Very nice house. The view off the back deck is spectacular (if you like looking across a forest valley and listening to the birds chirp). We were even visited by a family of deer one night. Very relaxing atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay. However, please be careful retrieving the key from the lockbox. There is a small outdoor light fixture right next to the lockbox and while attempting to open the box, 4-5 wasp came out of the light fixture and stung my husband in the eye and face. Also, be aware that both bathrooms have a clear glass window where the shower and bathtub are located with no coverings over them, this was very inconvenient for us.

It was very obvious you enjoyed your stay Frat House Style. You didn't follow your directions in regard to check in instructions and I should have know I had trouble coming when you unintentionally failed to hang up the phone and I heard a voicemail with your husband speaking firmly what would happen if you SLAPPED him again. My home is rented for a max of 6 guests and you obviously had many more as you had used every sofa as a bed as well! I have never seen a guest leave so much garbage chunked on the terrace some bagged some not. It took three SUV loads to remove it all from the property. I had told you when the garbage pickup was in your mid stay but you obviously didn't listen to that! Dealing with cleaning up all your mess was like a Mike Roe Job as it was all filled with maggots! You literally in all my years of homes on VRBO were the worst guest ever. Please do not try to return!

No doubt. The property is very nice, modern, and clean… which is my number one pick. Since the outdoor balcony overlooks the river and the mountain, and the bathroom is in a natural setting, don't expect a curtain in the bathroom. For sure, some people love taking a shower looking out at nature. I'm not especially, if I'm with other people… in-laws and a kid. We decided not to use the outdoor balcony, especially seeing the section of the shower in case someone is taking a shower. This is to avoid any unexpected incident. I was informed by the host that there are some parts of the house or the basement is still a work in progress which we don't care bout the basement but did not expect any open electrical socket in the main master bedroom. - electrical tape would be nice if unfinished. Last but not the least is the kitchen window without any curtain that was too hot in the afternoon due to some light coming through. We ended up putting up a bathroom curtain to get shade. This simple note doesn't affect us since we enjoyed the place and location. I will definitely stay again if will give the opportunity to visit the area in the future. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. I am perplexed as to why as there are two outdoor terraces that you did not use the one that is meant for overall use vs the one that is meant for the master suite on the oppisite end of the house and seperated by the Sun Room. You were made aware that you were not renting the unfinished basement and that I use that as a repair and storage area for different design projects that I work on from time to time when the home is not rented. I will have to check into this electrical issue you speak of as I am unaware of what you speak. I think you may a guest that is better suited for a Hotel vs a Vacation Rental. Best regards.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is one of the best kept "secrets" in Birmingham as it is so centrally located in what is almost like a Nature Preserve right in the middle of the greater metro Birmingham Area. Living is the woods close in is fantastic. The river and the views give you the feel of a stay in Highlands.

What makes this property unique

The location. River frontage on The Cahaba River. All the wildlife is wonderful to watch. You can't find anything this close in that offer all these wonderful things this close in that Vacation Rentals are allowed.
