We stayed 7 days in August and it was perfect. It was a peaceful and quiet location, we saw lots of deer, and the bird watching was great! We checked out some of the nearby parks and it’s an easy drive to Marquette.
This was our third trip to this property and my family and I had another terrific stay! The property was clean, we had everything we needed, and the host is always available and communicative.
The cabin is beautiful and located perfectly right on the lake. I've been to Big Bay many times and this place definitely rated among my favorites. I stayed here with my sister for a little famly retreat but would accommodate a larger group and also be a wonderful romantic getaway with a loved one as well.
Our family of 6 had a great stay at Dave's cabin. The cabin and location we're picture perfect with all the amenities. My husband broke his ankle the week prior to our one week vacation. I was so close to canceling and taking the loss but man are we so happy we didn't! We had campfires , swam, explored, fished and more. We would love to come back to visit again soon.
The cabin was exactly as described. We had a great week in the area hiking, kayaking, and checking out the museums and local history. Will definitely be back!
This was our second time staying here and we look forward to coming back again to this peaceful, beautiful place. It’s just a 30min drive into Marquette, a charming place to walk around, shop, and eat. But we really came back to recharge in the quiet - the walks, listening to the loons, the amazing sunsets, etc. The patio, porch, and living room all provide comfort and great views. We made almost all of our meals in and the kitchen had everything we needed. Highly recommend sleeping up in the loft bedroom to enjoy the sunrise/sunset.
This was our second year here and it was just as great as our first stay! Cabin was clean, had everything we needed, and the location is wonderful. It is a great place to come back to and relax after a day of UP adventures! We plan to return again soon!
Staying on the shore of Lake Superior was an awesome experience. We were able to just sit and watch the waves roll in or on a calm day, we went kayaking.
There are lots of hiking trails within a short drive towards Marquette too.
The neighborhood is secluded and quiet. A great place to go for some relaxation!
This is a wonderful cabin in the best location ever. Check in was smooth and easy and the cabin itself is amazing. Well stocked, clean, and wonderful location right on Lake Superior. Wood burning fireplace, sun room and great deck overlooking the lake. Will definitely return.
The house was just as advertised. Beautiful home and very worthy of the 5 stars. The interior of the house was very clean and the views were spectacular. The area surrounding the house was perfect for our morning walks. The home is situated close to beaches and some beautiful waterfalls. A great week was had by my wife and I.
Absolutely stunning view!! House is wonderful. Well-stocked for cooking. Beautiful sunsets. Sand beach just down the road at Burns Landing. If you want to chill and decompress, you won’t find a better place! LOVED IT!
A great place - so peaceful, only short drives to loads of hikes and just a 30min drive to Marquette for anything you might want/need.House is lovely and comfortable: kitchen had the equipment we needed to make all our meals in, comfortable beds (with amazing view from those in the loft), gas grill, and a wonderful 3-season porch. We spent a lot of time just sitting and watching and listening to the lake from the living room, the porch and deck. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back!

Absolutely beautiful, stunning & serene.
This was by far, one of the best trips my husband, 3 sons and I have had. The home was warm & inviting and a beautiful setting right on the banks of Lake Superior. The furnishings were clean & well equipped. We definitely want to revisit again! Thank you to the property owner Dave for being so accommodating and to Kristen, the property manager for meeting us to help find our way and give a hand when we needed it.
Clean and neat with all sorts of thoughtful items like kayaks, firewood, lighters, and nice linens. Our only negative is the flukey weather was an unusual 95 degrees and there was no functioning cooling system. Once the temp dropped into the 50s it was perfect.
We had a wonderful week together at the cabin, enjoying outings to go hiking, and kayaking with the provided kayaks on Lake Superior. The screened room was really a nice way to sit and relax without mosquitos. I can’t remember if the listing specified this, but there is one main level bedroom, and an upstairs loft room with two beds to sleep four in that loft area, 6 total. We cooked for ourselves (Walmart pickup 45 min away in Marquette) and found the kitchen well stocked and a good home base. The deck view is beautiful and the area is peaceful. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night!
We love this place! View and access to the lake are amazing. It’s quiet and you hear waves and lake breeze. BBQ, fire pit, watching stars. Kitchen had lots of pots and pans and practical for simple meal prep. The road is good for jogging and walking. The upstairs balcony is open, so there’s not loads of privacy but our kids worked remotely using the wifi. We loved the lighthouse tour Sunday afternoon. For those of us not working we were outside all day and enjoyed the cosy, clean camp at night. It was a great week.
The outside lake views are great. Was visiting the area for fall colors. The sound of the large October waves made great sleeping. Quiet area around the cabin, lots of deer nearby. The beds were comfortable. The cabin was clean. Plenty of space in the kitchen. Everything was great. A few end of season maintenance recommendations: The bathroom door needs readjustment, hard to close. The stairway to the loft has a guard rail but really needs a standard grip handrail for safety. Other than that no negatives.
Great stay. Cabin was beautiful and roomy. The view here is everything. Each day of our week stay brought different weather and lake conditions. Master bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, just a note for those up often. The owner was very open with this before we booked. The kitchen was easy to cook in and had all the needed pots pans etc. Who would have thought we would have wanted a fire in the fireplace in July, but with a couple days of rain and temps in the 50's it made it so enjoyable to be inside. It was one of our favorite parts and Dave keeps wood onsite which is so nice.On the warm days there are trees great for a hammock, if you pack one, I did. The deck was wonderful to sit and grill while looking at the lake. There is one neighbor next door and they were very friendly and quiet so no concern. Wildlife is around, we saw so many deer, a bald eagle, lots of rabbits, birds, ducks, chipmunks etc. The little town of Big Bay is charming. We mostly cooked at home but did eat out at both restaurants and the food was excellent. Don't miss the ice cream place either. We may have gone 4 of 7 nights.Great stay, loved the cabin and area. We would definitely book here again.
A very nice property on a quite road on the peninsula outside of Big Bay, Michigan. The cabin faces west overlooking the bay, so beautiful sunsets every night it's not completely cloudy are guaranteed. Keep an eye out for "Scarlett" the red squirrel. She'll be running around on the deck at times and chattering in the pine trees around the cabin. The week my wife and I were there it got to near 90 degrees, but the inside of the cabin was always comfortable, never above the low 70s. The surrounding area is quite and the property manager lives next door, so if there's any problems they can be resolved quickly. (We had none.) All in all a clean and quite place to stay. Thanks Dave for sharing your property. *****
