About this property

Modern 2 bedroom flat in town with lake views

Ideally located just a few minutes from Neuchâtel’s old town, our apartment offers a lovely view of the lake and all the comfort you need for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Little extras that make all the difference:
- FREE public transport and museum access with the Neuchâtel Tourist Card (NTC)
- FREE PARKING throughout the city (parking permit provided)
- Perfect for FAMILIES: trampoline, board games, books, and a small outdoor play area

The house and apartments, built in 1933, have been completely renovated and energy-efficiently refurbished in 2023. The apartment is divided in two by a corridor. On one side are the bedrooms, and on the other are the kitchen and bathroom. The main bedroom has a queen size bed (140x200cm) and a sofa bed (140x200cm). The adjoining bedroom has a king size bed (160x200cm).
The kitchen is fully equipped and available for guests, featuring a combined microwave oven, a capsule coffee machine (Nespresso-style), a toaster, and additional appliances available upon request.
The bathroom includes a shower, a washbasin with a hairdryer, and a toilet.

ACCESS
The flat is located on the lower ground floor, facing south (with view over the lake). There are around twenty steps from the road to reach the flat.

The Neuchâtel train station is a 20-minute walk from the apartment. Alternatively, the “Saars 17” bus stop, served by bus line 101, is located below the apartment (there is a staircase to reach the apartment).

For those arriving by car, two public pay parking lots are close to the apartment (3-minute walk):
- Esplanade du Mail
- Saars 9-17
We have a parking sticker which allows you to park FREE of charge for the duration of your stay in these two parking lots, as well as those in the town of Neuchâtel.


OTHER
A locked garage is available for safely storing bicycles or stroller.

Unfortunately, the apartment is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Access is via stairs, and there are two small steps between the bedrooms and the hallway.

Stay with a beautiful view

We had a great stay. Raphael was a super host, very friendly and helpful.The only negative was that there was a lot of stairs to the bus and a steep uphill walk to the parking lot.This can be a little hard for older people.

Dear Annette, Thank you for your kind review. Indeed, Neuchâtel is built on a hillside, nestled between the Jura mountains and the lake. This unique setting means that many homes, including ours, are accessed via steps — around 80 steps for an elevation of about 15 meters in our case. Neuchatel - A quiet Swiss gem

As an older couple, the flat was perfect for us. It was clean, quiet, recently refurbished and modern, and had a view of Lake Neuchatel with the Alps in the distance. Our host, Raphael, is very responsive and communicative. We used public transportation accessible by a nearby bus stop that made the supermarket, Old Town, and train station easily accessible. However, there is a substantial flight of stairs to the street below. A parking permit is available for parking at the upper level if you choose to drive a car.Neuchatel is a smaller, less touristy city than other parts of Switzerland. The citizens were very accommodating and welcoming, especially considering we don't speak the predominant French. Aside from the city, there are also areas throughout the Canton and beyond that are worthy of exploration. We hiked the Gorges de l'Areuse, sampled Absinthe in Motiers, and visited the Omega Museum in nearby Bienne. We chose Chamonix-Mt. Blanc, France for an over night alpine experience and the Aguille du Midi was spectacular. Given it was May, the tourists were low and the weather was nearly perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better overall experience.

Many homes are accessed via stairs, but the reward is that nearly everyone enjoys stunning views of the lake and the Alps.
