About this property

Cozy Historic Mountain Cabin w. Loft

This is a private, non-shared residence, that is a tri-level home. The main floor requires no steps when entering through the back porch door. The main floor is where the primary bedroom is that has a queen bed, and is where the full kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, and spacious living room are. There are interior stairs on this level that will take one up to the loft/sun room or down to the lower-level second bedroom and mudroom.

The lower-level bedroom is where guests enter when snow has built up on the path that leads to the back porch/main floor level. The lower floor has a mudroom, and a bedroom that has double size bunk beds with interior stairs that lead up to the main level.

From the main level, the upstairs loft floor/sun room has space for guests to use as they please.

This is a tri-level home heated and cooled by a multi split unit, with an electric “fireplace” in the bedroom, and there is also a wood stove on the main floor.

The kitchen is fully functional with a dishwasher, electric range/oven, coffee maker, small microwave, and juicer. The table will fit 6 and the extra fold out game table will fit another 6 if guests will be visiting.

The bathroom has a shower/tub combo.

The front porch faces toward a park that is about 200 yards away, where you can practically whistle your kids home. The park also has basketball hoops, tennis courts, and a baseball diamond.

The back yard has a porch, propane BBQ, and faces wilderness, where one can fine beautiful trails and things to see. The yard is not fenced and is sloped enough for easy sledding.

There is nearby quad, sledding, mountain biking and snowmobile trails so bring your toys. From the backyard one can access the trailhead to Calpine lookout, Graeagle for golf, eating out, beer/wine tasting and cute shops (15-minute drive), Sierraville for biking, hot springs, and a shooting range (15-minute drive), Gold Lakes with great hiking and swimming at Sand Pond (25-minute drive), and Portola where a grocery store and public pool are (30 minutes). NorthStar, Squaw, Alpine, etc,. ski resorts and Truckee are about a 45-minute drive away and birdwatching in Sierra Valley is beautiful. Jackson Lake is a 30-minute drive known for great fishing and boating fun, including wakeboarding/water skiing.

Well behaved pets are welcome, but please note that pets that are prone to excessive shedding, barking, accidents, and/or chewing should not be in this home.
