About this property
Bright and spacious 3 bed/3 bath in Chester, VT
This bright and spacious 3 bed/3 bath home is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and groceries in Chester, VT, and driving distance to many ski and recreational areas including Okemo (20 min), Killington (45 min), and Pico (50 min). Many quaint towns and villages are a quick drive or day trip away, including Woodstock and Manchester, VT (each 45 min). Two bedrooms on the first floor have full, ensuite baths, and there's a third full bath on the first floor and third bedroom upstairs.
Each of the three bedrooms have TVs with streaming, thermostats for individual temperature control (heat only, the house does *NOT* have air conditioning), ceiling fans, and portable fans.
- The first bedroom on the first floor (next to the kitchen) has a queen bed, built-in dresser, closet with hangers, and full, ensuite bath.
- The second bedroom on the first floor (down the hall) has a king bed, built-in dresser, closet with hangers, full, ensuite bath, and dedicated workspace with a standing desk, office chair, and second monitor.
- The upstairs bedroom has a king bed and clothing rack with hangers. It's connected to the theater with doors at the theater entrance and bottom of the stairs.
The living room has a large sectional sofa that comfortably fits 4–6 people, large TV with streaming, and ceiling fan. The pellet stove is *NOT* currently operational.
The dining area has a large table that seats 6–8 people.
The full, stocked kitchen is equipped with a sink/garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster, plus:
- Cookware (pots/pans)
- Grill set
- Dishes (plates/bowls)
- Glassware (including coffee mugs and wine glasses)
- Silverware
- Knives and cutting boards
- Pizza slicer
- Can opener
- Corkscrew/bottle opener
- Whisk and spatulas
- Measuring cups and teaspoons
- Strainers
- Mixing bowls
- Sheet pans
- Baking dish
- Oven mitts and hot pads
- Salt, pepper, various dried herbs and spices, and cooking oils
The kitchen also includes a breakfast nook that seats four and island that seats three.
There is a washer and dryer available for guest use in the basement.
The expansive, private, and fully fenced-in backyard includes a patio, grill, and hammock. We also provide lawn chairs for guest use. The patio, stairs, and walkways in the backyard are *NOT* shoveled or salted. During inclement weather we ask that you please do not use them.
The theater has a sofa and bean bag, projector with streaming, books, and games. It’s connected to the upstairs bedroom, with doors at the theater entrance and bottom of the stairs.
The house is equipped with Wi-Fi and we have yet to experience issues with mobile phone reception on any major carriers, but please keep in mind that you may often experience pockets without coverage when driving through Vermont.
Please note that being close to town and at the intersection of two main roads has its advantages—you can walk to many places in Chester, the roads are reliably plowed, and they take you straight to some lovely places throughout Vermont—but with that comes some noise from the traffic. Traffic generally slows down after 6pm, and is much less noticeable in the back of the house (where the bedrooms are located) and backyard. Closing the windows will help reduce the noise during peak hours.
