RayHope House is an elegant, meticulously maintained vacation home located on a hilltop in a secluded and quiet cul-de-sac in Bonne Terre, Gros Islet, at the northern end of St. Lucia. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism in St. Lucia have certified that RayHope House has implemented the protocols, staff training, and safeguards required to safely host guests during the covid-19 pandemic.

RayHope House offers privacy, tranquility, and seclusion combined with convenient access to shopping, restaurants, beaches, and activities. The house is just ten minutes from Rodney Bay with its shopping malls, grocery stores, exquisite restaurants, and the best nightlife the island has to offer. Pigeon Island National Park, the picturesque and widely acclaimed Rodney Bay Marina, the Rodney Bay Aquatic, Health and Fitness Center, and Reduit Beach are all just minutes away from RayHope.

Castries, St.Lucia's capital city is a twenty-five minute drive south of RayHope. Visiting Castries and walking around to take in the local scene is highly recommended. Visitors will find an intriguing combination of fresh local vegetables and fruits, local crafts and souvenirs, and a wide variety of local eats at the Castries market. Nearby Port Castries is one of the most popular cruise ship destinations in the Caribbean. Within easy walking distance visitors will find La Place Carenage and the Point Seraphine Shopping Complex which offer fine dinning and duty-free shopping.

RayHope is a two-story house that includes vaulted ceilings, bamboo flooring in all areas except the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. In addition to its location on a quiet cul-de-sac, the property is secured by a state of the art wireless security system and remote controlled gated entrances.

The spacious ground floor includes a large study, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, half bath, plus dining, living and family rooms that are fully furnished with an enticing mix of tropical and classic furniture.

The kitchen is fully functional with stainless steel appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, glass-top stove with oven, a microhood, and dishwasher. A range of small appliances including coffee maker, toaster, and electric kettle are ready for use.

In addition to a master bedroom and two other bedrooms suites, the upper floor includes a spacious study/bedroom and two balconies that offer excellent views of the enchanting scenery that surrounds RayHope. One of these is a private balcony that can only be accessed via the master bedroom. The master bedroom suite includes a large king-sized bed, delightful furniture, walk-in his and her closets, and a Jacuzzi.

A second bedroom suite offers a queen sized bed while a third super-sized bedroom suite includes two queen sized beds. In addition, the upstairs study has been converted into a bedroom with a queen sized bed that can comfortably accommodate two adults. Finally, two futons in the the very large downstairs study provide elegant seating by day and comfortable double beds when required.

With the exception of the upstairs study/bedroom which has a ceiling fan, all major spaces in the house are air conditioned and have ceiling fans. This combination of air conditioning and ceiling fans allows occupants to choose their preferred method to control climate within the house and ensure that you will never be uncomfortable. The windows and doors are carefully positioned to maximize the flow of caressing tropical breezes right through the house.

Lots of balcony space, a swimming pool, deck chairs, and carefully manicured gardens ensure that occupants will relish spending time outside enjoying the warm sunshine and seductive tropical breezes that blow in from the Atlantic.

Wonderful experience.

Fantastic Holiday

Place was in great shape. I was slightly worried because the pics on VRBO were time stamped 2012, but I should not worried at all, place was as nice or nicer than the pics represent. It was spacious. This was our first time to St Lucia, and it was fantastic. Ruth was "Johnny on the spot" whenever we needed anything, if fact she had beers and water in the frige when we arrived, a very nice touch. .

Stayed at the property with 10 of my work colleagues while visiting for field work. The accommodation was spacious and had everything we needed. "Big Family Vacation" at Ray of Hope January 2018

Great place to stay for a large family; we had 13 people, including 4 young children. The villa was beautiful, clean, well stocked, and a fantastic place to stay. The pool was great, and the grounds were maintained beautifully. Prosper took very good care of us, arranging transportation from airport, and a dedicated chauffeur, who was at our "beck and call"; his name was Johnnie. Rayhope House

The home was everything we expected. Ruth was excellent and took care of details. Our driver was willing to take us wherever needed. Johnny, the driver, was careful and knowledgeable about the island. It was a beautiful home with comfortable sleeping arrangements, close to the beaches, and shopping. We had a wonderful time. Awesome vacation home!

