This delightful villa is tastefully furnished with 2-bedrooms (KING and 2 twins), 2-full bathrooms, linens and beach towels are provided. No need to bring anything for the fully stocked kitchen with breakfast bar and dinning table. The laundry room has a full size washer/dryer with storage and ironing board. The one level villa has a front and back patio to enjoy and relax with your morning coffee. Paved driveway for 2 car parking. Walk a half a block to gulf of Mexico & private beach for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, shelling, shark's teeth, and a beach walk to Sharky's Pier. 1 mile walk to Downtown Venice with shops, restaurants, library, entertainment, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, and basketball courts. 1 mile from the Venetian Waterway bike path for miles of trails. Beach getaway

Great location to the beach; just quick walk. Easy walk/bike ride to downtown Venice and around the island. Home is well stocked. Owner has excellent follow up

Location was excellent.

Short walk to beach access. Duplex was good size for four guests. Some updating would be appreciated (living room upholstery, washer and dryer are very noisy) and adding a second television is a must. Swiffer for daily clean up would have come in handy. Listing description was accurate, photos properly reflected the amenities. Very clean upon arrival. Owner checked in with us and was very friendly. We would recommend this property. See no reason why it couldn't be pet friendly. (that may prohibit our return) Restaurants we would highly recommend: Rosebud's, Crows Nest, Bonefish Grille and Luna's were all great. Pop's Sunset Grille was fun. Bresslers for ice cream. Ciao Gelato yummy too. Very disappointed in Sharky's. Must see and do: air boat ride at Myakka State Park, Ringling Brothers Museum, Casey and Siesta Key, Nokomis Grove, public golf, car shows, magic act on Miami, Venice Ave from one end to another, Sunsets at Golden Beach, shelling.

Great location, clean and well stocked

We had a wonderful time staying here! It is just steps to the beach and a short drive to town and all the shops and restaurants. And we loved the pool! The home is well stocked and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. We can’t wait to visit again!!

The property is ideally situated and only a short walk to the private and beautiful golden beach. We found the house to be clean, well equipped and perfect for two guests. The owner is very friendly and easy to deal with and we can thoroughly recommend this rental.

Relaxed, Retired, and Renewed

We arrived at our rental on December 1st and opened the door to a wonderful month of relaxation and walking to the beach each day and finding that we had everything we needed to enjoy the sunshine,beach and meals in a very well equipped kitchen..with restaurants close by.we just needed the food for the kitchen. We were very close to shopping and the unique little town was within walking. We even had games and cards on the shelves to play in the evening and we did....we want to return again this coming year...just for a longer time as the month went by very quickly.....thanks for making us feel at home.... we were thankful that no pets are allowed ...that and the "no smoking" rules helped our health issues and we definitely appreciated how truly clean it was. Also we wanted a "quiet" place and this is truly very peaceful and the sunsets are just steps away. We had everything we hoped for and more, everyone was friendly in Venice and there was plenty to keep us busy if we wanted that.Lots of memories were made and will be remembered...this is what we needed!!

We enjoyed another stay at the Blue Door this year. We enjoyed once again the delightful accomodations provided here. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The sunsets at the beach are beautiful and always well attended by residents and other visitors. The neighborhood is peaceful and serene. Its a short walk to the beach in very lovely surroundings. We will visit again next year.

Beach House on lovely Golden Beach Blvd.

We enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The location is excellent, just a short 1/2 block walk to the private beach access in a quiet neighborhood of lovely homes and beachfront condos. The very low traffic streets are great for walking or biking, yet it is close to shopping and restaurants etc. The house is spacious and well maintained , and the pictures are quite accurate, although the appliances are old and washer and dryer are quite noisy. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cooking utensils, and a linen closet held extra sheets and plenty of towels. The owners are very pleasant to deal with. We would stay here again ( although it is already rented for March 2015).

Golden beach

Our duplex on golden beach in Venice Isles was very nice. The descriptor "steps from the beach" really should have said a block from the beach. We would have enjoyed a second TV set and because my husband is quite tall, he found some of the furniture uncomfortable. The area of Venice is very convenient to all of the activities we enjoy, walking, biking, golfing, etc. The property was clean and well maintained; however we would have appreciated the rules to the recycling in Venice because we were issued a warning about what and how we recycled. Great restaurants and friendly people are found throughout the area. The owner's mother lives in the house next door and she was delightful and very helpful.

What a great find !!

What a great excape from the harsh winters of Chicago. We really lucked out when we found this wonderful beach house on Venice Island. Just what we were looking for.....Roomy, clean, tastefully decorated, walking distance to the Gulf/beach, short walk to town/shops and restaurants, library, and even a live theater. It's located in a very quiet area, but activities are very close by. Big bonus that it's non-smoking!! We will definitely stay here again.
