The house was super spacious and perfect for a relaxing week with the family.

We had a great stay at Anderson Island. Super relaxing. The house was clean, spacious and a great place for our family to get away. Our kids loved the bunk beds, and the record player and record collection was icing on the cake. We would finish the day with games while kicking back with some great tunes. We definitely would stay here again.

Fun weekend in a really unique house.

We had a great time in this unique home. It was very comfortable. LOVED the phonograph—we had music playing from the minute we got up until we went to bed! So nostalgic for us 50ish year olds. We were disappointed that the jenga game and cornhole boards weren’t there. I do have a few suggestions: Update the paperwork you send, some of it doesn’t pertain anymore, and I wish I’d known that the parks aren’t dog friendly. The kitchen needs lots more towels and new pots and pans-most are too trashed to use. As far as cleanliness goes-it was pretty clean. But for all the charges, I think the two decks could have been swept, the windowsills in the bedrooms could have the bugs and cobwebs cleaned out, and the shower curtain liner in the master bedroom needs replacing.

Would stay here over and over again!

This house could not have been more perfect for our stay. With 4 adults and 3 kids the layout was ideal. Bunkroom and bedrooms were laid out well and beds were comfy. The kitchen is huge and was great for prepping big family meals. The house was stocked well with everything we needed and we also enjoyed a few records. This area of the island might be my new favorite. So quiet and little peak views of the water through the trees. We say a lot of deer and enjoyed walking to the park and just sitting on the porch with the birds. I highly recomend this property. We had a great stay.

Amazing property!

We’ve VRBOd our way through Europe and all over the States and Canada. This was probably the best property yet. Tastefully decorated. Beyond stocked. We wanted for nothing. Clean. Even when I stripped the bedsheets at end of stay, I was amazed at how new and clean the mattresses were. Speaking of, the beds were so comfy. Great layout for two small families. We each had a bathroom to ourselves and the bunks were great for the kids. The location was fun. Walking to playground for kids, short drive to off-leash dog park, and short drive to a pretty hike down to the beach. (No dogs allowed on this hike or the beach) And last but not least, owner was SO quick with responses to our questions. Thank you so much!!! Will definitely be back.

A pleasant place, but had some issues.

First, what we liked: the Jenga and corn hole are fun additions. The location is convenient, and the king size bed was pretty comfortable. The bunk room is also pretty neat. The owners responded quickly to questions. The issues: 1. Cleanliness. The property did not feel clean (dead bugs, sheets that had to be washed upon arrival due to smell on the smaller adult bed). 2. The property listing lists "television," and "wireless internet" as amenities. There is no television and no wireless internet. We rolled with the lack of TV, but when we arrived I messaged the owner to inquire about Wifi details, and her reply text opened with (this is a direct explicit quote) "No Wifi!!! It's an off the grid retreat!" which landed as a little rude and morally superior considering we were asking for an amenity that is EXPLICITLY listed. Even if it weren't, Wifi is hardly an extreme assumption in 2018 that would call for a four exclamation mark reply. Overall, we wouldn't book again. The area is great but this property was not a good experience.

Loved it.

A great house. Had a lot of fun. Nice stroll down memory lane with the turntable. Although I wasn't sure if I could make it work without a stack of quarters. Maybe it's just my record collection.

Gorgeous house, gracious host

We loved this house, it is so beautiful, hip (without being hipster), and fun. We came with our three teenage boys and did absolutely nothing. It was glorious. The fireplace is big, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well-equiped. (Sharp knives! Such a rarity!) All of the questions we asked were answered swiftly and the people we met in the neighborhood were friendly. I loved sitting out on the back porch at dusk watching the bats. We would definitely come here to do nothing again.

Lovely home on Anderson Island

We had a lovely time staying at this mid century modern home! It was just as described in the posting, easily accessible for my aging grandparents, and well-stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy the island. The home is peaceful and quiet, the ferry ride was easy, and the island is charming and fun to explore. Deirdre was quick to respond and provided excellent recommendations. Overall, excellent stay!

Relaxing family weekend getaway.

We came for a weekend family getaway at the end of September. Island was quiet and relaxing. During our exploration of the island, we came across the annual cider squeeze located in the historical area which was a fun treat. Played several games and enjoyed a cozy fire as it rained on and off during the day. The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We had a great time.

The place to stay when you want to get away!

From the minute we walked in we were all in love with this house. The kids loved the bunk beds so much they wanted to live there forever. It was wonderful to sit on the deck and gaze into the trees, watch some birds, and spot some deer. The record player is such a nice touch and made our time spent cooking and eating even more enjoyable. The lakes were great for swimming. We had a great stay and would definitely come back!

Great Family Time

The weather was great and the house and accommodated our 3 generations well. Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. Lovely high beamed ceilings makes the living area seem very spacious. The record collection is awesome. We were pleasantly surprised to find a couple of Grateful Dead albums. Spent plenty of time on the deck.(Bug spray is a good idea!) enjoying the sun and the quiet. The younger ones enjoyed the lake and digging in the sand. Was somewhat disappointed that there wasn't a more better access to a beach on the Sound. Would definitely book again.

Incredible!

We had an amazing time at this cabin. Three thirteen year olds and two eleven year olds. No wifi:) Rode bikes all over the island, picnicked by the lake, played lots of games and listened to some great albums. It was set up perfectly for our group. The cabin is beautiful. Very clean and had everything we needed. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. We will definitely come again!

Great relaxing place

This home was very comfortable with a spacious kitchen, very comfortable beds, and a mellow retreat feel atmosphere. If you are looking for some relaxation, a good fire in the fire place, and a good book or game, this is the place for you. Anderson Island is pretty sleep - not much to do. However, we were there during the rainy season, so it might be a different story in the summer. This is a lovely place I plan to return to. Deirdre, one of the owners was very responsive to our needs and was very easy to work with.

Perfect place to get away from it all

We spent almost two weeks at this comfortable and welcoming house and loved every minute of it. It held our two families (4 adults and 3 kids) with ease. When we weren't exploring every inch of the island, we enjoyed hanging out around the table playing games and listening to the fantastic record collection. The Giant Jenga on the deck was also a big hit. The spacious kitchen allowed for many cooks! -- but we did sample Big Al's and the Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant too. Mostly we spent our days swimming and picnicking at Lake Josephine, letting the kids free-range on the bikes, exploring the parks. We were lucky that our first trek down to Andy's Marine Park was at low tide -- what a stunningly beautiful spot, full of sand dollars and other creatures. The dogs loved Andy's Wildlife Park, and meandering along the beach at the Marina. Three hardy souls took the canoe and the kayak out into the Sound (we had gorgeous weather), paddled around the southern tip of the island, and sampled salt-blown blackberries on the shore. (The rest of us enjoyed the canoe on the lake!) We brought a laptop and small projector with us, so we were able to have a couple of family movie nights (the large wall next to the fireplace was perfect for a 'big screen'). This was just the right amount of technology for us, but the general store does have free wifi if you need it. Our one day off-island was spent exploring funky Olympia; we had planned to spend a day in Seattle, but decided it was just too nice being out of our cars, and being with each other in the summer sun. If you are looking to get away from it all, and enjoy a quiet, relaxing time with loved ones, this is the perfect house for you.
