About this property
Coastal Studio with PNW Waterfront Views!
LONG-TERM STAY renters welcomed from October through April. The maximum stay from May through September is 2 weeks. Exceptions must be approved by owner.
THE CROW'S NEST is a large, private 739 square foot 2nd-story studio guest house above the detached garage of a waterfront home. It has 10' ceilings and is fully furnished with a private entrance. From both its upper and lower decks you will enjoy the Shade Garden...a lovely 'cool' place to be in the summer. A walk down along side the main residence will take you to the Waterfront Garden, full of colorful sun-loving flowers and shrubs..and even a palm tree. From here you will enjoy stunning views of Mt Rainier and the bay. We are proud to have been selected to be included in the official Gig Harbor Garden Tour.
Historic downtown Gig Harbor, both quaint and very walkable, is 5-7 miles away. You'll find small coffee shops & bakeries, restaurants, bars, and gift shops along the harbor downtown to enjoy during your stay!

Welcome to the Crow's Nest at Anderson Landing on Wollochet (pronounced wuh-lah'-chet) Bay in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Enjoy any season at THE CROW'S NEST at Anderson Landing. On the second floor of a separate building from the main house you'll have privacy, comfort, a peek-a-boo view and access to one of the most beautiful bays on Puget Sound. Enjoy our no-bank waterfront with view seating, lush gardens, and fire pit on the seawall.
Relax on your private deck where you can greet the morning sun with coffee & enjoy the evening shade with a glass of wine. In the foreground of your view you'll see the quiet lush Shade Garden designed by the owner, a Master Gardener.
The flatscreen TV features Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu & Hulu Live TV (for our sports fans). it is viewable from the sofa, recliner and bed.
Our WiFi is excellent and you'll find the Crow's Nest to be quiet and productive place to work remotely. We consistently host guests who are simply looking for a change of scenery and who enjoy handling their zoom meetings & emails from laptops without issues.
Linens are provided. A small waser/dryer unit is available in the apartment.
To reach the waterfront, walk down the herb-filled path on the right side of our waterfront home. Please feel free to fish or relax on the dock we share with our neighbors to the left.
Use of the firepit and kayaks are free. Life jackets are MANDATORY when using the kayaks and most sizes are available in the large brown storage chest next to the kayaks. You are also welcome to bring your own paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, speedboat, or whatever boats you float.
Even in the WINTER, this cozy coastal retreat offers a quiet tranquility and beauty. Hundreds of unusual and beautiful migrating waterfowl visit these waters only at this time of the year. The sunsets can be quite spectacular and, with the occasional cold snap, we'll get the occasional snow once or twice a year. Our weather is temperate and seldom gets too hot (usually in the 70's and 80's in the the summer) or too cold (with winter averaging in the 40's).
PARKING - we do have one available dedicated parking spot for our renters. If you do have a guest/family member in the area who would like to stop by for the day, it shouldn't be an issue. Any additional parking needs for overnight or longer term, please just inquire with us directly as parking is limited.

About the host
Hosted by Candace Anderson
Bruce Anderson is retired. His hometown is Burnaby, BC, Canada, but became a citizen of the US over50 years ago. His wife of over 53 years, Candace, grew up in the Seattle area. They met in a band that sang its way around the world. Candace is a designer for ShelfGenie Seattle helping clients to maximize space and access. Her favorite thing to do is putter in the garden.
Why they chose this property
There's something about being by and breathing in salt air from seawater that is both peaceful and healing. This property has been completely reworked and rebuilt from the house to the gardens into an eyecatching, comfortable retreat for both the owners and their guests.
What makes this property unique
Living on a body of saltwater with its tides and sea life is very different from living on a lake. Though, like a lake our bay seems intimate and protected, it can be more closely compared to living on a cul-de-sac...only this is a cul-de-sac of water...salt water. Beyond Wollochet Bay is Puget Sound. Beyond Puget Sound is the Ocean. And that's the wonder of it: our little bay eventually leads to the ends of the earth.
