SOME MOUNTAIN-SPECIFIC NOTES ABOUT GATE 21:
SMOKING: There is no smoking or open fires allowed anywhere on the property at any time. The Rocky Mountains are at constant risk of wildfires. Any evidence of smoking in, on, or around the property or open outdoor fires at any time will result in the guest’s security deposit forfeited and loss of future access to our home.
CLIMATE CONTROL:
Each room comes with its own baseboard heater and touchscreen thermostat to customize the temperature to your comfort level. Bedrooms and the great room each have ceiling and portable fans for cooling. As with most mountain homes, we do not have central air conditioning.
WILDLIFE: We are located outside of town, where wildlife - from elk to field mice - roam freely. Some of those animals – including the small furry ones - may occasionally find their way to the house. While this has never been problematic for us and we have done our best to minimize this, please be aware it may still happen, especially in the late fall.
TRASH: Trash/Recycling is scheduled for removal by our cleaners after your departure, or weekly depending on your length of stay. There are four trash cans (two regular, two recycling) located in the garage. If you need these emptied during your stay, you can take them to the Waste Management transfer station in town.
PROPANE TANKS: There are four propane tanks on the property for use with the grill or patio fire pit. We do our best to keep them filled, but on occasion you may need to refill or trade them in. This can be done at sites around town.
WELL WATER: This home is supplied by well water. While it is clean and safe to drink, there may be some mineral stains or discoloration even though areas are thoroughly cleaned.
SEPTIC TANK: We have a septic tank on the property. This means that the only materials allowed to be flushed are human waste and septic-safe toilet paper. Any septic-related services required during your stay will be deducted from your security deposit.
OTHER:
