This 2 BR duplex lower apartment is located in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood, 2 miles directly north of downtown. It is furnished with many vintage mid-century furnishings. There is a garage space for your use during your stay, and ample street parking right in front making it easy to come and go. The kitchen has dishes, pots, pans, and all the utensils you will need during your time here.

One bedroom features a king sized bed, and the other has a set of twin over double sized bunk bed.

You will have access to apartment, laundry room in basement, yard and 1 parking space in the garage. There is a lockbox for a set of keys for easy check-in and check-out, but I live about 1 mile away, and I am available at any time to help with logistics and to make your stay an easy one.

I want to be fair, but overall our stay was disappointing and the property did not meet expectations. The unit was dingy, old, & poorly maintained, with caked-on dirt along blinds, cabinet edges and baseboards, dust everywhere, and chipped paint on cabinets/walls. “Mid-century” feels like a loose description for an out-of-date unit. It felt stark, cold, and without personality.We could hear every movement & conversation from the upstairs tenants, so I assume they could hear us as well. Wi-Fi is shared w/ them and was spotty. Our Verizon phones wouldn't connect to mobile data inside. There was no street parking without purchasing a separate city permit.The shower is extremely narrow; the grab bar takes up much of the space, causing us to hit it or have the curtain cling to us. The couch was old and uncomfortable, like sitting on plywood. There is only one nightstand, despite both of us using CPAPs. The washer is in the basement, accessed by steep, narrow, non-conforming stairs.The bunk bed was unsafe. Our 13-year-old was afraid to sleep on the top bunk because it swayed when accessed. My husband found several screws loose enough to tighten by hand.An extension cord is ran through the kitchen ductwork, with an orange glow visible through the vent -concerning enough to warrant inspection. The garage opener worked one day; after we reported it, we received only “sorry for the inconvenience” with no repair attempt. Also a large beetle/possible roach came from under the couch.

I enjoyed my stay there. I found the place clean and comfortable looking. It was pretty close to some of the places I wanted to visit so that was handy. I appreciated having a garage to park in. It was probably more than what I needed since I was by myself. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and I appreciated that so much.
