Great host

We had a very pleasant stay. I grew up in the area so we had visitors and Scott was very welcoming about that.

Positives:The place was brand new and very clean. The host left waters for us in the fridge, which was appreciated.Negatives:This is a walk out basement that has been renovated for guests and the owner lives upstairs. Every step taken upstairs can be heard from this unit, and unfortunately not in the typical dampened way you would expect. Each step is extremely loud and creaking. The owner and dogs were up walking/barking before 6:30 am each morning, and as a result we were also awake. Using white noise on our phones helped us sleep through sounds at night, but in the morning it was too loud to sleep through. We had a busy trip planned and were looking forward to time to rest/relax at night and in the morning. Unfortunately, we left exhausted. There is also a water pump in the closet of one of the bedrooms. It ramps up and turns off every 8 seconds anytime water is running and is extremely loud. We ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room instead of the bed in that room to avoid the noise. Again, it's not a faint or dull noise, but extremely loud, to the point that it drowned out conversation while you were in that room.Lastly, the owner's dogs go to the bathroom in front of the unit, so it smells of dog urine each time you enter and exit, and on the last day there were feces on the walkway as well.
