Great quiet place to stay with friends

The property was amazing and the property management was very responsive. The view was spectacular and it had a nice walking path to Kiddle Bay. It was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay.

Our end of the road happy place

We have stayed at the Kiddel house several times and always enjoyed the killer views to St Croix and great location close to Lameshur and of course Kiddel and Grootpan. For traveling in the high season when Christmas winds can be high, it’s nice to seek the calmer southern beaches.

Amazing Visit

We had an amazing Satu! We live the seclusion of Kiddel l Bay and it's beautiful. We live the back decks for relaxing in the morning and evening. This is our second visit and we would definitely come back.

Beautiful View

We enjoyed out stay! The Antares team was great! Great snorkeling in the Kiddel Bay. Just consider the steep walk to the bay for elderly. The main sitting areas and kitchen do not have A/C but the rooms do. Beautiful location!!.

Stayed at Kiddel Perch Dec 2009. It is exactly as described. Simple, clean, basic, with fantastic views and extreme privacy and quiet. This is the place to get away from it all and get back to basics.

Amazing views and home

Outstanding to have a beautiful cove to so close- right down from your home! Everything was great- sitting out on the deck was lovely. The Vrbo information about the house should be clearer about the payment. We loved our time there!

Fantastic Location

This is a very nice house, and you can't beat the location if you want to be off the beaten path. Beautiful setting overlooking Kiddel Bay, and we snorkeled in the bay several times. The house also is close to several other good snorkeling beaches. I want to mention that the property management company (Antares) was terrific to work with. Really helpful and accommodating.

Perfect spot

This is an amazing location. A short walk to an amazing pebble beach which hardly anyone else goes to. It is a great house and the management is very responsive. We will be back. The only issue is the water pressure which is quite low and makes showers a very slow process.

Beautiful

Its so much better in person. I wanted to get away from everything including people, and this was the perfect choice. Coffee on the upper balcony with the ocean sounds and breeze .... every day should start this way!

Private, perfect Perch.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Perch. The accommodations were casual and very comfortable--just what we were looking for. The cottage is very private, with direct access to the stone beach at Kiddel Bay, which has great snorkeling. It is a few minutes' drive to sandy beaches, hiking trails and wonderful restaurants. There is a beautiful view of Kiddel Bay and the Caribbean Sea from every room, a continuous gentle breeze, and brilliant stars at night. We loved the deck from breakfast in the early morning light to stargazing late at night. It exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return.

Fantastic property

This house is what St. John is all about. Natural beauty, not luxury. Beautiful view of the bay by day, starry nights by night. The house is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. There is also a great library and small stack of puzzles and board games. There are also beach chairs for your use.The beach directly accessible from the house is pebbly but has fantastic snorkeling. Salt Pond Beach is the next closest (5-7 min drive) and is beautiful. We also explored a lot of trails and beaches during our stay. For restaurants, the ones in Coral Bay were easily accessible and tasty. We loved the quiet. If you want more of a night life, stay closer to Cruz Bay. Our host met us and drove us to the house, which is good because it would have been hard to find otherwise. The final stretch (mile or so?) is very rough--a Jeep is a must. We were warned of power outages, but if there were any, they happened while we were out.We are a family of 5, so used both levels. The only connection between the two is an outdoor staircase. We'd definitely stay here again. We had a great visit.

Best. Vacationspotever

This' was our second time here. It bears revisiting which is the best indication of a great rental. It is a snorkeled paradise with easy access to the best beaches, hiking and natural beauty. The accommodations are very functional with great beds and linens, beach towels and plenty of cookware. We stocked up on food at the bigger market in Cruz Bay before we drove over and have not left this side of the island all week. We love the quiet. Where else can you have a whole beach all to yourself most of the time with sea turtles, Angel fish and so much more?

We just returned tonight from St John. We LOVED KIDDEL PERCH. However, I feel complelled to speak with the locals about removing the junk yard that exists upon entering. I have total heartburn over the dump that one must drive through on the roads.

House, location, host - all perfect

The house and location were all as described in the listing. The property manager was responsive in making the reservation, before we arrived, and in promptly addressing a problem after we arrived. The setting is perfect if you want to really get away. Great restaurants within 15 minutes. Beware, a rough road that requires a Jeep or similar vehicle. Kiddle Bay is a rocky beach, but the walk to the Salt Pond Bay parking area, a sand beach, is 10 minutes.

Great Stay!

Cute cottage with excellent snorkeling within walking distance at Kiddel Bay. This beach looked like it could be a model for a salt water aquarium with its huge rocks, coral, and grass. We saw sea turtles, an octopus, and so many different fish. At night we enjoyed sitting out on the deck to watch amazing sunsets then later gaze at the star filled sky. We also saw three deer each day on the road in front of the cottage. There are great restaurants nearby in Coral Bay but we did use the well equipped kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner one night. The beds were comfy and wifi nice since phone coverage was hit or miss.

Great home with a stunning view

My husband and I have previously stayed on St John, but this was our first stay on Kiddel Bay. The view from the home is stunning and it is just a minute walk down the path to great snorkeling on Kiddel Bay. The home had everything we needed. I love to cook all meals and the kitchen made it a breeze. Evening time was spent outside enjoying the sound of the ocean and the stars above. There was plenty of furniture to take advantage of the expansive deck. Some people might find the drive to the home trying, however, we always rent a Jeep and don't mind it at all. You will not be disappointed staying in this beautiful home.

My partner and our small ...

My partner and our small dog spent 10 perfect days at Kiddle Perch. We have stayed in an authentic Japanese house in Kauai, The W in NYC, The Ritz in DC as well as many other special and unusual places. Kiddle Perch was our favorite vacation spot. We spent many hours enjoying the Zen-like setting - I felt like writing Walden 2. If you are the type who would like to stay at a Westin - this is not for you. If you are looking for a romantic vacation in a spot that offers true island atmosphere, give this place a visit. Of course we fell in love with St. John - just our speed. We will return again every year.

Amazing charming and wonderful

The cottage is lovely. The walk to the beach is perfect and easy. Kelsey and Rosanna were extremely helpful even before we got there then helped us with a crisis at the airport and saved our vacation. The bay is beautiful and had almost no visitors other than us. It was the most relaxing vacation ever. I recommend renting a jeep on st John. Not at the airport. Take a taxi and ferry to st John. Then get your car. Easy that way. The food on the island was fantastic. Every place we ate was delicious. But we cooked at the house and used the grill also. It was perfect for amenities. Hope I get to go again ❤️

I have to agree with the ...

I have to agree with the above comments, Marc was very helpful answering any questions we had in a timely fashion and meeting us after we picked up our jeep to guide us to the Perch. If you are looking for off the beaten path this place is it. Quiet except for the hypnotic sounds of the ocean and brush, amazing view of the stars, with the North facing deck you also get to view both sunrise and sunset, great snorkeling or launch point for kayaking is a quick walk down the road. You'll need a jeep to get up the unpaved road from the paved if it rains but that is to be expected. It's so quiet that when someone actually does drive by it gets your attention. The basic utensils in the kitchen, and the barbecue will suffice for most. We can't wait to go back.
