Such a great place to stay and get away from it all! The house is perfect and has all the basics. The beach is pretty much right out the back door. The views were great. We had such a great time!
The atmosphere of a rustic beach cabin with all of the conveniences of any comfortable home. Like a private dark sky park. We really enjoyed out time and would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed! We love it there as well!
Excellent vacation property! Best view of the beach and a wonderful vintage cabin fully renovated. If you need peace and quiet, this is the place for you! We look forward to our next visit.
This was our third year staying at this property and we had a great time. The cabin is always very clean and cozy. The view from the deck can’t be beat and the beach is great for swimming. Can’t wait to return.
absolutely the best place we've ever stayed. we've vacationed all over the UP and none come close to this beautiful cabin. simply put, the total experience is at the top of our chart for places to go...
Beautiful wooded setting on a great beach. Even though it was a bit cool the kids got a lot of swimming in. The cabin is cozy but comfortable with a group. Everything you need is there.
This was the 3rd time we've stayed at Chris's beachfront home. Everything was perfect - from the chrck-in process to the morning we left. Frosted mugs in rhe freezer to firewood that is provided - and just steps from beautiful Lake Superior.
My husband and I loved our time in Big Bay and it was a perfect get away! So quiet with fall colors. Great fire place with word burning stove on cold nights. Chris was super responsive and available at all hours
This was our second stay at this house. The location cannot be beat! The beach is sandy and private with amazing views of sunrises and sunsets. Easy drive to many waterfall hikes and also Marquette for shops and restaurants. The hosts were quick to answer any questions.

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for the good review:) But just curious about the one star?
Thanks, Chris
We had a wonderful stay, this is a very nice cabin with just the right mix of old and new to keep it charming and comfortable. Loved swimming in the bay and walking the beach. Took naps on the porch listening to the waves. Thank you.
We have stayed here several times over the last 15 years and never regretted it. The Bay is so beautiful, and to swim in Lake Superior is a real treat. The location is quiet and a good jumping point for day trips to other sights in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The cabin works very well for our family with a nice blend of "cabin feel" and modern touches. Chris is a great host and very responsive to any questions. Highly recommended!
Location, location, location!! This cabin sits right on beautiful Lake Superior. It was well stocked and very clean. Walking distance to the cute town of Big Bay and easy driving distance to other cool stuff (sugar loaf mountain, picture rock, Marquette etc). Would definitely recommend.

Thanks for the great review Darlene:)
We are glad you had a wonderful time! We love it there too!
Did you mean to do one star or five stars?
We had an amazing week at the beach. Everything about this location was perfect. We loved the beach (even though weather was cooler than we would have liked- didn't stop us from swimming almost every day). The cabin is beautiful and clean. Chris and Gina have thought of everything to make for a perfect vacation. Thanks for sharing!
This is the second year we've stayed at Chris's and it's been THE BEST location and cabin we've stayed at in the UP.
The cabin is quaint, very clean, has the feeling of the northwoods and is just steps away from an amazing beach. You can see the sunrise and sunset - walk three miles along the bay (round trip) and see just a handful of people. Chris provides everything - from towels and firewood - to frosted mugs in the freezer!
My family had a great time at the house. The description of the house is accurate and the pictures do not do it justice. We were looking for a place to disconnect and this was it. We were very fortunate to have excellent weather the week we were there, but there were plenty of movies and games should we have had to spend more time inside. The only complaint from my oldest child was that cell reception with our provider (AT&T) was spotty. Though, my wife and I considered that a benefit. We will be back.

Thank you David and family! So glad you had a great time! It is our favorite place to be as well. Verizon is definitely better there for service, but it is nice to disconnect:) Look forward to seeing you again. Gina and Chris
I told my husband that I wished I would have recorded our entry into the CUTEST cabin ever! We loved every minute of our week vacation, celebrated our 30 wedding anniversary enjoying the cozy, lovely, super clean cottage on the most pristine beach on Lake Superior. Thanks to the Bouws fam for sharing their slice of UP MI heaven. We will be back :)!
We had a great time at the beach house. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the covered porched and spent many hours just staring at Lake Superior from it. A great place to decompress.
Right on the edge of Lake Superior, this house is the perfect place to disconnect and recharge. We had a wonderful time. The house was clean, the location perfect with a pristine beach and an absolutely amazing view of the nighttime sky. We will return.
