Do not stay here. The grass had not been mowed and was full of sandspurs. When I opened the front door, the smell of the house gave me pause, but I thought it was perhaps because it is an older home. My son unloaded our luggage and brought it into the living room only. As I went through the house, it got worse. The primary shower was covered in soap scum and still had a half-used bar of soap in it. The toilet had what appeared to be feces smeared inside the bowl. There were ants all over the floor between the toilet and the shower. There was stuff stacked up on the counter around the sink including a mostly used roll of toilet paper. The beds had no fitted sheets at all, and the blankets were old, worn, and torn. The kitchen sink still had food particles stuck in it with a used sponge. There was a greasy film on many surfaces including the coffee maker and lid of the garbage can. I never even walked out to the pool area.I sat on the wooden chair at the dining room table and called my husband. I told him I wanted to cry and sent him pictures of what was there. We have stayed in many places that we had to do some additional cleaning to, but nothing like this. We agreed that I would reach out to the owner with pictures and I would take my son to a hotel. The host said that she would give me a discount or come to clean it. She would have to clean the entire house, and we had been on the road for 11 hours. Unacceptable. We left and have filed a complaint with VRBO.
