Cabin might be nice for a summer rental but we did not enjoy it for a winter rental. As soon as you walk in the cabin reeks of mothballs, there was mouse feces in a drawer in the kitchen.
This cabin is well equipped. I cannot imagine anything was missed in this cabin. We were in the area with family and friends that were camping at the nearby campground. This cabin was super close and we were mostly in the cabin in the evenings and to sleep.
The pictures don’t do it justice! This house was great. Location is convenient to a to of fun stuff to do. The beds were comfortable, master bath had the best shower I ever had in a rental, kitchen is well equipped, and the living room had a big super comfortable couch and chairs for movie nights on the big tv. WiFi worked well for streaming! Best part was the fenced yard for our dogs. Being able to let them run around instead of multiple leash walks in the dark was a vacation game changer!

Our family had a fantastic time here over the 4th of July. The cabin has everything you could possibly need, and the location is wonderful. We enjoyed hiking, and day trips to nearby towns!

Beautiful Cabin in great location with plenty of privacy
We had a great stay and loved the location. It’s a beautiful drive around Lake Rabun and very close to the Gorge and walking distance to Panther an Angel falls, a gorgeous easy hike. Definitely highly recommend!

Great cabin getaway in the woods around Lake Rabun.
We had a great time at the cabin with our dogs. The back porch is really nice, the fenced-in backyard is perfect for the dogs, and the whole cabin is quiet, inviting, and comfortable. The public access Lake Rabun beach is just down the road.

Recommend little cabin at Lakemont. Three beds and bath, cute renovated small kitchen. We didn’t use the outdoor space, but it is quiet and nice. Simple cabin, but well cared for. Nice retreat in the woods, near Lake Rabun Public Beach.
This was definitely a nice peaceful cabin w/a great fenced backyard for the dog. We enjoyed grilling on the deck one evening and dining at the Lake Raybun Hotel another. The hike and views at Minnehaha Falls was fantastic as was the herd of deer at the cabin before breakfast on our last morning.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Rustic but just what we wanted. Comfortable and well designed. Hope we can go back someday soon. Our little dogs loved hiking and being on the back deck resting when we got home. Very peaceful!
Spent a long weekend with friends to get away and do some hiking, kayaking and vineyard touring. The cabin was located close to the lake and ramp area to put kayaks in. Also a good jumping off point for hiking. Had a little difficulties with the TV service so missed the football game, but otherwise enjoyed our time away!

Thank you for the review Rick. So sorry you missed your football game! We have resolved the TV issue with a firestick. That seems to have made the TV accessible. Thank you again for your stay.
The house has a neighborhood feel in the woods. The large master bedroom was very cold and would not warm up even with two space heaters running. (It was in the single digit temperatures outside.) We had to transfer into one of the smaller rooms. I would recommend the house get a deep clean. My 1 year old helped walking around picking up crumbs. Most of the pans to cook in were not cleaned and felt very oily. Overall the place is delightful with a fenced in back yard. I just wouldn’t recommend staying in the 3rd bedroom during the winter time.

Thank you for your feedback about your stay. I am sorry that you found the large bedroom uncomfortably cold. Temperatures over the Christmas weekend were historically low. If you had let me know during your stay, I likely could have had a larger heater and/or an electric blanket delivered to you. That said, I have ordered an electric blanket so that future guests who stay during cold weather should be able to stay in that room more comfortably.
I am also sorry that you found that some of the cookware was not cleaned to acceptable standards. It is likely that someone staying in the cabin prior to you inadvertently put away cookware without making sure that it was thoroughly cleaned. Please know that, while I make every effort to ensure that the cabin is thoroughly cleaned between guests, our housekeeper does not routinely check the condition of cookware that has been put away.
I do hope that you will consider visiting under more favorable weather conditions. As you pointed out, the cabin does provide a very quiet, peaceful setting to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and explore the Lake Rabun area.

