What a well appointed cabin on the river. We loved the property. Serene and comfortable. The host was a wonderful communicator and accommodated our requests to make for a memorable time on the river. Would return in a heartbeat.
My brothers, nephew and I had a great time. The cabin was awesome and clean. Fishing was great and just outside the door. We plan on coming back next year.
This well-appointed cabin met our needs perfectly. Upon arriving, it was clear that someone had put some love into the cabin. This little gem was recently updated, and the grounds were well-maintained with parking for several vehicles. There was plenty of space to do some practice casting before heading out onto the river. A little dock was easily accessible and the perfect place to enjoy a steaming mug of morning coffee while watching the river babble by. There was a picnic table, charcoal grill, and comfortable Adirondack chairs, with three canoes and a clothesline to dry out our waders. For a family gathering, there is plenty of lawn space (if you wish to bring yard games), and a firepit for marshmallow roasts, with plenty of stacked firewood for our entire stay (including a cart for transporting it from the woodpile to the pit). The cabin itself was pristinely clean, with new appliances (including dishwasher and microwave) and fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker and toaster. Next to the kitchen was a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. The living room was comfortable, with a bedroom (king bed) and full bathroom on the main floor. On the second story were two bedrooms (each with a queen-sized bed), and a loft area (two twin beds) between the bedrooms; all were comfortable. The location is perfectly situated for the purpose of our visit: fly-fishing on the Au Sable in a serene and private setting. We would return in a heartbeat.
Beautiful and well maintained property on a secluded and peaceful part of the river; while also just minutes from town. House was very clean, adorably decorated, and had everything we needed. We are already discussing our next trip to plan here!

Ray and Rachel are lovers of the outdoors and travel a lot so they know a thing or two about what guests like! They hold this cabin close to our heart as they put tremendous time into making it perfect.
Why they chose this property
Rachel has been coming to Grayling for 20 years. Her father and family have competed in the world famous AuSable Canoe Marathon race numerous times. The central location is appealing due to so many of the amenities that the State of Michigan offer are all right here...water, nature, skiing, hunting, and fishing. A slice of heaven!
What makes this property unique
This property is unique because of the river. It's tranquility is healing. We have also made forest trails on the property so kids of all ages can explore in the forest. Or walk out 10 steps and you are fishing or kayaking. The AuSable River is one of the most beautiful in the world.
