Well....Golfing, Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Floating, Boating, Skiing, 4-Wheeling, Snowmobiling, and so much more. This area literally has it all! You can also enjoy yard games, grilling, relaxing or sitting by the fire with friends.
If you are into fly-fishing, you will be walking or drifting the rivers of some of the greatest Americans...Ford, Firestone, The Dodge Brother, Edison, Hemingway, Nash and of course YOU! This area of the N. Branch is artificial fly only and we have a book in the living room to give you guidance and understanding of the river(s). You can fish the North, Main or South Branches. If fly-fishing isn't your bag, you can go to the Public Access at Shupac Lake, Jones Lake, or countless other lakes in the area.
Let's talk about Trails! There are so many snowmobile and ATV trails in the area, you probably cannot hit all of them in a year. Hike trails abound as well. You are a short drive the Hartwick Pines State Park which is our last bastion of Old Growth Pines in lower peninsula.
Paddling is also a lot of fun on the AuSable. We have the fishing book that also points out ingress/egress locations along all the rivers. Don't have a Kayak? Don't worry, we have 2 of them for your use. So, bring a cooler, maybe a few tubes and take a couple hour float or paddle and see deer, eagles, beavers, you name it, the wildlife is all around you.

Jack - thank you for the review. I am glad you and your crew enjoyed The Roth Haus. We really hope you come again. Your were a pleasure to host!
Very nice three bedroom house with the backyard porch and the outside fireplace. On the Au Sable River, excellent location for canoeing, quading, dirt biking, and snowmobiling. Owner was very nice and the house very well equipped. We enjoyed our stay!
The house right on the river was perfect for our family. Spacious bedrooms and common space, a nicely equipped kitchen, and close proximity to a couple of food options. Very clean and comfortable.

What a beautiful property! The house is so cozy, lots of space, slept great!! It snowed and the view was spectacular! Would love to visit again in the summer.
Roth Haus was perfect for our hunting vacation get-away! The home was very comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. There were 6 adults and 3 dogs and plenty of laughs!Tom & Celeste were extremely available to answer any questions we had throughout the booking process and we truly appreciate their time and flexibility. We would certainly come back again and enjoyed the Lovells area. The home is in a beautiful location and gives a lovely relaxing vibe. Truly an outdoor enthusiasts dream spot. We all gave the shower a double thumbs up lol and the dogs gave the house a double paws upWould be a great place to have a family get away with younger kids as well! We also visited the Tavern down the road and the food was delicious with a friendly atmosphere. Thanks again!

Hi Emily - we really enjoyed hosting you and I am glad you liked it! We hope you come back again in 2026!
We had three of us staying for Friday & Saturday. We are some of the instructors for the Mich Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing School. This was our planning meeting for the school.
The cabin also has good access to the river.
The cabin was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Thanks again for staying. We hope you will be back.
Our stay was just what we were looking for! The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we might need. We loved sitting on the back porch, watching the sunrise while drinking our coffee, and watching and listening to nature. We were entertained by a daily flock of wild turkeys crossing the yard. Our dog was very happy and relaxed there and loved being able to swim and play in the river. If you are looking for peaceful and quiet relaxation- this is the place!
We had such a wonderful time at the Roth Haus and the Au Sable River. The house was clean had enough space for all 7 of us and we enjoyed sitting on the back porch when we weren't at the river. We spent each day on the river kayaking, paddling, floating and fishing. From the backyard the river is very accessible and easy to get into. Instructions for the house were clear and easy to follow. The book of the Au Sable River that has a map of float destinations along the river and float times were very helpful. It was so much fun floating down the river with the family (and the river is so clear and clean)! We did walk over to the Riverside Tavern (less than 10 min walk) for a meal and sat on the back patio. Good food, friendly staff, dog friendly in back patio. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the great family memories at the Roth Haus!

Thank you so much Phuong! I am glad you enjoyed it. Now you know why we bought it and love to share the Roth Haus.
Close to snowmobile trails, gas station, restaurant. House is very nice and on a nice setting. If your gonna snowmobile I’d suggest backing in off road which driveway is nice and wide to do. The beds were excellent slept very well after a days riding. Host was on point with communication and instruction
