Located in Wyndahm Flagstaff, enjoy this 1400 square foot 2-bedroom house with a bonus loft. Each bedroom contains a king bed and the loft has 2 twin beds, so guests can enjoy privacy. The property features a hot tub, WiFi, and a living room with a gas fireplace, a sofa bed so it sleeps up to 8. There's a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a closeted washer/dryer. Our place is best for a week stay over New Years holiday. Minimum stay is 5 nights. The wallof windows reveal a panoramic view of Mt. Eldon framed by ponderosa pines. The kids can walk from the back deck to sled or tube - with supervision- on the hillside.
There is skiing right now at AZ Snowbowl, with a record early opening, 11" of fresh snow on top of a 14" base, and more snow is expected. Usually in the holiday season, a free bus (from town) saves skiers the 20 mile drive to the ski area - which now has a gondola. Two cross-country centers offter rentals and groomed trails: AZ Nordic Village and Mormon Lake Ski Touring Center.
Have your National Park Pass handy. It's less than 8 miles to Walnut Canyon, and Picture Canyon is even closer. The Museum of Northern AZ is highly regarded. With Sunset Crater Volcanic N.P., (16 miles away) the name says it all. The popular Grand Canyon Train boards 39 miles away in Williams. Be sure to get reservations.
