About the host

Host profile image
I don’t live in Buxton full time, but I fell in love with the area for its access to the outdoors, the energy during peak tourist season, and the character of the architecture.

I’ve lived in different places around the world and stayed in a wide range of hotels, houses and B&Bs, which heavily influenced how I host. As a host, my main aim is that guests arrive and don’t have anything to worry about. Cleanliness is a priority, and I want the house to feel ready, calm and easy to settle into from the moment guests arrive.

I renovated the house myself, focusing on comfort, layout and details that make group stays work well. I’m always happy to help guests with planning or recommendations and enjoy being available if they need support during their stay.

Why they chose this property

Buxton offers a great balance of town life and easy access to the outdoors. I was drawn to the surrounding walking routes, the café culture, and the way the town comes alive during the busier seasons.

It’s a place where you can spend the day walking in the Peak District, then return to town for food, culture or a relaxed evening. That mix of nature, architecture and activity is what makes the area special and why it works so well for short breaks and longer stays.

What makes this property unique

The Gathering House stands out for its cleanliness, bold interior design and central location.

It’s set up for groups who want to stay together comfortably without it feeling like a party house. The layout works well for shared time while still offering privacy, including lockable bedroom doors, which is helpful for groups who may not all know each other well.

The house combines character with practical home comforts, making it a reliable and comfortable base for group stays where guests want things to work properly and feel looked after.