Nice cabin in the woods
The cabin was easy to find but be prepared for a slow winding drive by the lake to get to it. We did have some inconveniences like the grill shooting flames, only 4 bath towels and no hand towels or wash cloths, beds as hard as boards, a fenced yard for the dog that was loaded with poison ivy and a tree had fallen on the fence. No way to let the dog roam. The porch out back was so peaceful but in need of new furniture. The owner did get the grill fixed and reimbursed us for having to purchase a charcoal grill. That was very kind of her. Kitchen was easy to work in as we ate our breakfasts/dinners there. It’s dark in the cabin and we found a few lights needed to be replaced. Not as clean as I like with cobwebs on the inside and the porch not sweeped in awhile. I think if they have a better property manager and put some effort into the upkeep, this cabin would be wonderful. I also didn’t like to haul trash 11 miles to a recycling center. I had no idea what a madhouse the place would be and we didn’t know people separated everything. There is a very pretty public beach, picnic area very close by but we didn’t even know about it. You can pay $5 to park and enjoy.
The heart by “I loved it “ was not put there my me. It was not really what we were expecting.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry the stay was not what you expected. We appreciate your observations and we have addressed those we can control. The drive along Lake Rabun road is a bit of a winding drive but has many beautiful views. Since this is a cabin in the woods it is common for all cabins and homes to drop off garbage and recycling since there is no garbage pick up. The peaceful setting and beautiful surroundings typically makes the stay at the cabin a memorable experience.
Nice cabin in the woods, not fancy but cozy. The whole back of the cabin overlooks woods. Only neighbors you see are to the sides and front; and I bet in spring and summer you wouldn’t see the neighbors to the sides.
Off the beaten path, only a few miles from town but will take you 30 minutes to get to the closest gas station due to the very narrow winding roads, but was never an issue.
Very close to several hiking trails and waterfalls. Which were easy enough to take young children on. We enjoyed a hike everyday and never traveled more than a half hour. One of the longer trails you could easily walk to from the cabin.
Great hosts when I said I was disappointed there was no fire pit outside they had one there before we arrived. This was excellent. We used it everyday and my children had a great time roasting marshmallows.
Really enjoyed my stay other than the beds. Only one of the three is decent. Everyone woke up with backaches. The king bed has huge indentations in it from being well past it’s prime, it was so bad my husband and I turned the bed around trying to make it able to be slept in.
Definitely need to hire a new cleaning person, there were so many spiderwebs it looked like the Haunted Mansion. But the cabin is all wood in the woods so I imagine it would be difficult to keep all the spiders out. Also, found a few dirty dishes in the cabinets but nothing that couldn’t be cleaned, just a little gross to find.
All in all it was a great stay and I would book again if I knew they replaced the beds in the rooms that do not have a bathroom attached. (When I stayed they looked to be in the process of adding another bathroom to the back room with a king bed.)

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at our cabin and were able to explore the surrounding area. As you pointed out, there are many beautiful trails and waterfalls nearby - not to mention the Lake Rabun Beach recreational area. We are also glad that your children were able to enjoy the fire pit and roast marshmallows as they had hoped!
We are very sorry that you found the cleanliness of the cabin less than optimal. We take great effort to ensure that the cabin is thoroughly cleaned before guests arrive and will certainly use your feedback to review our processes. Please know that, however, if you had informed us of your concerns while you were there, we would have arranged to have someone come to address the issues that you found. We are also sorry that you found the beds to be uncomfortable. That has not been the feedback from others who have stayed at our cabin in recent months AND we are aware that everyone has different comfort levels. The king mattress that you mentioned was actually purchased about one year ago, was not inexpensive/is of good quality, and has been lightly used. That said, we will certainly have it looked at to see if it needs to be replaced.
We love this place because if fits our family needs. It has a fenced in area in the back for dogs which they love. Kitchen has tons of plates, pans, cooking utensils etc. (No spices etc but that would attract bugs.) It is nothing too fancy but just very comfortable. A very peaceful cabin in the woods.
Cabin is as described. Very clean, well equipped. The wood burning stove is a great addition. A few minutes walk to Angel Falls trailhead and about a mile from the public boat ramp and recreational area. I trailered my 17' boat up to fish the area lakes and had no trouble coming and going.
It was a great cabin! Will definitely be back for a weekend where we don’t have to leave! Great getaway spot
