Perfect for us with location right at water edge. Good for 2 and dog but would be tight for more. Cozy cabin. Heater worked well. Bed good. Shower good. No fenced area for dog but nice to walk along the shore. Other cabins have porch on water side. Ours was still nice. Windows a little drafty but imagine mostly used in summer months. Stores are not real close so plan ahead. Recommend

Loved listening to the waves crashing and watching the fireplace flames as I drifted off to sleep. The view of the Strait of Juan De Fuca is incomparable and the host/owner Rachael was super responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Rustic and quaint ocean view cabin

We truly enjoyed staying here. My husband loves to fish and this place reminded him of a fisherman’s cabin but with a more elegant and relaxing Vibe. Easy checkin and the surrounding area was amazing. It was warm and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Would do it again

Great location as listed, the Barnacle Hill hut had all the essentials you'd expect of a hotel room. Water was always hot, room comfortable temp. Only thing would be better is screen's on the window's and a screen door so you can keep air flowing through at night without bugs.

Lovely, Perfect, Rustic, Private Peak Experience

This cabin was the surprise hit of our entire trip. I am not exaggerating when I say it will be one of our all time favorite life experiences. The beautiful location, the privacy, and the ocean views out the huge picture windows are what made this stay a pinnacle experience. The rustic nature of the cabin with its distressed wood, fireplace heater, and kerosene lamp made us feel like we had stepped out of real life for a time and could truly relax and unplug. Yet it still had enough modern conveniences to keep us comfortable such as a gas stove and oven, French press, provided coffee grounds and cream & sugar, cooking utensils and dishes, wifi, and outlets to charge our phones. They even provided cooking oil and shampoo in the shower! The instant water heater worked very well and you could have very hot water as long as you wanted. The living area was very comfortable and we definitely took advantage of the extra blankets on those chilly ocean nights. We did have to close the curtains on all but the ocean-facing windows due to this building being in a complex/resort. But once the curtains were shut you could have complete privacy. The only things that were not clear from the listing were that there are no rooms; it’s all one big room like a studio apartment would be. The other thing we misunderstood from the listing was the distance to the water. We thought this cabin was right on the water but it was actually up the hill about 40 yards. Overall an amazing experience!!!

Blissful relaxation at Whiskey Creek Beach in the Barnacle Hill Cabin

Super cute waterfront cabins at reasonable prices. They take a while to get to, going down long dirt roads rather far from the beaten path, but that's half of the appeal right there. We spent three days of our Honeymoon at Barnacle Hill and loved every minute of it. The cabin (and the four others similar to is on the property) overlook the sound and have plenty of individual amenities for each cabin. Although there are five cabins in close proximity, they all have a decent degree of privacy, with this one being the most private as it is set back from the other four by a bit. This cabin had a wood burning stove for the interior heat, and had plenty of pre-chopped firewood at the ready. The Wood stove takes some getting used to, and by the second day we were able to figure out how to make it toasty without being crazy hot. The water heater is also run off of the stove, which we were never able to get working right. Propane cook top and a fridge are older but perfectly functional. There is a lovely little fire pit just outside the cabin as well. Beautiful rocky beaches just feet away, with plenty of places to explore during lower tides. Have a quick-ish drive over to Sieku to pick up some amazing fresh caught fish and enjoy the town's Co-Op, or stop in Port Angeles on your way over to pick up some supplies. This is an absolutely perfect spot for the individual or small family that is willing to put a bit of effort into their vacation. You have to cook, build a fire if you want heat, plan ahead a bit as there is very little right around the property. The town of Joyce about 5 miles away has a interesting general store for anything last minute. Basically zero cell phone service, which is a huge bonus in my opinion. Owners of the property gave us a nice note and bottle of wine when we got in which was very appreciated. TL;DR Pick up supplies on the way in, make a real and concentrated effort to turn your brain off for a couple days, be prepared to get your hands a little dirty, and you will be rewarded with blissful relaxation. Gorgeous view

We stayed at the Barnacle Hill. Rustic excellence. Like the view and non electric features and also appreciate the electric lamps as backup. This is close to the Discovery Trail. We rode from the cabin to the Spruce Railroad
