Welcome to Zoo Holiday Retreat
Relax and unwind in our quiet, comfortable 4-bedroom home — perfect for families or groups. The house features two full bathrooms, including a brand-new first-floor bath, and a newly renovated kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook comfortably. It features brand-new appliances, including a Keurig coffee maker, a Hamilton Beach kettle (perfect for tea or pour-over coffee), a microwave, and an air fryer toaster oven combo.
The home includes four comfortable bedrooms and sleeps 8: two private rooms each with a queen bed, one room with two full beds, and one bedroom with a bunk bed — perfect for kids or additional guests. Please note that the upstairs bedrooms with the two full beds and bunk bed have a doorway without a door separating the sleeping areas.
For guests traveling with young children, we’re happy to provide baby accessories such as a playpen, high chair, and more upon request.
Step outside to a fully fenced yard with a patio, grill, and outdoor seating — ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring.
Located just half a block from the forest preserve and the Brookfield Zoo property, you’ll have easy access to Salt Creek for canoeing and kayaking. A few blocks away, a paved trail runs alongside the creek and connects to several scenic forest preserves — perfect for biking, walking, or jogging.
Getting into Chicago is simple: the Metra (Burlington Northern line) is less than a mile away and takes you downtown in about 20 minutes. Prefer the “L”? A quick 10-minute drive gets you to the Des Plaines Blue Line station for easy city access. House is uniquely positioned 15 minutes from Midway and 25 minutes from O"Hare Airport.
When you're ready to dine out, downtown Brookfield is just a short walk away and offers a great mix of bars and family-friendly restaurants- with a martini bar just two blocks away. Nearby La Grange also boasts a vibrant dining and shopping scene.

About the host
Hosted by Christopher Janetopoulos

Our family grew up in this house, and several of us still live nearby. It's a very safe and welcoming neighborhood, with a beautiful forest preserve just a few hundred feet away—a place we loved exploring as kids. Taking the train is the easiest way to get downtown, and we highly recommend it. Nearby downtown Brookfield also has several family-friendly restaurants and bars where we often spend time.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location because it’s truly fantastic—you’re close to everything. The layout of the city makes it difficult for cars to pass straight through town, which helps keep traffic light and the neighborhood peaceful.
What makes this property unique
Our place stands out for its modern amenities and natural surroundings. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautifully updated—especially the brand-new first-floor bathroom with a double vanity. The fenced-in yard is perfect for young kids to play safely. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the nearby forest preserve offers paved bike trails, wooded paths to explore, and even spots where you can launch kayaks or canoes.
