About this property
150 acres of serenity in Barnard VT new to vrbo, check our reviews elsewhere!
To the people who have seen it, Light Hill is
considered one of the most beautiful properties in the Barnard area. With its long range views, it is secluded and surrounded by 150 acres of sweeping lawns, untamed forests, tall pines and a swimmable pond. Hiking trails begin off the back yard. Walk
down our driveway to Locust Creek where you can swim, fish or just watch the river flow. Woodstock, Silver Lake and the iconic Barnard General Store are just minutes away.
The space
Tastefully decorated, spacious, and comfortable, our five bedroom, two and a half bathroom home has lots of space for big families or groups of friends. In
addition, there is a separate bedroom in the barn studio with large windows, beautiful views and beamed ceiling. The studio has no water but does have heat and air conditioning. Our house has a
large, fully equipped kitchen adjoining a breakfast nook, an office space, and a den. From the kitchen, there is a screened in porch for dining with long range views. Two other porches, including a serene spot off of the upstairs bedroom, provide multiple
places to enjoy the property. Light Hill also includes a large traditional living room with original 1840's beams, a separate dining room with bay window, a toddlers play space, outdoor charcoal grill, smart TV
and fiber optic wifi. The house is air conditioned throughout. Enjoy a game of ping pong in our large basement, canoe or tube in our pond or watch the stars by a campfire.
Guest access
Guests have sole access to the entire property.
Other things to note
Minutes from Silver Lake State Park and the iconic Barnard General Store, recreation opportunities abound. We are twenty minutes from the historic village of Woodstock and 30 minutes from
Killington/Pico mountains. Recreation activities in the surrounding area include river rafting, tubing, fishing, hiking, swimming, shopping, excellent dining and a number of local farmer's markets. We hope you enjoy our cherished home as much as we do!

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Benepe

I’m (Pamela) a grandmother, retired professional photographer, avid cook, and gardener.
Why they chose this property
The property is magical, private, and quintessential Vermont. Vermont has been part of our family’s history for a long time and this home has become a beloved gathering spot.
What makes this property unique
You’ll feel it the minute you start pulling up the long, tree-lined driveway! It’s both comfortable and cozy, but also spacious enough to spread out. We have a well-equipped kitchen where many love to spend time together before enjoying a meal overlooking the long distance views.
