Step onto the expansive 1,000 sq. ft. Brazilian redwood porch, where you can unwind by the fireplace, soak in the hot tub, or dine under the stars—all while taking in awe-inspiring mountain views and frequent visits from local wildlife. Inside, the home exudes warmth and luxury with custom alder wood trim and cabinetry—the same durable wood used in Venice’s historic pilings and Fender guitars. House features:
The deluxe kitchen at Estes Peak Retreat is a chef’s dream, featuring spacious granite countertops, a luxurious island, and a high-end gas stove. Fully equipped with top-tier cookware and a selection of spices, it has everything needed to create gourmet meals. The adjoining dining area boasts an extended table, perfect for family reunions or lively gatherings with friends—all set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.
Estes Peak Retreat offers three spacious king bedrooms and 3 ½ baths, ensuring comfort for every guest. An additional trundle bed in the lower-level open area and a twin bed in one of the king bedrooms provide extra sleeping space. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows frame breathtaking mountain views, with two bedrooms offering especially stunning panoramas. For added convenience, a washer and dryer are available for guest use.
With three inviting sitting areas, there’s space for everyone—each bedroom has i't own private area nearby for entertainment and relaxation. Enjoy Dish TV in the upper and lower living areas, as well as in the master bedroom, along with WiFi and an outdoor grill for added convenience. After a day of snowshoeing, hiking, or skiing, unwind by the indoor or outdoor fireplace or soak in the hot tub under the mountain sky. Snowshoes are provided for winter adventurers!
The half-mile mountain driveway ensures ultimate privacy, keeping curious onlookers at bay and allowing guests to fully relax in seclusion. While the driveway is easily navigable in the summer—even in a Prius—its three sharp turns make it less suitable for large RVs. In snowy conditions, four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, or snow tires are required for safe access. For added convenience, an electric vehicle outlet is available in the garage..
From June to early September, we prioritize full-week Saturday-to-Saturday bookings. As these months approach, we may offer shorter stays if availability allows. During other times of the year, the minimum stay ranges from 2 to 4 nights. If you spot an opening on the calendar that you’re unable to book, please reach out—we’d love to accommodate you and share the beauty of Estes Peak Retreat!
A friendly recommendation: We strongly suggest purchasing rental insurance for any vacation in Colorado. While the experience here is truly unforgettable, and our guests have marveled at the breathtaking beauty right from our home, unpredictable events—from snowstorms and wildfires to illness or travel disruptions—can arise. We want you to book with confidence, knowing your getaway is protected no matter what.
For the safety and security of both our property and guests, the basement door is equipped with a NEST door lock and doorbell.

This is truly a standout property. The views are amazing, and the home itself is stunning. The owners are wonderful, and very accommodating and welcoming. We have stayed at this property three years in a row. We love it.
The host is very accessible and helpful. The house was exactly pictured and it is gorgeous! The kitchen has absolutely anything you could need to feed your group! The views are spectacular!
This home was everything we wanted and needed it to be for our stay!!! Ourselves and two other couples in town for our daughter’s wedding just down the road made for the absolute perfect location. A helpful conversation with the host at the beginning of the stay gave great insight to the property and recommendations in the area.Super thankful to be able to have our dog come along with us and have safe spray to use on for the ticks. As the host shared, ticks were out early this year because of weather and we could visible see them in grasses nearby, saving us on our own hiking adventures. All couples that stayed at this beautiful home all stated that they would not hesitate to stay again!!The house is supplied with plenty of paper products and spices too for cooking. This is a gem for sure!
This property was everything we were looking for. Isolated with gorgeous Mountain Views. We were blessed to have snow while we were staying and it was like being in a snow globe with amazing views everywhere you looked. Plenty of room yet gives you the cozy vibe. We have stayed at several nice places in Estes over the years but this will be our return stay from now on. No more shopping for places.
