Lovely, clean, well appointed house conveniently located close to downtown Camden. The host went out of her way to help us. We had all the information we needed before we arrived. The house has lots of room with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen. The fact that we could bring our dog was an added bonus. We would stay there again.
Loved the historic Sherman House. Our family was so pleased with the accommodations. It was cozy and relaxing for our Christmas vacation. Beautiful location and the snow made it even more beautiful! Kate was an excellent host. We would love to return.
The kitchen was adequately stocked for all of our needs. The property was verycomfortable and had a homey feel to it. It was very pet friendly and when one of our pets fell ill Kate offered to call her vet for us. She (Kate) is a very friendly and helpful owner.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming historic getaway. It is a short and pleasant walk to the Camden town center and the harbor. In addition to location and charm, the host is very easy to work with and most eager to make sure you (and your pup!) have all you need. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed having room to spread out, privacy in the spacious and comfortable house with homey decorations. All the charm and history of a 200 year old farmhouse with modern touches for comfort and convenience.
This property is an authentic Historic farmhouse. It is comfortable, clean and quiet. If you’re looking for a modern, high tech setting it may not be your place. It is close to the center of Camden, a small village with shopping, restaurants, hiking and water activities. The surrounding towns also have much to offer. The host was especially pleasant, informative and accommodating. We had a terrific get away.
This was a farmhouse, but I would also add rustic instead of quaint. The host was amazing, and very close to town. Amenities were awesome. However, the upstairs bathroom had no ability to shower, just a freestanding tub with no curtain, so we had to share one bathroom between the four adults. That being said it might have been my fault for not proof reading the listing more carefully.
Kate was a wonderful host. There were so many little things that she did that made it feel so welcoming and a need for nothing. The garland on the banister was a pefect holiday decoration. Comfortable beds, toiletries if they were needed. Very pleased.
We had originally planned to stay one day as we were visiting long-lost relatives and thought we'd meet for lunch. But Camden was such a nice town and the visit was going well, so we decided at the last minute to extend our stay. Kate was very accomodating!
The house was the perfect configuration for our little gang and the location is excellent: one mile from downtown and very quiet even though on the 'main' street.
We hope to visit again.
Directions for check-in were thorough and access was easy. We loved the uniqueness of the property, especially the entry through the barn. Coffee, creamer and sugar provided was well appreciated. The house was comfortable and the games provided were fun. We were in Camden to see our grandson perform with the Maine Allstate band at the HS. The location of the Farmhouse was convenient and close to a variety of shops.
We were unable to stay there because of the quality of air. Before we were there an hour, all 4 of us were having difficulty breathing and developing headaches. We called to alert the home owner who lived on the property and she responded by being very defensive. Which was odd. She apparently visited the rental after we had left and reported that there was no problem and no odor, saying that it had recently been "aired out". As one of the party works in construction and has access to air quality testing apparatus, we are happy to set up a visit to the property during which air quality can be tested. The odor was so strong, we are sure testing, even a week later, would be telling. The owner is refusing to refund the money we paid for a 2 night stay. We would like to take further action.

We’re sorry this group chose not to stay. The guests departed within approximately one hour of arrival and did not request that we address any concerns before leaving. The home had been cleaned and prepared as usual prior to check-in, and it was inspected again immediately after their departure with no issues identified. Refunds are handled in accordance with the agreed booking policy. Our other reviews reflect the consistent experience we strive to provide.
Entering the property through the barn-like garage had us wondering what we would find inside. Opening the door, we were greeted with some old-fashioned charm in a well-equipped and ver comfortable home. The house, which was built in 1820, has a kitchen with nice appliances, stocked with ample pots and pans, serving pieces, dishes and silverware. There was also a cute little porch which was a perfect place to have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The house was extremely well located, just minutes from town. Our host communicated well and entry instructions were easy to follow. Great value, very enjoyable, would definitely return!
