Nestled on the south side of Mt. Sherman and just minutes from downtown Jasper, this delightful cabin offers a cozy retreat for guests. The cabin is small, semi off grid and very quiet and secluded, with a functional mini kitchen and outdoor seating. One queen bed is on the main floor and the other sits on the large loft. The third bed, a twin, is in a small loft and is best suited for someone agile! The cabin water source is rain catchment so guests are asked to be conservative with water usage, especially during dryer months. We have a firepit, cut wood, a charcoal grill and a hammock available for your use outside. Our beautiful mountainside hobby farm offers an experience like no other. The cabin sits beyond a large privacy fence so you have your own yard. A small herd of goats roams freely keeping weeds and brush under control, while our chickens live a happy life free range pasturing during the daylight hours. Our 2 Great Pyrenees pups watch over the animals with a faithful eye and greet our guests with love! Experience the magic of Jasper at our cabin.
**Details to note: While this is a beautiful mountainside spot that means getting up the mountainside. The driveway up is steep gravel with some rough spots which is par for the course in Newton County. Low-clearance vehicles are not recommended. AWD is advised but not strictly necessary, you can make it up in low gear. ** Cell service is basically non-existent. We have Starlink internet on the property, which provides Wi-Fi both in and out of the cabin.

The cabin is just what we needed. We came up to enjoy nature, spend a few days on the Buffalo, and do a little hiking. The cabin was well equipped for all our needs. Nicole was very gracious and easy to reach for any concerns. She addressed them quickly and I would definitely come again.
This is a great place to get away. I used it as a base for hiking (great trails in a 20 or so mile radius) and for some personal retreat time. It is a hobby farm so you'll see friendly dogs, chickens and goats. I was surprised by a noisy flock of guinea hens? wandering through the woods one afternoon. All-wheel drive might help get you to this retreat cabin.
Quiet, peaceful, and perfectly nestled into the hillside, with a welcoming lighted path from your car. The cabin is meticulously maintained, and you'll appreciate all the extras that went into making it comfortable - everything from the hammock near the fire pit, to the extra chairs and patio furniture so you take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.I woke up to goats grazing outside, and was visited in the evening by the dogs who stopped by for some quick pets and to help me repack my climbing gear.Just book an extra night now because you won't want to leave.
My husband Ben and I are Minnesota natives but moved to Missouri 15 years ago. In the last few years, we discovered the Jasper area and instantly fell in love with its untouched beauty. We hope to one day retire here, but in the meantime, we love to vacation in this location!
