What a great spot! High up mountain hideaway and a wonderful spot to connect with family. The place was clean, stocked with everything we needed and the owner was incredibly responsive. Highly recommended if you need a quiet spot to get away!

Ideal getaway with friends!
Our family of 4 joined with 2 other families to spend a snowy New Year's weekend in the Catskills. We couldn't have asked for a warmer lovelier home. Atop a hill overlooking the hills and valleys that mark this area; it is secluded yet close to skiing and the small town of Andes to make it full of endless fun. We were completely transported from our hectic city lives by the beautiful car ride up to the house and then the perfect tranquility of this home. (In the winter be sure to have an all wheel or 4wd vehicle as we slid off the road in our rental car due to the new snow that seems to be frequent in winter months-thank goodness for friendly neighbors!).
The house is lovely, cozy, bright and fit all 13 of us comfortably. Beds were perfect firm, large and soft sheets. Pillows great selection of soft and firm. Lots of extra blankets.
There were so many fun things to do out-doors that the kids didn't ask for screens once in 4 days!
There was nothing lacking in the kitchen for 3 delicious large meals and perfect coffee every morning.
We all had one of the best vacations ever and cannot thank Cameron enough for opening his home so that others may partake of this special place up in the mountains. He responded within minutes to every inquiry.
And thank you for supplying tea Cameron - which was the perfect touch to our long evenings by the fire...

About the host
Hosted by Cameron C Dubes
I am nonprofit fundraising professional who specializes in capital campaign and major gift fundraising. I've worked for many well-known organizations over the years. I consider myself an environmentalist and love nature, particularly the energy of the Catskill Mountains.
My life has been one long spiritual exploration and you will note a variety of spiritually minded items throughout the home. On the front porch, you will be greeted by a nature altar featuring Imanja, Brazil's ocean Goddess. I visited Brazil in 1992 for the Earth Summit and was touched by the Spirit of Brazil and its people, and have returned many times since.
I know you will love the house and I'm happy to share it with like-minded people.
Why they chose this property
I purchased the property, which includes 5 acres below and behind the house, in 2000 from Charlie, who put his heart and soul in building the home in 1988.
I have always viewed it as a spiritual retreat as it was built with such love and conveyed by Charlie to me with his genuine warmth and generosity. It was such a gift that I have felt from the beginning that it was a sanctuary to be shared.
I have been a nonprofit fundraiser for many years working with various nonprofits around the country, but would always return to what I call the "hive" to regenerate myself for the work I do. You will note many bee symbols throughout the home. The bee is a symbol of joy and community, and I believe the house resonates with the warmth and buzz of a loving community.
What makes this property unique
I've heard time and time again from everyone who visits, is that they walk in the door and feel at home. It is all wood and you feel nature's embrace inside and out of the house.
There are reading nooks and places for naps -- a love seat swing under the deck and a hammock for two in the summer. The upstairs loft daybed is a great place to read as well as ponder life while viewing the mountains and valley in the distance.
The front porch is perfect to lounge and observe the hummingbirds feed and the bees buzz about the flowers. With windows all around, you can hear the wind in the trees, and lay quiet listening to the snow fall or observe an awesome thunderstorm and hear the rush of a cleansing rain shower.
It is a place to connect, with yourself, nature, and with others.