St Lucia is extremely beautiful and Ray Hope House was our own little retreat when we wanted to spend time with our family over the holidays. Plenty of room, our own pool (!), close to shopping and several beautiful beaches. Where else can you have a cleaning lady, gardener and pool guy in a private home while vacationing on a beautiful, sunny, tropical island. The listing is totally accurate with the photos showing the home and property as they are. I would recommend Ray Hope House readily to family and friends, and already have friends asking about it after they saw all of the photos that we took of the island.

Fantastic stay in Gros Islet

We had a really great stay at Rayhope House. Everything was great. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. There was also plenty of sitting room inside and outside the house. There was a nice veranda and place to lay out around pool. The kitchen was also nicely updated. Ruth the property manager was also easily available and was there to greet us upon arrival. We also used Albert for transportation. We booked him for the whole week. That worked out very well because within 20 minutes we always had a ride to the store, beach or attractions, The benefit with having a driver you can go to the attractions on your schedule. We would definitely recommend Rayhope House to other people and if in St. Lucia again we would stay at this property again.

The house needs maintenance and is older than it looks. The pool is no larger than a postage stamp and location to beach and restaurants is definitely not walking distance. We had to have a taxi driver on hand for $200/day which was mandatory. The dishwasher never worked and only one sink in master bath worked.

St. Lucian Vacation

We recently spent a 10 day family vacation in St. Lucia. We stayed at the RayHope House and honestly could not have asked for more. We were a party of 9 including 6 adults, two children and an infant. The house is large and spacious and easily accommodated us and our needs. The bedrooms as well were spacious and equipped with air conditioning as was the rest of the house. Our grandkids (5&7) absolutely loved the pool and spent a ton of time playing in it while we lounged on the pool deck. The yard is beautiful and meticulously maintained. We had three rented vehicles, all of which easily fit in the driveway within the gated yard. The location in Rodney Bay is fantastic and very near all necessary amenities including grocery shopping, excellent restaurants and beaches suitable for all ages. Last but definitely not least is the property manager, Ruth, who is an absolute gem. She was there waiting to welcome us upon our arrival and there again to wish us well on our departure. She also worked around our schedule to attend on a couple occasions and provide cleaning services which were second to none. She availed herself to us for anything we needed including providing "tips" on local restaurants, spas and places to go and see. We highly recommend the RayHope House for your St. Lucian vacation.

Large, comfortable property in quiet area

We enjoyed eight days at Ray Hope House in Dec 21/Jan 22. The property is very spacious. Four bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. Additionally, there are two lounge areas, a kitchen and a dining room (and study if you need it). Decent aircon throughout. The photos on this site give a good overview. There is a small pool in the garden, which is nice for cooling off in. The property is in a quiet area (Bonne Terre), near the cricket ground, and only a five minute drive from Rodney Bay (beach and restaurants). It felt very secure. Ruth and Prosper went out of their way to make us feel at home. Communication from the outset was prompt and helpful. We were just a couple, but the property would suit a large family or two small families. We rented a car as we like our independence/privacy (go for a SUV; the island is very hilly). We found this easy, but I understand the hosts can arrange a driver. Recommended.

A homely Paradise within a Paradise!

A beautiful, stunning home, impeccably clean and prestinely presented. Ruth greeted us with such warmth, caare and attentiveness for our family of 7. So attentive to detail Ruth ensured we had milk, water, juice available on arrival. We also had recommendations of local services including lovely caterers to assist with our needs. I would recommend to any family member and or friend to stay a this magnificently appointed home. We are already considering when we can arrange to return for a longer time. Many thanks to the kindness and communication from the owner Mr Reynolds. Our stay was indeed perfect for our needs and tentative occassion. We look forward to being able to stay at Ray Hope House again in the future.

Huge well equipped property with space to relax.

All as advertised except for the added treasure of Ruth. She is the glue that holds it all together. Nothing is too much trouble or difficult to solve. She will organise every thing even using her own phone so so no nasty surprises with international call bills! We were only 2 so rattled about in this massive luxurious villa. The atmosphere would have been great with all the family staying . Maybe next time!

