MORE... Meiji-Jingumae Station is situated in the Omotesando/Harajuku area. This station belongs to the Tokyo Metro network and is served by the Chiyoda Line and the Fukotoshin Line. The Chiyoda Line runs from Yoyogi-Uehara through to Ayase. The Fukotoshin Line runs from Shibuya to Wakōshi. These lines make it convenient to travel to great sightseeing places such as Shibuya (although walking distance from the apartment), Roppongi, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, Ueno, Asakusa, etc ...
The location of the apartment is extremely convenient for anyone wanting to visit on foot OMOTESANDO, HARAJUKU, YOYOGI PARK, AOYAMA or even SHIBUYA. It is right next to the JR Harajuku Station which is part of the Yamanote Line. Across the road from both of these stations is the famous Takeshita Dori shopping area, home to the Lolita Goths and fashionistas. The aptly named Meiji-jingumae Station is about a one minute walk to the Meiji Shrine. This is a must-see for anyone traveling in Tokyo. To get to the shrine turn right out of the station and follow the signs. Meiji-jingumae Station also offers easy access to Yoyogi Park which is great for sightseeing on the weekend. The entrance to the park is just a short two minute walk to the right of the station. The station is also located on the Omotesando Avenue which leads you straight to the Aoyama district in just a few minutes walk...! There you will find high-end boutiques and restaurants of all kinds.
Getting Around: Your Guide to Harajuku’s Stations Harajuku Station has many exits, each one leading to a different experience. For newly-arrived tourists, this can be overwhelming. Let us guide you!
In Harajuku, you can visit huge fashion buildings populated by young adults and teenagers, or you can explore the backstreets to find thrift stores and cafes. This area is popular not only for its shopping, but also for its proximity to Meiji Jingu Shrine and Yoyogi Park.
Many trains cross paths in the Harajuku area. If you want to maximize your time in the area, you’ll want to plan which station and which exit to use in order to make the travel process smoother. We’ll tell you how to do just that, by introducing Harajuku’s train stations and exits.
1. JR Yamanote Line “Harajuku Station” Omotesando Exit
Getting Around: Your Guide to Harajuku Station
The JR Yamanote Line’s “Harajuku Station” is famous worldwide. The Omotesando Exit, towards Shibuya and Shinagawa, is teeming with shoppers and travelers from afar.
Upon exiting the station, you’ll be greeted by rows of gingko trees that line the path to Meiji Jingu Shrine. “Sando” (参道) refers to a path leading to a shrine or temple. That’s why this area is called “Omotesando.”
5 minutes down Omotesando towards Aoyama, you’ll find the fashion center that stands as a beacon of youth culture, “Harajuku Laforet.” You can shop for anything from reasonably-priced brands for students to mode fashion like Vivienne Westwood.
This is the crossroad in front of Meiji Jingu Shrine. On the right is a somewhat narrow street. This street actually connects Shibuya to Harajuku in what is known as “Cat Street.”
The essence of “Urahara” fashion (a subculture born on the backstreets of Harajuku) is packed into Cat Street’s shops. This type of Japanese street culture arose in these backstreets during the 80’s. It’s a popular destination for those crazy for fashion and music even today.
2. JR Yamanote Line “Harajuku Station” Takeshita-dori Exit
Harajuku Station’s Takeshita-dori Exit leads towards Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. You can see the famous street right as you exit the ticket gate.

The place was perfect and location was the best! Our only hitch was a delay in communication, but it had to do with international travel. We loved this place.
This flat is in a great location super close to Harijuku station but in a really quiet back street. The apartment is comfortable with two double beds and a well appointed kitchen. There is an espresso machine but no pods left for guests so bring your own if coffee important.
Miyo’s apartment was amazing. It was in the perfect location, close to everything. The space was also perfect for my husband and my son; with a king size bed for me and my husband who need a larger bed for our height. Miyo was super responsive and a great host. We definitely recommend the apartment and will be staying here again in the future.
Really excellent stay at this well appointed apartment for 3 adults (my husband and I and our adult daughter). The location is perfect, close to trains, multiple restaurants and shopping. Very quiet, in spite of being close to major tourist streets. Made for an excellent home base for our week in Tokyo. Host provided excellent information and was very responsive. Highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at the apartment in Shibuya/Harajuku. The place was exactly what we needed for our family of 4. It is a lovely property nestled in the middle of a bustling area and proximate to so many things / it was fabulous. The host was very responsive to any questions and made everything easy!

Dear Isabel,
You were perfect guests. Thank you for your kind review.
Good spot in Harajuku close to shopping and restaurants.
The place was exactly as described, was a good fit for my wife and two elementary age boys. A great location for shopping. Tons of restaurants within walking distance and train stations. The place was clean quiet and comfortable. Miyo responded quickly to any questions and was accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your very positive review Marco, it was great hosting you and your family !
We stayed 7 nights and it was a great 2br apartment with everything we needed. Large bathroom, 2 large beds, full kitchen, and washing machine. It is literally 50 steps from bustling Takashita street in Harajuku. Lots of great shopping, restaurants and just a short walk to Harajuku station to explore Shibuya, Shinjuku, central Tokyo, Asakasa, Akihabara. Would definitely stay here again.
The apartment is super cute and brilliant in its location. The Harajuku district is steps away, filled with local shopping and experiences. And the train is also a quick jaunt. Lots of amenities (that we didn’t use - we were on the go every moment), fun decor, and couldn’t pass up an unwind on the balcony! As mentioned in the title, I’ve liked many places I’ve stayed - but I would most definitely book this space again.

As listed, this property is quite roomy for Tokyo. Maintained cleanly, We are a group of two adults and two children, and we fit comfortably in their two beds. It is located a minute walk from Takeshita-dori, the most Kawaii street in the world. But, almost no street noise as it is off main streets. I do not think you can find any place closer to the central Harajuku than this. The check-in and out was easy and smooth.

Thank you for your review that describes very well our home :-)
Cute, convenient apartment in the heart of Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo, only steps from the fascinating Takeshita Street. The location was incredibly convenient for so many Tokyo sights - this was definitely the place to be! The apartment has everything you need - even a balcony overlooking the neighborhood. My only recommendation for the owners would be to provide detailed instructions for guests. We had never encountered a refrigerator with controls before and struggled to turn it on. We were also not familiar with the hot water system and were never able to get hot water in the shower (here's to baths!). Everything else was easy, including check in, and the owners were very flexible with that. Great experience :)

Thank you for your beautiful review. We are taking your recommendations to improve our service.
We are looking forward to having you again :-)
