The cabin has a lovely view of the river, which was quite dramatic in the snow. Inside, everything was clean and tidy. Having access to the laundry room to dry post-ski clothing was an added plus.
The house was great, comfy beds, clean, had everything we needed. We enjoyed the new appliances, everything was updated and we loved the outdoor space. Would definitely stay again. Great location on the Au Sable River.
This was by far the nicest and cleanest rentals I have been too and I have been to a lot of amazing rentals. Absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. Definitely recommend this property.

So happy you enjoyed our place! Look forward to your return!
Beautiful and well maintained property on a secluded and peaceful part of the river; while also just minutes from town. House was very clean, adorably decorated, and had everything we needed. We are already discussing our next trip to plan here!

Thank you so much Amber! Can't wait to host you again.
The cabin is well taken care of and very clean. There were 6 of us and it was very comfortable. The owner has it well stocked for anything someone might need. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. I did give 5 stars for skiing but obviously there was no sling to be done because of the time of year. I did not want the rating for the cabin to go down.
Wow! This is an amazing property right on the Au Sable!! We have stayed at numerous riverfront properties and this was (by far) the best value yet!! The entire protect has been meticulously maintained! This might sound odd but the water system was impeccable!!! I will definitely return to this home in the future!!

Hope to see you again!
My brothers, nephew and I had a great time. The cabin was awesome and clean. Fishing was great and just outside the door. We plan on coming back next year.
What a well appointed cabin on the river. We loved the property. Serene and comfortable. The host was a wonderful communicator and accommodated our requests to make for a memorable time on the river. Would return in a heartbeat.
We had a great time at the Tranquil Cabin Retreat. We were just steps away from the amazing Au Sable river. We were able to fly fish daily. Al the amenities were top notch and the property was well kept. In addition to that, the sauna was nice and relaxing. We had a small issue that I contacted the owner about. She had the issue resolved within an hour. Looking forward to staying at this property in the future.

So glad you enjoyed yourselves! Hope to host you again.
Our visit to this beautiful home in the woods, was unbelievable. Clean, easy to get to, quiet, fishing in the backyard, and the decor was top notch. Someone really put a lot of thought into making this little place look cozy. And they sure did a fine job. Thank you for sharing your lovely place with our family.

Thank you so much! We love this cabin and so glad you did too!
This property was all as described in the description. One of the funnest parts was watching canoers go by and get caught up on a log and flipped over. If you are looking for that kind of entertainment. This place is for you also. Pretty good chance we will come back next year. It's really secluded and away from everybody. If you want to get away this is where to go

Beautiful, spotless cabin. Furniture and decor looked new and very thoughtfully put together. Supplies very organized. We had everything we needed. Didn't use the washer and dryer but there was detergent available. Perfect layout for 3 couples. We each had a room. Room with twins is actually a walk through room between the 2 bedrooms upstairs. We didn't need to use that, but would have been great for kids. Downstairs bedroom has a king bed with some serious memory foam. Felt really firm to touch, but it conforms to your body (and more so the warmer it is). You definitely need to turn the heat down at night or the people upstairs will roast (it was toasty upstairs even at 64). As noted in the instructions provided by the host, it takes some jiggling to get the sauna going. But, once it's going, it really got going! Host was very responsive and helpful. Would have made more use of the outside fire pit and dock if it wasn't in the teens and windy. Convenient location for Forbush, Hartwick Pines.
This well-appointed cabin met our needs perfectly. Upon arriving, it was clear that someone had put some love into the cabin. This little gem was recently updated, and the grounds were well-maintained with parking for several vehicles. There was plenty of space to do some practice casting before heading out onto the river. A little dock was easily accessible and the perfect place to enjoy a steaming mug of morning coffee while watching the river babble by. There was a picnic table, charcoal grill, and comfortable Adirondack chairs, with three canoes and a clothesline to dry out our waders. For a family gathering, there is plenty of lawn space (if you wish to bring yard games), and a firepit for marshmallow roasts, with plenty of stacked firewood for our entire stay (including a cart for transporting it from the woodpile to the pit). The cabin itself was pristinely clean, with new appliances (including dishwasher and microwave) and fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker and toaster. Next to the kitchen was a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. The living room was comfortable, with a bedroom (king bed) and full bathroom on the main floor. On the second story were two bedrooms (each with a queen-sized bed), and a loft area (two twin beds) between the bedrooms; all were comfortable. The location is perfectly situated for the purpose of our visit: fly-fishing on the Au Sable in a serene and private setting. We would return in a heartbeat.

I could not have written this better myself! Thank you so much!!!
Ray and Rachel are lovers of the outdoors and travel a lot so they know a thing or two about what guests like! They hold this cabin close to their heart as they put tremendous time into making it perfect.
Why they chose this property
Rachel has been coming to Grayling for 20 years. Her father and family have competed in the world famous AuSable Canoe Marathon race numerous times. The central location is appealing due to so many of the amenities that the State of Michigan offer are all right here...water, nature, skiing, hunting, and fishing. A slice of heaven!
What makes this property unique
This property is unique because of the river. It's tranquility is healing. We have also made forest trails on the property so kids of all ages can explore in the forest. Or walk out 10 steps and you are fishing or kayaking. The AuSable River is one of the most beautiful in the world.
