Wow, what a VIEW! This property was perfect and exactly as described. We used this as a home base to visit our kids at Radford University and it could not have been any better. It is a short drive to RU and VT with plenty to do in the area. The kitchen is large and worked great for feeding some hungry college students. The windows have blinds but you will not use them, the view from every window is beautiful! We will be back in season when we can take advantage of the lake and fantastic beach.
Very clean and room for everyone to eat dinner together! I personally liked the sign that assured me that all linens and bedcovers are washed between each guest (unfortunately this hasn’t been the standard with other rentals I’ve stayed at). Good size kitchen and beautiful lake view. Note that the two full baths are en-suite to the king and single queen bedrooms if you’re with a group that isn’t as comfortable with each other. I would definitely stay here again!
We brought the whole family with 3 kids under 11. The decks, view, and swimming dock were huge hits! Plenty of room and easy access to all that Claytor Lake offers!
We loved our stay at Claytor Lake! The house was extremely clean. Fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable house for a long weekend getaway. Host was very pleasant to communicate with.
The house had absolutely everything we needed and the owner was very responsive to everything! The house was perfect for a short family get away with our mostly adult children before everyone goes to back to college and work. Thank you!

We stayed at this gorgeous property to celebrate our daughter's graduation from VA Tech. The home was spacious, clean, and cozy - tons of room to gather with friends and family in an open design. The views of the lake were spectacular, with 2 wrap-around balconies, a beach, and a fire pit. We also brought our dog and she really enjoyed herself too. The host was responsive and allowed us a change in our reservation within 2 weeks of our stay. The home is only 30 minutes from VT. We all want to return! Highly recommend!
Nice home with wonderful views. Plenty of beds for everyone. No extras in the home like tissues, sponge for dishes, foil/wrap, or board games. Need to bring your own.DRIVEWAY is TREACHEROUS and should have a warning! Rocks were very loose on a steep, winding driveway. With both a car & van, we had trouble leaving. Both almost went off edge. Neighbor parks right at end of driveway, so no room for error at the top once the wheels catch.
The home was comfortable and definitely one of the cleanest spots we've ever stayed on vrbo. There are three decks, all of which have great views, and the middle deck is screened and enclosed so that you can sit out there with pets or small children and not have to worry about them wandering off. The owners had left a fire ready to light in the fire pit, and we sat by the lake and had a bonfire on our first night there. There are two tables on the main floor, which was perfect for board games the following night. The lake itself is calm and we took our kayaks out both days to explore along the edges. We also saw fish in the water and several fisherman, so would assume you could fish there if you had a license. Things to note- as others have mentioned, the driveway is steep. Our truck and little subaru made it with no problem, but it might be trickier for a vehicle that wasn't all-wheel drive. There are also a lot of stairs to get down to the lake itself. However, they are wide, have a handrail, and are lit up at night. Even my husband (who doesn't walk well) was able to maneuver up and down them to join us at the bonfire. The home was peaceful yet had enough to entertain the "kids" (older teens and young adults), and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in that area
