During the winter months we keep the main driveway plowed and the walkways cleared. For your convenience, a snow shovel will greet your arrival at the front door in case any additional snow has fallen. The driveway in front of the cabin will accommodate 2-3 vehicles. There is a convenient large parking area about 2 miles away just off just off of Highway 20 across from the Timbers at Island Park Village Resort for trailers. You are welcome to drive your sleds up to the cabin so you can hit the trails early! High clearance, four-wheel drive is necessary for Island Park and Yellowstone's mountain terrain during the winter and snowy weather. During the winter, please check on parking availability a few days prior to your arrival.
The beautiful mountain area is noted for its native wildlife with a mama moose actually bedding down right in your yard! Keep an eye out for fox, elk, deer, and a beautiful array of birds and woodland creatures in the adjacent aspen grove. If you listen closely, you may hear the calls of the resident bald eagle and her two chicks. This cabin is definitely a nature lover's peaceful retreat! Please note that there are all sorts of wildlife in the mountains so you may consider bringing your favorite repellent and be sure to do what you can to not bring them into the cabin with you. And, when booking any cabin in the woods, you will expect to encounter insects, spiders and other wildlife. It is part of the experience. Your cabin is not hermetically sealed so bugs, spider, and all sorts of wildlife may enter the property. Please keep the doors closed so they do not enter unexpectedly.
A starter supply of coffee service, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and dish soap are provided. However, depending on personal preference or consumption, you may need to bring or buy extra supplies during your stay. There is a small county grocery store North on Highway 20 called Sam Patch Co. where we do all of our shopping when we stay at the cabin.
This is a NON-SMOKING cabin. We are also under a county ordinance for short term rentals and ask that our guests please stay in compliance for their safety and health. We ask that you please stay within capacity limits, read the burn ordinance and please be neighborly. Please be aware that this cabin is on community electrical and WIFI systems and we pass along the most current recommendations from them to our guests as applicable. For protection, video and audio can be motion activated and monitored on the outside of the property at the front and back door looking out toward the parking area. The place was great, clean, and had ample space for everyone plus more. Was about 30 minutes to YNP so was a convenient location, but also nearer to other cool spots. Would definitely stay here again when visiting this beautiful area.

Mark, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay and truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we'd be absolutely delighted to welcome you back this winter. Whether you're coming to cozy up by the fire or explore the snowy surroundings, we'll make sure everything is just as perfect as last time. Safe travels until then—and we hope to see you soon!
We stayed here with our friends and their family, 8 of us, to go to Yellowstone National Park after first visiting Glacier National Park. Crista was very helpful and answered all of our questions timely. It was great having the grocery store, gas and ice across the main road. We cooked breakfast and grilled supper. We went to Upper Mesa Falls for a quick something to do the evening we arrived, about 40 mins away. It was about 20 mins to enter the park. We also could have gone to a rodeo up the road but just didn’t have time. This was a great place to stay and had everything we needed. I would love to come back in the winter for a snowmobile trip as it would be perfect for that too!

Kristen, thanks for coming and having a super Yellowstone vacation! Please come again this winter! We are open all winter long and so close to the main road and trails. Lots of parking for your sleds and trucks on site.
House is set up perfect for a large group of snowmobilers. Large tiled entry area with tons of space for gear staging and drying, with a sitting area with tv and fireplace directly adjacent. Two washers and two dryers in same area. Tables and folding chairs in same staging area, awesome! Large covered area outside of that door also. Rest of the house is well stocked, lots of room, and very clean. Twin water heaters hooked up in line so never run out of hot water either. Parking for two rigs with trailers right on site. Can ride from the house, gas station and very nice grocery store across highway. Subway, sled rental outfit, and bar/restaurant within walking distance. And the hosts were very nice and would respond immediately to any questions and had tons of suggestions for area activities and amenities. Can't say enough about this place, very impressed!
