Sanctuary in the Dunes

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here several times and have enjoyed it everytime! It is close to Monterey downtown and Seaside. We enjoy the greenery and all the nice walking paths .

Ocean Retreat

Overall, we had a wonderful time while staying at this property. I would have given this property five stars for everything but there was one problem that went unresolved. Parking. We were unable to get our car into the parking enclosure not because the garage was too small but because another homeowner’s car made it impossible to enter or exit. We ended up having to park on the street which was often congested with no parking places due to beach goers. I found the response to our parking situation from Sanctuary fell short. In all other respects, the property was delightful as was the Sanctuary staff.

Lovely with a caveat

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and condition of this place is wonderful. When I walked in I thought I had finally found "my place" for the annual trips I enjoy in Monterey and Carmel.The Sanctuary staff went the extra mile to help with several problems initially. The TV in the living room is hard to enjoy due to the strange set up of the components. The tech team from Sanctuary helped a great deal and once we figured it out it was OK though still complicated. The TV in the bedroom needs attention. It has a wobbly picture at times and seems old and I feel that the showerhead needs changing or fixing but that may be personal preference.However the reason for only 3 stars is the neighbor with the adjoining wall was a problem for me. She is not well and makes a lot of noise and sounds throughout the day AND night. I was concerned for her a lot, and it sadly often interfered with my sleep and relaxation and finally I had to end my stay early. I don't like writing this as the place is wonderful and Sanctuary did refund me generously but it is beyond their purview to do anything about the neighbor. If you won't be disturbed by the sounds and erractic nature of this situation then you will love the place.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Sanctuary in the Dunes was everything we hoped it would be and more. Our condo was excellent, very clean and stocked well with all that we needed for our months stay. We enjoyed the Monterey area and the restaurants we went to had such awesome seafoods. We will definitely go back again as we enjoyed being close to the ocean and beach to take daily walks on the boardwalk and on the beach. We have many great memories of our stay and definitely would like to return again.

Beautiful and delightful apt.

Had a one month stay at this property in Monterey and found the apt. absolutely delightful, beautifully renovated and decorated with great sound system/kitchen. This end-unit has a unique ocean view with the soothing sounds of the ocean. The only problem encountered was that the covered parking spaced has an extremely narrow entrance and only suitable for parking of a small car. The on premise guest parking is only available for 5days, after that, got notices from HOA regarding not considered a guest. HOA did not approve the proper sticker for parking at the space allocated to the owner of the apt. Had to park on the street....