Fantastic house

Spent a week in Gros Islet/Rodney Bay area in this lovely home. The owner, Prosper, was always available to us even though he was away. We had a hot water issue which was solved and one or two other very minor things and Prosper responded immediately. He has a great team and Ruth often popped by to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is large, clean, beautiful grounds, fully equipped. You definitely need a car or a driver as it's up a very high hill. Prosper recommended Albert for the week and he was a brilliant driver able to negotiate around tons of holiday traffic on small winding roads. To learn more about the island though, i would suggest doing a tour of some sort as well. We had a great time in this bright cheery home. It looks just as good inside and outside as the photos demonstrate. The air conditioning in the rooms definitely helped drown out any noises outside. We would all highly recommend this gorgeous rental.

Great stay at RayHope house.

We had a wonderful time at RayHope house. St. Lucia is a beautiful island and the house is a a nice private retreat. It's spacious and great for large families. We really loved the pool, the grounds were very clean, and well maintained. Both Ruth and Prosper were attentive and easy to work with. We took the suggestion of other reviews and used Johnny as a driver throughout our stay- we would highly recommend him. He really knows the island and we felt safe with him.

Fantastic Location and Great Experience

The location of the Rental property was fantastic. The pool and the facility was clean and the folks helping us at the facility had fantastic service. They left us a cell phone at the airport for us to pick up and use in case we got lost on the trip from the airport to the location. I was very happy that they also provided directions. The location was close enough to go down and enjoy the block party, Rodney Bay, and all the great restaurants in the area. There was a group of 8 of us and there was plenty of space to fit us all and the building had both Caribbean and US power connectors. The Wifi worked well while we were there also. There was plenty of towels to use and the facilities were great. A/C was also provided. It was a very relaxing vacation.

Family Vacation to St. Lucia

My family and I decided to visit St. Lucia with our aging mother. We wanted to see the Island through her eyes. What a wonderful experience we had! Staying at RayHope house was one of the best decisions we made. Mr Prosper Raynold made the process so easy and had a wonderful treat at the house upon our arrival (smile). The site is accurate in its description of the amenities. The location is great (it is about 10 minutes from the mall and grocery store). The property is clean and well maintained (came with a housekeeper, pool man and gardener), but most importantly, Mr. Prosper Raynold and his property manager were always available when we called and they addressed our needs immediately. We are sharing our wonderful experiences at RayHope house with our friends and family. By the way, a few of our friends are already making plans to visit because of our great report and of course, our beautiful pictures. We highly recommend this property and plan on staying again.

We are Prosper and Julietta Raynold. We grew up in St. Lucia but left in 1980's to study at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. We live with our two sons just north of Cincinnati in Fairfield, Ohio. Julietta is a science teacher at a local high school and Prosper is an economics professor at an area university. Fortunately, our schedules allow us to spend part of every summer at RayHope House and we love it there. We are also fortunate to have an excellent team (RayHope Team) that keeps the property in excellent condition and that guarantees the comfort and convenience of our guests.

Why they chose this property

Both Julietta and I grew up in St. Lucia and our mothers, siblings, and childhood friends still live in St. Lucia. We both have very fond memories of our childhoods in St. Lucia. During cold winters in Ohio we become very nostalgic about the beach picnics that were traditions in both of our families. We are drawn to the the lush tropical vegetation, to picking mangoes during the mango season, to buying fresh fish directly off fishing boats, and most importantly, to the warm and relaxing embrace of friends and family. We wanted our sons to experience these sensations which are so dear to us and to appreciate their roots. This led us to custom build RayHope House which we absolutely cherish.

What makes this property unique

RayHope House offers a unique blend of proximity to activities and seclusion and insulation from outside activity. As such, RayHope is an excellent base from which to explore St. Lucia. When we are at RayHope it feels like we are in our own secluded hideaway where we enjoy sea breezes blowing through the house or can sit in the balcony adjacent to the pool and read a book or surf the web. However, when we need groceries, want to eat at a nice restaurant, go to the beach, or engage in other activities we simply hop in the car and get there within ten or fifteen minutes. RayHope is a spacious house with lots of balcony space and many spots for comfortable relaxation. Overall, RayHope House is the ideal vacation house for those who want a truly private vacation with the option of easy access to fun activities and entertainment.
