About the host
Hosted by Sue Abbrescia
We moved to Montana because my artist husband fell in love with the landscape during a business trip here in the early 1970's. We were from the Chicago area where we had established the Village Art School in Skokie. We decided to vacation in Montana the following summer. We loved Montana and it was at that time that we purchased our 13 acre property and then a couple of years later were able to add the cabin and another half acre. We already had a home on the property but wanted this cabin for my husband's art/painting studio. You may have heard of him, as he did become a very well-known, award-winning artist. Joe passed away in 2005. During the summer of 2012, I remodeled the studio and now offer it to travelers as a vacation rental.
Why they chose this property
We walked down the path through the 13 wooded acres, sun shining, a warm, beautiful day, and came to the lake. That was it! We had to have this piece of heaven! We were lucky. It had not been on the market, it was shown to us by the owner, a friend of a friend of ours. I love Montana, will never leave, and am certain that you will love it, too.
What makes this property unique
Walking down a wooded trail, and then the lake comes into view, with mountains to the north and east…does it get any better! We had found our ' paradise'. That was in 1976, 45 years ago. As happens over time, an area grows. But, we still have our piece of paradise, a getaway where we can enjoy the serenity of our lake-front property, walk the trails or kick-back with a good book on the deck or lakeshore. And, the sunsets are soooo beautiful!
