchen was well-stocked, there was plenty of seating for our group, and the projection TV worked well. The loft is a nice space for children, with books, games and extra sleeping space. Before our visit, the owners let us know a recent windstorm had blown the roof off the front porch, and we appreciated the advance notice. However, the listing photos no longer accurately reflect the outdoor space. The patio furniture and cushions had been left exposed to the weather and were soaked, dirty and covered with pollen. A weatherproof storage bin would have kept the cushions usable until repairs could be made. The bathroom was clean and functional, but the low ceiling and rainfall shower head make showering uncomfortable for anyone taller than about 5-foot-8. The bathroom sink also splashes easily because the faucet is much too large for the tiny sink. The biggest disappointment was the sleeping arrangements. The queen mattress rested on an undersized frame with plastic storage totes supporting the remainder, leaving about one-third of the bed unstable and unusable. The futon and loft provide additional sleeping space but weren’t comfortable for adults.
