My friend and I choose Chicago to celebrate 55 years of friendship. This rental was a perfect place for us, spacious openness combined with private spaces. The rooftop patio was our favorite spot with city sounds of trains and traffic (barely noticeable inside), views of mixed old and new architecture, and glowing reflections in all the glass buildings. We could walk just a couple of blocks to the Riverwalk and to public transportation. We enjoyed sightseeing on The Big Bus Tour and on the architecture boat cruise (First Lady), attending (and laughing) at a Second City Show. The Bean (Cloud Gate) is a unique sculpture in lovely Millennium Park. The Jane Addams Hill House and Glessner House tours made people and history come alive. Our favorite was the Glessner House. Just to say we did it, we rode the Loop L. Each day ended with a variety of cuisines -- lots of ethnic choices. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Any questions we had were addressed in a timely fashion. They even came to the penthouse to show us how to operate some of the technology. It was nice to get to chat with them. This vacation met our expectations well. It was a special one.
