This thoughtfully planned out three bedroom, three and one half bathroom layout offers plenty of room and privacy for everyone. Located “On the Hill” in Saugatuck, this desirable location is sure to fulfill all your vacationing needs. The splendid views of the gothic church across the street complete the storybook feel of this destination.

Color, warmth and natural light are found throughout the two stories with a full lower level. On the main level you will find a modern and spacious kitchen which is a cooks dream. Enjoy your meals in the adjacent dining area with seating for 6. The comfortable living room with a gas stove fireplace encourages quiet relaxation and stimulating conversation with family and friends. The lower level family room offers a Smart HDTV and Blu-ray for additional entertainment. Those who want a little more solitude will find the loft tucked away on the second level to be the perfect escape.

The three bedrooms, each with a Queen bed are thoughtfully positioned, one on each floor offering plenty of privacy for all guests. The upper level Master Suite offers a private bath with his/hers sinks, large tub for soaking and beautiful tile/stone walk-in shower. There is also a large private balcony - perfect for that morning cup of coffee or cocktail in the evening while watching the locals stroll by. A main floor guest room has a Queen bed and private full bath with a tub/shower. The third guest room is on the lower level and offers a Queen bed. A full bath with a walk-in shower is accessible from the hall. Beautiful tile and stonework is found throughout all levels of the home.

The character and charm of inside continues once you step outside. Surrounded by a picture perfect picket fence, it’s as if you are in your own little haven. Imagine starting your day on the front porch with the paper, evenings grilling and hanging out on the comfortable lounge patio and wrapping up with a crackling fire under the stars gathered around the built-in fire pit area. Great amenities and a convenient location to downtown Saugatuck (2 blocks) and only a short 5-7 minute drive to immaculate area beaches such as Douglas Beach and Oval Beach. Those wanting to complete Grimm’s tale with their own walk thru the forest should be sure to explore.

Perfection!

This was the perfect house for our family vacation. There were six of us and we did not have one complaint about this house. It is delightful, perfectly located, and has a great front porch for your morning coffee!

Our 3 night stay at Hansel and Gretel was fabulous. The house had everything we needed to comfortably sleep our group of 5, cook a few meals and have space to get ready for a wedding. It was perfect having a bathroom for every bedroom. The easy walk to town was about 5-10 minutes and the Arts Center literally just down the steps. We can't think of one thing we needed that wasn't already there. The home is cozy, comfortable and inviting. The host was communicative and provided the perfect place for us to gather and enjoy a special weekend in Saugatuck.

Our family had a great time at this home. Not only was it in a great neighborhood that was very walkable to everything, but it may have been one of the cleanest rentals we've stayed in. We greatly enjoyed our time, and will be back.

Absolutely Charming!

I stayed here with a small group of girlfriends for a long weekend getaway. The home was a clean, welcoming space with all of the amenities to make guests comfortable. An easy walk to downtown Saugatuck shopping and dining. Quiet neighborhood. The owner was very kind and prompt to answer any questions we had. I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we will be back again for another stay next year!

Great house for family trip!

We had a wonderful time with family in Saugatuck and the house was set up great for everyone including one infant. It was a short walk into town and there was even a playground on the way for our little one to run around. The house is a quick drive to the beach as well. We would highly recommend this house for your family trip!

Wow, it's a story book setting and the amenities are fantastic! Everyone has their own private bathroom and the communal spaces are just perfect inside and out. I cannot express enough how fabulous the Hansel & Gretel cottage is! Every room is well appointed. It’s as comfy as it gets! I’ve rented for a number of years and this is my favorite place by far! Loved the cottage!

The house was perfect for our girls weekend. It was tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still just a short walking distance to downtown. The cottage is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The beds were also very comfortable. We loved that each bedroom had its own ensuite bathroom. We will definitely be back!

Relaxing Stay in Saugatuck

The Hansel and Gretel Cottage was clean, cozy and very well appointed. The kitchen and 3 1/2 bathrooms were beautifully decorated with modern functionality and cottage chic charm. The location was perfect, in a quiet neighborhood just above the downtown area. The front porch and backyard had multiple seating areas to relax in. It was great to have a full laundry room on the lower level. We will definitely book this cottage again!

Charming Saugatuck Home

Awesome home that was perfect for my siblings, my young adult children and my niece and nephew. Loved the proximity to everything. Walked to downtown, found an estate sale, climbed Mount Baldhead, sunset at Oval beach, and even visited the local lavendar garden in nearby Douglas. So fun!

Exquisite home in the perfect location

Upon checking in I messaged the host how lovely the house was and that the pictures (while lovely) did not do the justice. Such a cute house, lovely appointments everywhere, in a perfect location. We loved sitting out on the front porch with our coffee in the morning. It was so close to downtown with just a few short blocks to walk but was peaceful and serene. The beds were super comfortable as well. Angela, the host, was super helpful with her quick replies and suggestions. We will most certainly be looking to rent her lovely home again for our next trip to the area.

Parents weekend away!

We had an amazing couple days away in saugatuck! A friend’s wedding at the Ivy House brought us here and we are so glad! The description of this home does not do it justice! This home is beautiful and is everything you need and more to have a wonderful time away from home. The location is perfect. A quick 5 min walk and you are downtown enjoying restaurants, shopping and sipping on drinks by the water catching up with good friends!! Would definitely recommend this home and would stay again in the future!

Great location, convenient and just as listed

Hansel & Gretel cottage was great - zero issues. Well stocked with necessities (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc.) and lots of other nice touches (spices, linens, etc.) Three great full baths and a half were greatly appreciated for family of five with three teenagers. Loved our week in Saugatuck. Cottage is very close to vibrant downtown Saugatuck (take the stairs to the left, we “discovered” those on day three!) lots of restaurants, more ice cream shops than you can count. Close drive to beaches (Douglas and Oval), hiking, Sand Dunes, etc.

Why they chose this property

The property was the garden for the farmhouse to the north. One visit and I was sold. There are many plantings that are over 60 years old. The former owner/artist/gardener constructed a stone wall on the property with stones he gathered by hand all over Michigan. The home was built in 2011 and won the Saugatuck Historical Society's Preservation Award for New Construction. It is a huge honor to receive this recognition.
