You'll love this cozy 1-bedroom + loft, 3-bathroom townhome with breathtaking views of Lake Superior on the North Shore of Minnesota. Whether you're seeking quality time together or moments of solitude, this charming townhome offers the perfect space for both. Situated in Tofte, MN, it boasts unbeatable lakefront views and is conveniently located near Lutsen Ski Resort, Superior National Golf Course, the Superior Hiking Trail, stunning rivers and waterfalls, and the Sugarbush Trails for cross-country skiing. Plus, the North Shore State Bike Trail runs right outside your door!

The upstairs features a spacious lakeside bedroom and a loft for extra sleeping space. The lower level includes a sofa sleeper for additional guests, a bathroom, and a cozy gas fireplace. With a walkout basement, you can easily step outside to take in the sights, sounds, and fresh air of Lake Superior. Please be cautious around the property, as there are some steep slopes near the lawn and common areas. The stairway leading to the beach is on the east end of the property, but please note that the stairs are removed after Labor Day due to potential ice damage.

This townhome is dog- and cat-friendly, so feel free to ask about bringing your four-legged family member along. However, we kindly ask that pets not be left unattended in the townhome at any time.

The base rate accommodates up to 4 guests, with a maximum capacity of 6. A fee of $20 per night applies for each additional guest over 4.

The description of 3 bedrooms is misleading. There were 2 beds and one sleeper couch. One actual "bedroom". Also the refrigerator did not keep things cold at all. Adding an additional TV would be nice.

Thank you for the feedback. We understand that the description of the sleeping arrangements can be confusing. We want guests searching for the property to know that there are three separate sleeping areas, but we also try to be very clear in both the written description and photos about exactly what those areas are, including which have beds and which utilizes a sleeper sofa. We certainly don't want guests arriving with different expectations. We're also sorry to hear about the refrigerator. We were not able to identify an ongoing issue, and we've had no other reports of it failing to keep food cold since your stay, but we appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we could keep an eye on it. The townhome was beautiful and clean! The kitchen was fully stocked, like the 3 levels our fur babies were very happy and settled right in. Nikki our host was awesome to work with!!!

This condo was in a wonderful location overlooking the water with amazing sunrise views. We loved being able to walk around the property and also along the bike trail. Fireplace downstairs was a welcoming location to sit after a day of snowshoeing. Host did a great job of communicating before and during our stay. We hope to be back to enjoy a different season!

This place was perfect for the weekend! Stayed here for the Moose Mountain Marathon and it was 10 minutes from the start line and 12 minutes from the finish - perfect in between! The communication was great, check-in was easy and they even had Mexican Train dominos - a family favorite!

The views are to die for. It was clean and soaps and towels, ect were very nice.However, we found the pull out coach and easy chair very uncomfortable. In a post about a year ago Nikki made note that this furniture was going to be replaced. She also commented that it was difficult to get delivery in Tofte.The second unfortunate thing that happened is we got locked out. The electronic key pad broke. Eventually Nikki got ahold of grounds keeper whose responsibility is septic and water. But thank goodness he came to help us. We can laugh about how we managed to get in, now...Second door was inoperable, and window next to it had broken crank mechanism. We did leave window open as far as we could open it, which was couple of inches. Paul, grounds keeper, managed to get screen off, remove handle on crank and apply serious tork with pliers to get window to open few more inches. At that point the tiniest sister, probably 85 pounds, slithered through opening. Paul replaced dead bolt and hand set so we were able to come and go through lower level. To be fair, Nikki did give us a partial refund.

Thank you for staying with us and for the nice comments about the views, cleanliness, and amenities. We are truly sorry about the lock issue. It was an unexpected catastrophic failure of a lock that had been working normally with no indication that it was about to fail. Of course, it had to happen on a weekend, when getting someone out quickly in Tofte isn't always easy! Thankfully, Paul came to the rescue. He is incredibly humble and may refer to himself as our groundskeeper, but he helps us with far more than just water and septic and is an invaluable part of keeping our place running. Once your stay was over, he kept working and replaced the remaining locks on the property. We also wanted to recognize the significant inconvenience this caused, which is why we refunded one full night's stay plus 25% of each of the remaining nights. As for the sofa and chair, that's fair feedback. We had sincerely planned to replace the furniture sooner, but finding something that checks all the boxes for comfort, durability, size, and North Shore delivery has proven more difficult than expected. We probably shouldn't have mentioned the replacement until we actually had the new furniture lined up! We're glad you were ultimately able to laugh about the rather creative entry into the house, and, most importantly, that you enjoyed the views and found the home clean and welcoming. We truly appreciate your stay and your feedback.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Great location and dog friendly. Nikki was very responsive. One suggestion, remove the tree/bush it obstructs the view from the lowest level and deck area.

The landscaping around the property is managed by the Home Owner's Association so we don't really have the ability to remove any of the trees/shrubs. We also enjoy the peaceful, unspoiled nature of the area and enjoy relaxing away from busy city life.
