This condo is on the grounds of Whitecap Mountain Ski Resort in Upson, WI. Multi-use 4BR/3BA Ski-In/Ski-Out Chalet. Ski, Snowboard, Ride the Trials from your door [both Snowmobile and ATV]. Visit Lake Weber beach, go fishing, or boat, canoe, kayak, or SUP on the no-wake lake - a few minute walk. With 2 queen beds, 2 full beds, and 4 twin beds, this retreat sleeps 12 [Newer tempurpedic mattress']. Large changing/storage area for the ski/snowboard/snowmobile/ATV gear. WiFi, mini-split AC, Kuerig coffee maker, wood fireplace with a supply of wood. Full kitchen and dining area and a back deck overlooking the ski hill [this is just up from the magic carpet and directly on the ski hill]. Did I mention the in-unit sauna? Oodles of must-do options in the area, including 30+ waterfalls and 6 historic light houses within an hour drive. Just minutes to Hurley and Ironwood, the gateway to Upper Michigan. NOTE: POOL & HOT TUB additional $5/person use fee.

Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Turn all thermostats [8 of them] off in the Summer and set to 50 degrees in freezing temps
There is a switch for the water heater in the gear room in the lower level [it is labeled]. Please switch the water heater off
There is a water shut off for the outside spigot in the basement bedroom that has the utility room. If you turned on the spigot to wash ATV's or whatever, please turn off the outdoor water.

We are an avid ski/snowboard family who love the U.P. area. Originally I was looking for a place near Big Powderhorn, then that switched to Lutsen, and when we saw this place, we knew it was it. We've made some nice upgrades to the unit, including finishing the fireplace stonework, which turned out beautiful.
Why they chose this property
We love the area. It's not commercialized in any way, and there are multiple things to do in the area. There are many choices for hiking and waterfalls in the area. You can do your own research, but a good starting point is to review the Whitecap Mountain website, there are some good links on that. ATV/snowmobile trails are right out the door, and we have already had a few groups stay with us for that. The lake is only a few minute walk, great views off the deck. We do not provide lake items, but there is a beach and a landing if you were to bring your own boat, for instance. It is a county park. We chose this place for the Winter fun, you will love the ski hill right out the back door. From what we understand there is a magic carpet and learning area right off the deck area. The main lift is just below the condo and others rave about this place being the best in the midwest for skiing and boarding. Since we just purchsed in 2025, I have not had that experience as of yet!
What makes this property unique
It's fairly large being 4BR and 3BA, and the private sauna is wonderful. It's not your typical "Sleeps 12" and uses every nook and cranny for bedroom space. With three floors and multiple levels in the 1700SF condo, you have room to roam; great place for private time and together time. The wood burning fireplace is awesome. The U.P. including Big Powderhorn and the Snow River resorts are not far and give you other options for snowboarding and skiing while you stay here. We've found the rental units near Big Powderhorn are not as affordable as renting and commuting from elsewhere. Even rentals in the "Powderhorn Village" are not really walkable to the hill, and you end up driving to the parking lot anyway. We plan to snowboard Whitecap, but also take in those other resorts as we all have the Indy Pass. See you on the slopes!
