Misrepresentation and Major Safety Concerns – Be Cautious
I booked this property listed as a 2-bedroom, but upon arrival, it was clear there was only one true bedroom. The misrepresentation was frustrating, but the more serious issue was the property’s safety and cleanliness. I was informed the bathtub was merely stained, but it actually had a severe mold problem, as did the area under the kitchen sink. The mildew smell throughout the house made it uncomfortable and concerning for health reasons.Due to these conditions, I had to cut my stay short. Unfortunately, when adjusting the reservation dates, the host, Kimberly Barrow, doubled the nightly rate, so I ended up paying the same amount for half the stay. Communication was also lacking—after I raised these concerns and offered solutions, Kimberly went silent.I’ve stayed at another of her properties, and there seemed to be a tendency to blame prior tenants for issues that may have existed beforehand, especially if those tenants didn’t thoroughly document upon check-in.Overall, I would advise being very cautious. Document everything if you choose to stay and be prepared for potential communication issues. This experience was disappointing and stressful.

You 100% falsified statements to VRBO as it relates to the condition of the property just for financial gain. Had you truly been concerned about your health/safety, you would have checked out immediately. Instead, you chose to stay (against our request for you to vacate) and drag out the situation, which only confirmed there were no mold or safety issues in the first place. No additional charges were added to your stay, as this is completely impossible after a booking has already been confirmed and paid for (another falsified claim). You were afforded an opportunity to see additional photos of the home including the tub with the surface flaws, so you could make an informed choice, and chose to book the home anyway.
Who stays 2 solid weeks without a complaint/word one, then decides they want to stay AND get a refund? Scam.