What a fantastic stay! Everything was well-stocked. We didn’t need to worry about anything. It didn’t feel like we were in someone else’s home, it was so comfortable and homey. Truly, every single need was anticipated. And the view!! Our host was so accommodating and thorough. She really thought of everything. Even keeping the Christmas tree up for us a few extra days. The home was immaculate, quiet, and everything worked perfectly.
This is hands down the best place we have ever stayed. From the amazing home and amazing views to the incredible hospitality of the hosts, this place cannot be beat! The hosts have thought of everything. The kitchen is stocked so well there wasn’t anything we needed that they didn’t provide. The pictures don’t really do this house justice. It’s only a few minutes from RMNP entrance. In all honesty, we have never been more pleased with a property or the hosts. We will without a doubt be back!
Property was absolutely beautiful and the view was stunning. We totally enjoyed relaxing and unwinding.felt like home away from home, 10 out of 10 would stay again
We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Estes Park. From the moment we walked in, it felt cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. Every room was decorated so cute and warm, and the house had absolutely everything we could have ever needed for a perfect getaway. The hosts were incredibly helpful and kind, making sure our stay was smooth and comfortable from start to finish. You can tell they truly care about their guests and take pride in creating a space that feels special. We fell in love with this place and the peaceful surroundings, and we’re already looking forward to making this our yearly tradition. It’s the kind of home you step into once and immediately know you’ll be back.
Great house with stunning views. The hosts were thoughtful and accommodating. Right next to the entrance to the Rocky Mountain Park. The driveway is challenging but we had a jeep so it was doable. I give it the best house, best hosts award.
Communication with the host was great, property was as described. Peaceful and away from the hustle of Estes Park, yet only 10 min to town or RMNP entrance. House was in great shape and everything you expect from your own home. I would definitely book again if headed that way.
I don't even know where to start — everything was absolutely perfect. The host was incredible: friendly, welcoming, and provided crystal-clear instructions and a detailed manual that made everything effortless. The cabin itself was immaculate and beautifully maintained, with every detail in perfect condition. It had everything we needed and so much more. The location is unbeatable — almost at the top of the mountain, peaceful, quiet, and extremely safe, yet only 5 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park in one direction and town in the other. The host also gave us countless tips and extremely helpful information that made our trip even better. We had the best vacation ever, and this is by far the best cabin we have ever rented. It simply couldn’t be better.
This was our 2nd year staying at this stunning home and we absolutely loved it, once again. My husband and I stayed for 10 days this time and still felt like we could have stayed longer. We had family nearby in Longmont that came to stay with us for the weekend and Heidi was so generous with her permission for them to come stay with us, even at last minutes notice. She is truly so kind and we all had the best time! I cant say enough good things about this home and owner. Looking forward to next year already!
The house was absolutely beautiful and very well stocked and well furnished. Perfect location with amazing views and privacy. Has everything you need and could want. Loved the fireplace and hot tub.Great proximity to RMNP and downtown Estes.
We had an amazing stay at this house in Estes Park for the third time! The location is perfect and the house itself is wonderful. It has everything we need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. This is our favorite rental ever! We can't wait to return.
We had a wonderful time. One of the best rentals we have stayed in. The house has everyone you need. Location is beautiful.

About the host
Hosted by Heidi Shepard
We love traveling as well as the outdoors. After living for several years overseas, we moved to Denver. Our wedding photographer son (instagram: nateshepardphoto) initially drew us into Estes with his remarkable photos of RMNP. We started hiking there and were in love with both the park and the town.
Why they chose this property
From all of our travels, one of our favorite places in the world is RMNP. Having decided to retire in Estes Park one day, we started hunting for the "perfect" property, and found it with Estes Peak Retreat. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
We loved this property as it's so close to the entrance of the park and we can avoid the downtown traffic. We also just cherish the solitude and spectacular views that this setting provides. Finally, the home is a work of art. We're always impressed by the thought and tremendous care which went into the design and building of this home. We have hand-picked items from our travels around the world to add to this beautiful space.
