Beautiful lake house with a gorgeous view. The weather was too chilly to enjoy the outdoor space fully but the dock and porches are awesome! The house is super clean and we love the decor. Everything looked fresh and new. A few tricky things- the master is down a very narrow spiral staircase. It’s difficult to carry coffee or anything really and walk down the steps. And the noise from upstairs travels down the staircase since there isn’t a door to close for the master. The bathroom on the main floor has a toilet that is situated in such a way that you have to sit on it sideways. There can be a sewer smell in the downstairs bathroom under certain circumstances. Again everyone loved the house and the lake. There were just a couple of places where things were not super practical. Thanks so much!!!!

Relaxing Family Time

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful Claytor Lake property with our grown children. The house was perfectly situated right on the water with everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation. The Good: Prime lakefront location - Direct lake access via ladder from the property made swimming and water activities incredibly convenient Amazing outdoor spaces - The brand new 2-story deck was a highlight, especially the sundeck on top which offered great views. The two screened porches became our favorite hangout spots and provided a nice escape from bugs while still enjoying the outdoors Comfortable accommodations - Bedrooms were comfortable and well-appointed for our family group Family-friendly amenities - Board games were provided, which was perfect for evening entertainment Wildlife viewing - We were treated to seeing a mother deer with two fawns multiple mornings - such a special experience! Great location - About 30 minutes to Radford for dining out, and the drive was scenic and pleasant Things to Know: Bring your own beach towels and floats for lake activities (not provided) The lake access and water activities were the main attraction - perfect if you love spending time in the water Overall Experience: This property delivered exactly what we hoped for in a lake vacation. The combination of direct water access, comfortable indoor spaces, and those wonderful screened porches made for the perfect family retreat. The new deck was clearly a recent addition and really enhanced the outdoor living experience. We spent hours playing in the lake and relaxing on the porches. Would definitely recommend this property to other families looking for a true lake house experience at Claytor Lake. The peaceful setting, wildlife sightings, and easy lake access made this a memorable vacation for our family. Would we stay again? Absolutely!
