About this property
Blue Moon Mountain Home. < 1 mile from Sugarbush. View of ski trails. Hot tub.
Welcome to Blue Moon Mountain Home, a beautifully appointed post-and-beam residence situated within a private and quiet 8-home community less than two minutes from Sugarbush.
This charming home is ideally suited for two families or groups of friends seeking a memorable getaway. Nestled amidst the picturesque Mad River Valley, it offers an unparalleled blend of tranquility and convenience.
Upon arrival, you will be captivated by the breathtaking views of Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak, which unfold as you drive along the Sugarbush Access Road. Less than a mile from the base lodge, you turn onto a private drive to Blue Moon, where you will find parking space on the flat driveway (capable of accommodating six vehicles) or in the attached two-car garage.
Keyless entry ensures effortless access to the spacious mud room, a central hub for storing luggage and gear. Equipped with ample storage space, it serves as a versatile base for your outdoor activities. Immediately outside the front door you will find a shed to house your larger gear such as bikes, skis and boards.
Beyond the mud room lies an inviting entertainment area featuring a large television and an array of games. Comfortable seating provides space for relaxation and entertainment, with the option to engage in friendly competitions with shuffleboard or the classic Ms. Pac-Man. Each of the four televisions in Blue Moon is equipped with an Apple TV, enabling seamless streaming of your favorite content.
Ascending the stairs from the mud room, you will find the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen table accommodates eight guests, while the kitchen island offers seating for five, providing a convenient setting for casual breakfasts.
Down the hall from the kitchen there are 2 bedrooms: The primary bedroom features a king-sized bed with a television and an en-suite full bathroom. The second bedroom offers a queen-sized bed. Next to this bedroom is an additional full bathroom with a conveniently located washer and dryer.
The living room serves as the focal point of Blue Moon, where its aesthetic is most pronounced. The expansive windows showcase views of Sugarbush, revealing the Heaven’s Gate quad, Sigi’s Ripcord, and Organgrinder trails. The post-and-beam architecture of the cathedral ceiling is beautiful. Relax on the oversized sofa or warm yourself by the gas fireplace in comfortable chairs. This location provides an ideal place to unwind after a day of exploring, whether you prefer to watch a movie, read a book, or indulge in a glass of wine.
Beyond the living room, a generously-sized deck offers panoramic views of Sugarbush’s trails. It is a great spot to witness the sunset over the mountains or simply enjoy the invigorating mountain air. The outdoor table and chairs provide a charming setting for al fresco dining on warm summer evenings.
Upstairs, three additional bedrooms are available, including a king-sized bedroom with a television, a queen-sized bedroom, and a bunk room with three set of bunk beds. Two beds are twin over twin, while the third is twin over full. This floor also features a full bathroom with a bathtub.
Ascend the stairs to the loft, a cozy retreat perfect for reading, playing board games, or simply to enjoy overseeing the happenings below.
And if that is not enough, for ultimate relaxation, unwind in the outdoor hot tub situated near the mud room.
During the summer months, the bedrooms are equipped with window air-conditioners (installed from approximately June 1 to September 30) as central air conditioning is not available. In colder months, the house is heated by ground and first-floor radiant heat and second-floor baseboard heat.

We strongly recommend arriving with an appropriate winter-ready vehicle (such as AWD or 4WD and good snow tires). Being prepared will ensure a safe and enjoyable winter stay in Vermont.

Why they chose this property
What’s not to love about the Mad River Valley?! We fell in love with the area because of the skiing and everyday find new adventures, restaurants and shops to explore. Summer activities are as fun as the ones available in the winter!
What makes this property unique
The views! I cannot find enough time to sit and look at the mountain and ski trails. It’s beautiful when the sun rises and amazing as the sun sets. Blue Moon is just a fun place and close to everything. The post and beam architecture and decor make it hard to leave!
